Killista Interview
Posted: Jul 18th 2016 By: Bernd Lorenz
Thank you for your spontaneous commitment. Can you introduce yourself please?
My name is Killista. I'm from Roswell, New Mexico but I reside in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I've been a wrestler for about 2 years. I've wrestled in several different states, but I mostly work in Oklahoma. I enjoy what I do and I love to entertain the fans.
-How did you get into the Wrestling business?
Professional wrestling is something I always thought was really cool, but I thought it was just for people who were larger than life type personalities, so I was a little intimidated to try it. But I figured I was getting older and I didn't want the opportunity to pass me by, so I did my research and contacted Compound Pro Wrestling in Tulsa and started training. My sister trained with me as well, which also gave me some courage to try it.
-What is your family thinking of your passion for the sport, are they worried about your health?
Funny you should ask that. My mom actually really loves it! I think it is the proudest she has ever been of me just because I took such a big step out of my comfort zone. I'm usually a very reserved person until I get in the ring. The rest of the family is okay with it, but mom is definitely my biggest fan.
- What can you say about your Coach and how long did it take, that it was clear for you to do the first match?
The Canadian Red Devil trained me. I trained for about 6 months before I had my first match. One thing that I respected about CRD is that he wanted me to be well trained before my first show. I'm sure he could have just stuck me out there and I would have been some girl in the show, but he wanted me to have respectable matches.
- Can you still remember your very first Pro Wrestling match and what was it like to wrestle in front of an live crowd for the first time?
Yes! I had one spot that I was kind of nervous about... I had to sneak out to the ring in the dark and I was worried I would trip over something or not make it out there before the lights came back on. But everything worked out and I think it was a great introduction for myself because it caught the fans by surprise.
- Pro Wrestling has many legends, do you have any idols?
Yeah, I have a few people I admire and like to re-watch their matches from time to time. I like watching: Victoria, Michelle McCool, Chris Jericho, The Rock, and several others.
- And where did you see yourself in 5 years from now?
I have no idea! I wish I had a clue. Hopefully happy and fulfilled.
- What goals do you still have, would a major contract be interesting for you or do you feel well in the Indy area?
If the opportunity presented itself I think I would want to have a major contract. Mostly depends on my health. Right now I feel really good and healthy so I would consider bigger goals.
- Every wrestler tries to gain international experience, to travel to many countries. Which country you would love to visit next and wrestle? And do you have the time to make some sightseeing in other Countries?
I definitely have my list of countries I want to visit one day. I don't know if I'll be wrestling in all of these places, but I would really like to visit: New Zealand, Peru, Ireland, Thailand, Brazil, France, and Germany.
-When a booker or company will book you where can they contact you?
Best way is to contact me about a booking is to visit my Facebook page and just send me a message.
-Is there anything else you would like to let my readers and your fans know?
I have a sister that wrestles and she is kind of mean but very talented. I think people should check her out as well. Her ring name is Skylar Slice
