Federations
Tri-States Wrestling
The original wrestling federation for Oklahoma, owned by Leroy McGuirk and Sam Avey. Tri-State Wrestling was the starting point for many wrestlers who became household names in the history of Oklahoma Wrestling or the national scene. TSW promoted shows in Oklahoma, Louisiana, Mississippi & Arkansas. In the 1970s, Bill Watts began to control the booking in Oklahoma, while McGuirk retained control of the other territories. This began to lead to power struggles between the mentor and protege, which would ultimately lead to the end of TSW and the beginning of Mid-South Wrestling.
