Morgan & Xavior Unleash Surprise Returns In Tag Team Challenge

Morgan & Xavior Unleash Surprise Returns In Tag Team Challenge

Posted: Feb 12th 2009 By: CMBurnham

Kevin Morgan said it best Sunday: "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer."

These days, there aren't two men who could better be called enemies in SWCW than Kevin Morgan and Xavior. They used to be best friends, partners as the New Varsity Club and SWCW Tag Team Champions. But jealousy and impatience grew and split the two. Morgan began to enjoy the cheers of the crowd more and more while Xavior sided with Damon Windsor and brimmed to overflowing with vile hatred and bitterness. Xavior and Windsor did everything they could to put Morgan out, but Morgan came back and back. While he couldn't get a decisive win over the arrogant duo, he never backed down.

Windsor and Xavior came to the ring on January 18 and said that they were very proud of themselves. Xavior could figure out how they could prove themselves again. Acting commissioner Kareem Sadat came to the ring and demanded that they turn over Xavior's half of the SWCW Tag Team belts, but Windsor refused, saying that they never lost it. And that was at least partially true. When Morgan and Xavior split, they were SWCW Tag Team Champions. Morgan heard Windsor's refusal and decided to take matters into her own hands, hitting the ring and clearing it. He demanded Xavior in the ring and promised the crowd to take care of both men. Surprisingly, Windsor & Xavior accepted, but quickly made it clear that their acceptance would be on their own time and their own terms. That time would be later and the terms would be a 2-on-1 handicap match, leaving Morgan all by himself.

Morgan knew what he was getting into and took his fight straight to his opponents. Although he did well, things took a bad turn for him when referee Rob Justice was knocked out of the ring. Morgan hit a chokeslam on Xavior, then managed to capture both men in a double chokeslam. Windsor rolled out of the ring and knocked Justice's glasses off. This meant that Justice never saw it when Xavior hit Morgan with the crowbar. Windsor then came off the tope rope onto Morgan's knee with the crowbar. Sensing blood, Windsor and Xavior simultaneously put submission moves on Morgan and as if enough damage hadn't been done, Xavior grabbed the ropes for added leverage. Morgan tried to fight through, but the pain to his injured knee was too much. He passed out from the pain and his opponents were declared the winner.

An announcement came to Oklafan.com shortly after the conclusion of the January 18 card that Windsor & Xavior would face Kevin Morgan and a partner of his choosing. The question on everyone's mind was: who would he pick? The fans thought they had that answer early in the show on February 8. Xavior once again came out at the beginning of the show and recapped for the fans the events that had left Morgan unconscious in the ring 2 weeks before. He said he would be surprised if Morgan even showed up. Morgan lived up to his expectations, though, and came to the ring, but came by himself. Xavior pointed out how he had no partner, but Morgan countered by saying that he didn't see Xavior's "girlfriend", obviously a reference to the missing Damon Windsor. He promised Xavior that he had a partner and when Xavior asked about him, Morgan just told him to wait and see, then went to leave the ring. That meant turning his back on Xavior and that was a bad decision. Xavior blindsided Morgan with the crowbar once again and proceced to beat him down in the ring until Havoc ran to the rescue. But right after saving him, Havoc clotheslined Morgan. Another 2-on-1 beatdown occurred and finally Xavior and his new ally left.

When it came time for their match, Xavior & Havoc cockilly walked to the ring. Kevin Morgan was announced next and the crowd anxiously awaited his music. Their wishes were fulfilled when the strains of "Runnin' With the Devil" came through the speakers and Oklahoma City wrestling legend Outlaw stepped onto the ramp once more. Outlaw had lost a match with his career on the line in November. And when he stepped into the ring, Xavior immediately began to protest, saying he was retired. Outlaw took the microphone and said that was correct, but that he had been reinstated for one night only. He said that he had taken Xavior under his wing, but his head got as big as Chicago. He couldn't understand Havoc's actions and pointed out that Xavior had something of Outlaw's, namely the branding iron. He finished up by saying that he once called Xavior the future of wrestling, but now he wouldn't give 15 cents for him.

Throughout the entire match, every time Outlaw was tagged in, Xavior wanted nothing to do with him and tagged out (or refused to tag in.). When he was finally forced to make the tag, he did everything he could to get away, but Outlaw had a couple of chokeslams waiting for him. More back-and-forth action occurred until the beginning of the end set in. Havoc locked the referee in the corner and found a way to slip the branding iron into the ring to Xavior. He used it on Morgan, but Outlaw then grabbed it. He prepared to use it on Xavior, but Havoc hit a low blow (unnoticed by the ref). Morgan took advantage of the moment, though, by scooping up Xavior and delivering a powerslam. Outlaw recovered from his pain and rolled up Havoc. The referee counted both pinfalls and declared the fan favourites the winners.

After the match, Outlaw once more took the mic and told Xavior to go ahead and keep the branding iron. It was more of a curse than a blessing. He also suggested that Xavior keep away from him because the next time the 2 met, Outlaw promised to wrap the branding iron around Xavior's neck and shove the other end where the sun doesn't shine.

Morgan seems to have proven his point and now might need to concentrate on finding a partner and entering the tournament for the SWCW Tag Team Titles. As for Xavior, he & Windsor remain a force to be reckoned with and the addition of Havoc to their ranks only increases that threat. Plus, Xavior seems to have his eye set on the MSWA Oklahoma Title held by Bad Boy.
