Total Domination! Nemesis Controls MSWA, Looks To Other Conquests
They're rapidly on their way to becoming the single most dominant faction on Oklahoma wrestling.
To say Nemesis has been successful in 2012 is a bit of an understatement. The list of titles put under thier control in the first half of this year is growing by leaps and bounds. Former IZW Tag Team Champions and current BYEW Tag Team Champions are just a pair of the championship accolades attributed to them. And now, they can add control of both the MSWA Mid-South Heavyweight and Tag Team Titles to their resumes as well.
Nemesis has always prided itself on its tag team ability. Before MSWA took a hiatus towards the end of 2011, Damon Windsor & Damien Morte won the MSWA Tag Team Titles from The Syndicate. But all titles were declared vacant on April 15 at MSWA's return and a tournament was held to fill those titles. In the first round, Nemesis faced off against members of the Clockwork Clique, Crossfire Morrison & BYEW Entertainment Champion Bobby Star. With the new acquisition of Nikki Knight at ringside for Nemesis, it was difficult for Morrison & Star to focus entirely on the match and when Knight jumped up on the ring apron to distract the referee, Windsor moved in for a low blow. Then he and Rage Logan pulled off the London Bridge for the win and the Clockwork Clique came falling down.
The other team to advance was the newly formed team of Mexi-Canada, made up of the Canadian Red Devil & El Maximo. An eccentric team to be sure, they advanced in something of an upset over the Syndicate. So on April 29, Nemesis & Mexi-Canada entered the ring to determine the best tag team in the company. But in a bit of a switch up, Rage Logan pulled out of the Tag Team Title match to prepare for his Heavyweight title match and Damien Morte was brought back into the fold. More & Windsor seemed to have lost no step and while there was a bit of a miscommunication near the beginning, which resulted in Morte having his arm worked over by Windsor accidentally, things quickly righted themselves and both teams got down to serious business. Sadly for the colourful fan favourites, the numbers game was too much for them to handle. The Devil & Windsor brawled to the outside and referee George Knight moved out to try and restore order there. This allowed Rage Logan to enter the ring and connect with a Zig Zag-style move on El Maximo. Morte then pinned the luchadore and Nemesis once again controlled the MSWA Tag Team Championships.
With one title down, now Nemesis looked forward to gaining their second in the same show. Rage Logan had won a battle royal on April 15 to earn an opportunity at the MSWA Title, but the method he used did not leave a good taste in most people's mouths. While everyone else jumped in the ring and began to beat on anyone around them, Logan hid UNDER the ring and waited. And he did this very efficiently, so most of the fans didn't notice and the referee couldn't find him. The final four in the battle royal were Damon Windsor, Bobby Star, Crossfire Morrison & newcomer Kyle Kelly. The Clockwork Clique once again came up short in their efforts, then Windsor was sent over the top by Kelly. Windsor quickly grabbed the microphone from ring announcer C. M. Burnham and said that there was no way Kelly was winning this event. While Kelly was distracted, Logan emerged from under the ring and dumped Kelly over the top to win.
None of this sat well with MSWA commissioner Kevin Morgan and when the show started on April 29, he called Kelly to the ring and announced that he would give him a qualifying match to earn his shot at Logan and the MSWA Title. That match was against Cody Jones and Kelly showed tremendous ability for a rookie. Jones missed a frogsplash and Kelly quckly hoisted Jones up for a TKO to gain the win.
But again, it all proved to be for naught as numbers came back to haunt Kelly. Faced with a 4-on-1 situation (with Morte, Windsor and Nikki Knight all at ringside), it would have been understandable for Kelly to call it a day and walk away. But the promise of the Heavyweight Title so early in his career, combined with his never-say-die attitude all forced Kelly to step in the ring. And as long as things were one-on-one, Kelly looked good. However, at an opportune moment, Nikki Knight slide the belt into the ring and it ended up being slammed up against Kelly's head. 3 seconds later, Rage Logan became the new MSWA Champion and Nemesis stood triumphant in total control of the championships in MSWA.
With tag team championships in both MSWA & BYEW, Nemesis now looks to complete the trifecta once more and win the IZW Tag Team Titles at their "Coronation" iPPV event. If they are able to do so, 3 different combinations of Nemesis will hold 3 different tag team titles, a feat never accomplished before in this state.
