Indywarz Top 100 Texas Wrestlers has Oklahoma flavor

J. T. LaMotta

Every year Indywarz.com opens up the polls and takes votes on who their fans think are the top 100 wrestlers in the state of Texas. Every year, wrestlers that got their start in Oklahoma, or have vast experience wrestling in Oklahoma, are sprinkled throughout the rankings. This year was no exception.

97. Cade Sydal: The former SRPW mainstay has built quite a career down in Texas. He now almost solely wrestles for the Graham based Total Texas Wrestling although he did recently work for the Arlington based Professional Championship Wrestling on their Uncut show. In 2006, Sydal was ranked #66.

93. John O'Malley: The current IZW Impact Division Champion in Oklahoma, the current ACW Heavyweight Champion in Colorado, and a force to be reckoned with in the state of Texas as well where he has worked for Total Texas Wrestling and Professional Championship Wrestling Uncut. O'Malley was ranked at #99 in 2006.

84. Michael Faith: The Largeadore, as he is called in Texas, was not ranked in the 2006 Top 100 in Texas. He has been working for Professional Championship Wrestling Uncut as of late and he and Rexx Reed are responsible for the upcoming Jeffrey Yaws benefit show.

83. Slam Shady: The current NWA Oklahoma Heavyweight Champion has been chasing the NWA Texas Heavyweight Champion Chaz Taylor throughout the state in hopes of becoming a dual champion. He came up short in his latest attempt, but had he won the title he may have been ranked higher. Last year, Shady was ranked #64.

67. Mitch Carter: The former IZW Cruiserweight Champion, Carter is a newcomer to the list. He has been been working for Professional Championship Wrestling Uncut and also has vast experience in Total Texas Wrestling as well.

64. Bash: Yet another wrestler who was unranked last year, the former NWA-U Tag Team Champion is almost exclusively a tag team specialist holding multiple tag team titles in Texas, but did have a short run as a singles when Southwest Premier Wrestling invaded Professional Championship Wrestling Uncut.

60. Ryan Davidson: Perhaps the wrestler who is named most often when people are asked about who has the brightest future. Davidson practically works non-stop in Oklahoma and Texas. As with several others, Davidson was not ranked in 2006.

46. Spoiler 2000: S2K had the biggest jump in rankings from last year among the wrestlers with Oklahoma ties jumping from #91. Spoiler was the main cog in Southwest Premier Wrestling's invasion of Professional Championship Wrestling Uncut. He and Bash hold multiple tag team titles in Texas, and S2K recently won, then lost, the SPW Heavyweight Title.

26. Dusty Wolfe: The name may not be familiar unless you remember him as "enhancement talent" in the WWF in early to mid 1980's. But practically anytime you see Doink the Clown in Oklahoma or Texas, chances are it's Wolfe portraying him. Wolfe was ranked #57 in 2006.

17. Seth Shai: The former IZW Tag Team Champion may have dropped a few spots when his longtime tag team partner Mace quit wrestling to become a police officer. However he is the current New Age Wrestling Heavyweight Champion and is recognized as one of the top indy stars in the country. Last year he was ranked #4.

16. Action Jackson: The Texas Legend just keeps plugging along. He got his start in the Bill Watts run Mid-South Wrestling as "Popular" Perry Jackson and has worked for nearly every Texas wrestling federation that has come and gone. He mostly splits his time now between Professional Championship Wrestling Full Throttle and the Denton based Xtreme Championship Wrestling. Jackson was ranked #34 in 2006.

11. J. T. LaMotta: The former IZW Cruiserweight Champion has been wrestling all over Texas and his high ranking definitely shows. Last year, LaMotta was ranked #38.

Wrestlers with Oklahoma ties that were ranked in 2006 but not in 2007 are as follows:

American Anarchy
Brandon Bishop
Mace
Matt Garza

Oklafan would like to congratulate all the wrestlers in the Indywarz Texas Top 100. You can view the entire list at Indywarz.com/index.php?topic=83.0.
