NWA-OK's 1st show!

NWA-OK's 1st show!

Posted: Mar 4th 2009 By: mikeiles

The following is taken from NWA Oklahoma's My Space blog and is reprinted here with permission.

Hello NWA fans! This is my first attempt at blogging so here it goes...Our first show under the new management was quite nerve wracking as we weren't sure what to expect in terms of fan acceptance and BAM! We were blessed with a huge crowd and what an exciting card it was. NWA-SW Texas Heavyweight Champion, Michael Faith was on hand as well as NWA-OK and NWA-SW Texas Tag Team Champions, High Society along with all the other great NWA-OK stars. In a building that normally seats about 350 people, we managed to fill to almost capacity. Some numbers stated 397, others 295, truth be told after a ticket count, we did 301 fans. Not bad for a company doomed to fail according to the previous owner. But, we're not out of the water yet! Keeping our fingers crossed and working with an awesome crew that includes a great locker room and putting God before anything, we intend on surpassing the status the company held in previous years. You see, it's quite simple. Give the fans their money's worth. Showcase your top OK talent along with new faces from other NWA affiliates from across the U.S. and the fans will support your product. It's all in how you treat your talent and your paying public. The NWA-OK has signed a 4 show contract with the Chickasaw Nation of Oklahoma with the first show taking place on March 13th and featuring all the NWA-OK stars as well as Cody Jones and Rick Youngblood, (Jay, Mark and Chris Youngblood's nephew). We also helped secure the venue for the NWA-SW 11th Anniversary Show in Livingston, TX, check them out on www.nwa-southwest.com I know that the past management has stated that "indian casino/tribal" shows can't happen due to the fact that they won't support the product but, newsflash! It helps when A)you happen to be a native american owned enterprise which we are and B)you provide them with a venture that'll provide them revenue. That's why we, the NWA-OK will continue to run on tribal land with other tribes as far off as New Mexico already contacting us with requests. Along with those shows, we'll continue to run off tribal land with shows already being projected in Tulsa, Hugo, Guymon, Lawton, Enid and Elk City among others. We are NWA-OK and we intend on running shows all throughout our territory, Oklahoma! By the way, the show set for Davis this weekend also featuring all the NWA-OK stars as well as "San Antonio's Original Vato Loco" El Latino has been virtually "sold out" for 4 days already. Let me explain, since it's a benefit show with donations at the door, we have gotten a downpour of calls from all the schools and churches in Davis and surrounding areas wanting to support this event to benefit the Kennedy Family so we're expecting well over 400 people in a building that seats about 600 so mark my words, we're gonna have a loud crowd! It will be the "1st Annual McKenzie Erin Kennedy Memorial Show" with every year starting in 2010 being a tourny to crown an annual Leroy McGuirk Outstanding Acheivement Award. The March 13th show in Ada? The tribe has sponsors who have already purchased all the 160 ringside tickets and this building seats 700. The tribe owns 2 radio stations, 2 newspapers and a tv studio producing top rate commercials for the tribe and all are contributing to this event. One of these will be our annual "Danny Hodge Strong Style Invitational". Add to that some joint ventures like returning to Livingston, TX 2 more times in 2009, working on a IWC Chicago/NWA-OK show in May, (Mr. Farat books for them as well). Check IWC out on our friends list. Also a possible joint venture with NWA-IZW in Arizona for a show in Bernalillo, N.M. so to say that we're gonna be rockin' in 2009 is an understatement! Giving you, the fans your money's worth is what we're all about. If we succeed, it's because of the fans! NWA-Oklahoma...Tradition Evolved!
