Riker Interview

Riker Interview

Posted: Sep 19th 2016 By: Lance Osburn

To start go ahead and introduce yourself.

My name is Justin Demuth but I wrestle under the name Riker. I am from Bartlesville Oklahoma and I have been wrestling for 2 and a half years. I’ve worked all over Oklahoma at WFC, UWE, SRPW Compound Pro, BPPW, GWP, and a few shows in Kansas.

Why wrestling? What made you want to do this?

I’ve been a fan since childhood. I did sports throughout high school mainly just to be in shape for wrestling. This is what I’ve always wanted to do.

How did you get into this business?

I started training at Compound Pro Wrestling School but I broke both of my arms in a dirt bike accident. After that I took some time off to finish college. Once I decided to get back into it I went to the cheapest place I could. Eventually I realized that I didn’t obtain the training I needed to perform at the level I wanted to be at. From that point I sought training from a man that I knew had the experience and knowledge in the business. He was former NXT superstar Brian Breaker.

Tell me about your first match. What are some highlights you remember from it?

I worked face in Bristow Oklahoma against Ray Martinez. I was wearing trash bag gear and wrestling like Oklahoma scum. I had a faux hawk and a chin strap. I looked like my special little brother if I had one.

Who were some of the people you looked up to?

The Rock, Triple H, Val Venis, and 2 Cool

What are some career highlights that really stick out to you?

Taking Steel Rage to the Top and walking out on top with my friends. Also the Tag Team Cage match at UWE against Jon Cross and Brandon Walker. My matches against Mr. Nasty, Jon Cross, and all my friends are definitely highlights too!

If you could work anyone, past or present, who would it be?

Alexa Bliss

What are some future goals you would love to accomplish?

I want to be looked at as a top guy for the companies I work for.

Do you have any final remarks or anything you would like for people to know?

People in the state (OK) need to work to get better. Those who don’t are the ones that have been trained by jabroni, they need to get out. Untrained workers are killing the look on Oklahoma wrestling, And if you think I’m talking about you, I am.
