World Wrestling Empire
World Wrestling Empire was primarily owned by Raymon Downey, who also competed and managed as Flamon Raymon. "The Empire" promoted shows in the Northeast portion of Oklahoma in the mid-1990s. Many of the bigger names of local Oklahoma wrestling got their start in WWEmp, including Generation X, Pete Maguire, & Rocco Valentino. Other owners would come on board during the Empire's run, but ultimately they would shut down for financial reasons and eventually be replaced by Maximum Championship Wrestling. The company referred to itself as WWE long before World Wrestling Federation renamed itself World Wrestling Entertainment and used the initials WWE. However, Oklafan refers to World Wrestling Empire as WWEmp to avoid confusion, despite the protests from Downey.
