Allen and Neil Both Want Main Event Spotlight On Them

Allen and Neil Both Want Main Event Spotlight On Them

Posted: Oct 30th 2008 By: CMBurnham

Call them T. M. S. Call them Revolution. Whatever you refer to IZW Impact Division Champion Seth Allen and Dane Griffin as, you can be assured that they are doing everything they can to get under the skin of Aaron Neil in IZW and MSWA.

After the retirement of Brad Michaels, Seth took it upon himself to continue on the tradition of the Old School Assassins. While he didn't have the numbers to count on to join him, he did have the memory of how the OSA worked. He also had Dane Griffin, who had lost his regular tag team partner Les Mayne when Mayne moved to Arizona. Griffin & Allen debuted as T. M. S. (which stands for Too Much Sexy) in MSWA, losing to the MSWA Mid-South Tag Team Champions The Forsaken. Although not successful, they proved that they could get what they want and were a force to be reckoned with.

What Allen wanted, really, was a heavyweight title. He seemed to be on track to getting one when NWA-OK Oklahoma Tag Team and TCBW Tag Team Champion Al Farat was the MSWA Mid-South Champion. But he got sidetracked somewhere and current MSWA Champion Striker stepped up to fill that role. Getting nowhere as a singles in MSWA, Allen concentrated on working his way up the ladder in IZW. Literally. He saw his opportunity to win the Impact Division Title in a Ladder Match against 4 other people, but came up short to Dustin Heritage. Allen bided his time, though. And two weeks later, he defeated Heritage for the Impact title. That wasn't enough though, as he saw that simply as a stepping stone. He wanted the top title. But standing in his way was perennial contender (and the only 2-time champion in IZW history) Aaron Neil. Neil had rebuked an offer to rejoin Impact, Inc. upon his return to IZW and made it clear he wanted the Heavyweight title, but he wanted it on his own terms.

Over the past couple of weeks, Neil and Allen have constantly run into each other. Two weeks ago, "The Real Deal" defeated "The Original Sensation" by submission in a match to determine the final contender for a Triple Threat Heavyweight Title Match on November 1. But this past Saturday, new IZW co-commissioner Steve O seemed to have other plans. Allen had protested the decision and Steve O decided to give him another shot to earn that position. And just to make sure that things were (un)fair, he made the match a handicap match: Aaron Neil vs. Revolution. That match came about, but didn't end the way that it was expected to, as Angel Williams interfered, leading to an apparent No-Decision. Steve O wouldn't have that, thought. He said that if Angel wanted to be in the match, he would be, but it would STILL be a Handicap Match and brought out IZW Owner (and IZW Tag Team Champion) Johnny Z to join Allen & Griffin. It wasn't enough, though, as the two top contenders to the IZW Title came out victorious.

The next day, there was a certain amount of deja vu all over again in MSWA. As has been the case for the past few shows, the position of commissioner had still not been permanently filled and this week, Seth Allen had drawn the lucky straw and got to be in charge. Being in the Halloween spirit, he came out dressed as his favourite wrestler, Dane Griffin. He said that Dane was also dressed as his favourite wrestler, but didn't quite get what he was expecting when Dane arrived dressed as Randy Orton. With these shenanigans over, Allen set down to business. He said that he knew the crowd expected him to cancel the match between Aaron Neil and Dane Griffin that had been announced. But Seth had a better plan and brought out Aaron to announce it. He said that they were going to play "Let's Make A Deal" and said there were two doors he could choose from. Behind door #1, there was Dane Griffin and revenge that he had been seeking for quite a while. But behind door #2 was Striker and a shot at the MSWA Title. Neil didn't have to make the decision at that moment, but by the end of the show, a choice would be made.

When it came time for the main event, Neil came out and said T. M. S. were right. He'd love nothing better than to "beat the hell out of both of them". But he'd been in MSWA for 6 years and had NEVER received a shot at the MSWA Title. After much thinking, he realised that he could beat Dane anytime, anywhere. It could be in the ring at the next show or it could be in the parking lot after THIS show. But a shot at the top title only happens once in a while. So he took the offer to face Striker and Allen and Griffin were seemingly off the hook.

Even though T. M. S. didn't have to wrestle now, it didn't mean that they weren't going to hang around. And since they were present, they made their presence known by interfering on several occassions, which led to Neil calling for the microphone. He said that since they wanted to be involved in the match, he proposed a tag team match: Neil and Striker vs. T. M. S. When Allen reneged on this offer, he turned the "Let's Make A Deal" idea on them, saying that they also had 2 choices. They could meet Allen in the ring where there was a referee and rules or they could meet him in the parking lot after the show. Either way, he was determined to get his hands on them. Allen & Griffin saw themselves backed into a corner, so Allen said he agreed to meet them in the ring " for their safety". And that was all Neil & Striker needed to hear. They pounded on the duo for the first half of the match before Neil was isolated and worked over by the dastardly duo. But after much struggling, Neil made the tag to Striker and the tide turned for the better. Neil and Striker got the pin, much to the crowd's delight. An embarassed Seth Allen took the microphone and told the crowd he was throwing the match out "due to excessive force", but no one took him seriously.

After T. M. S. left, Aaron Neil picked up the MSWA Title belt and looked at it longingly, then said, "Maybe another day" and handed it to Striker. And it's almost certain that another day will come for the superstar, either in IZW or MSWA. Neil knows what he has to do to be successful. Perhaps that success will come to him this Saturday when he faces Angel Williams and IZW Champion Michael Barry in a Triple Threat Match at "Halloween Hangover".
