Oklahoma Pro Wrestling
Oklahoma Professional Wrestling was the brainchild of Rocco Valentino. Springing out of the failure of Maximum Championship Wrestling, Rocco sought to bring pro wrestling to the Tulsa area again. Finding a fellow wrestling fan in Mike Monroe, the manager of Riverlanes Bowling Alley, Rocco had a place to run his shows. He then began recruiting and training local talent for these shows and created many local and regional wrestling superstars. Previous superstars from MCW & World Wrestling Empire such as Chief Red Eagle, the Great Bolo 2nd, the Original Renegade, Jimmy Kane, Generation X, & Scott Summers came on board. OPW also saw the rise of stars like Brandon Groom, Joey Casanova, Heather Savage, Splash Jackson, Big Daddy Moore, Bull Schmitt & the Casualties of War. Most importantly, OPW was the beginning point for former NWA World Champion Brent Albright, then known as Vinnie Valentino. OPW ran from 1997 through 2002 before being sold to John Crow. Pictured or listed below are the wrestlers that held at least one OPW title during their run.
