To start go ahead and introduce yourself.
My name is Matt Taylor and I wrestle by the name Abel. I’m from Bartlesville Oklahoma and I’ve been wrestling for 3 years. I’ve worked WFC, UWE, SRPW, Compound Pro, and BPPW in Oklahoma and SRPW in Kansas.
Why wrestling? What made you want to get into it?
I grew up with it. It’s been my dream for as long as I can remember.
So how did you get into the business?
Me and Justin (Riker) found SRPW and talked to the people in charge and started training.
Who Trained you and how long did you train before your first match?
I was trained at SRPW by Ryan Collins aka Brian Breaker. I trained somewhere between 6 months and a year I can’t quite remember.
Tell me about your first match?
My first match was against Tarzan Davis at SRPW. I won by DQ but got jumped after the match. Paul Puertorico came out and saved me.
Who are some people you looked up to?
Stone Cold Steve Austin, Sting, Brian Pillman, Dean Ambose, and Mankind.
What are some career highlights that stick out to you?
I was 3x SRPW Tag Team Champion, 2x UWE Tag Team Champion. Also my feud with Mr. Nasty and my match against Aaron Anders in my hometown were definitely my favorite moments.
If you could work with anyone, past or present, who would you choose?
My dream match would be against Sami Calihan. He’s easily my favorite worker on the indy scene right now.
What are some future goals you would love to accomplish?
I’d love to make it to big wrestling promotions. Such as Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG) and Ring of Honor (ROH)
