NEWS
Paul “Triple H” Levesque tweeted about Thunderbolt Patterson being part of the 2024 WWE Hall of Fame class saying “He was a champion in the ring, and championed the health and well-being of his peers outside of it. Thunderbolt Patterson’s influence is still felt today, and will receive the recognition it deserves when he joins the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2024. #WWEHOF”

Xavier Woods congratulated Thunderbolt Patterson saying “He did so much for professional wrestling that doesn't get talked about. Glad to see that this man get his chance to enter into the @wwe hall of fame. Congrats Thunderbolt!”

Week 3 of WWE Superstar Sunday on A&E started with “WWE Rivals: Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels” followed by “Biography: Scott Hall”. The “Rivals” episode drew 368,000 viewers and a 0.12 rating in the 18-49 demographic, finishing the night #25. That was up 52,000 viewers from the previous week and up 0.06 in 18-49.

AEW’s Ric Flair had high praise for The Rock following the Rock Concert segment that took place on this past Friday’s “SmackDown” saying “My Friend @TheRock, You Are The Most Entertaining Motherf*cker In The Entire History Of The Wrestling Business And I’ve Seen Them All, Including Myself, But I Pale In Comparison! I’m So Thankful For Our Friendship & Respect. God Bless You! You Are The F*cking Man! WOOOOO!”

During the latest episode of his podcast “Grilling JR”, Jim Ross admitted that this could be his last year behind the commentary table. Ross signed a new, one-year deal with AEW this month and he said that realistically, this could very well be his last year and "more than likely will". "That's to be determined. That's between me, my health, and Tony Khan seeing how much to utilize me. Right now, it's a good plan because I'm essentially working, as I understand it, pay-per-views only," the 72-year-old Hall of Famer said. "We all know that in pro wrestling things change on a fly and things could be different, but I don't think so on this occasion," he said, referring to if he could be appearing on other shows. Ross previously said that it was the deal he wanted and financially-wise it was also everything he asked for.

Samoa Joe named Bruiser Brody as the opponent he’d like to face if he could have a dream match against anyone, dead or alive.

Shane Helms said that the story Buff Bagwell told on “Dark Side of the Ring” about their encounter shortly after both were signed by WWF in 2001 was not true. He said on X, "Buff is a lying POS. Always has been,. There were witnesses and none agree with Buff. He used to blame Jim Ross too,. Blamed everyone except the man in the mirror. Nothing wrong with failing at something but accountability is key. Everyone associated with that episode of Dark Side can suck ass. He literally just went on a show and told a bunch of lies. No more second chances from me." Bagwell claimed during a training session after both were signed by WWE that he slapped Helms in the face and then Helms smashed him with a frozen bottle of water, which left him with 24 staples in his head that he had to wrestle on TV with against Booker T.

There is a musical based on pro wrestling, called "The Last Match: A Pro-Wrestling Rock Experience”. It will run April 26th through May 5th and Mickie James will be starring in the lead role of The Mother. Additional casting will be announced soon. The musical has already been announced to be running in 10 cities with more possible to be announced.

Oklafan congratulates Jastin Taylor, who recently surpassed 6 months as BCW Heavyweight Champion. He defeated Sam Stackhouse for the title at an event in Guthrie.

Oklafan extends condolences to Ryan the Ripper on the passing of his cousin Raymond on March 11th.

Oklafan extends condolences to Wrangler Rhett on the passing of his grandfather on March 16th.

Oklafan extends condolences to the family and friends of Clifford Long, who competed as Country Boy Chopper and Luscious Larry. He passed away March 9, 2024 at the age of 59. At the time of this writing, no cause of death has been released. Long, who was from East Texas, was trained by Tom Jones and Rick Garrett and began his career in 1987. Records in that period are sparse, but it is possible he may have competed at the Sportatorium in Dallas at some point, probably in the 1990s. It is known for sure that Long was competing as Country Boy Chopper by 1994 in PZWA. He would continue under that name through 1997 for certain and in that time, amassed several titles, primarily as a tag team competitor. He won the PZWA Tag Team Titles 4 times. Three of those times were with Slash as members of The Brotherhood of Pain. The 4th was with his trainer and mentor, Tom Jones. Records become sparse again, but Long continued his career into the NMS days, as he is confirmed to have won the NMS Tag Team Titles twice with Striker and he also held the NMS Tri-State Title. At some point in 1999, he changed his name to Luscious Larry and continued competing until 2000. He wrestled Jimmy Snuka at an event in Tulsa and after the match was over, suffered what was reported at the time as a mild heart attack. There are no records of Long competing again until 2006, but he returned to AACW and was a mainstay there as well as in the early months of SWCW. On February 24, 2007, Long defeated Outlaw to become the inaugural SWCW Champion. He would hold that title until losing it on March 31 2007 to Rick Garrett in a Triple Threat Match that also involved Outlaw. It was the final title Long would win before ending his career in 2008. Long, who weighed near 400 lbs at one point, lost a significant amount of weight and appeared to be in good health by those who saw him regularly. According to some of his fellow competitors, Long will be remembered as someone who would not hesitate to tell you when you messed up, but also offered suggestions on how to fix the problems. And he certainly enjoyed his family, as well as a beer and some wings at Hooters. Long competed in 44 documented matches in Oklahoma. The earliest was June 10, 1994 for PZWA in Pryor, where he lost to The Shadow. And the last was May 3, 2008 in Oklahoma City, where he lost to Romo.
