Compound Pro Wrestling Review (8-12-17)

Compound Pro Wrestling put on an amazing show here in Tulsa, OK (8-12-17). It began with a meet and greet with Former WWE Superstar Jack Swagger – a truly great American superstar who took the time to ensure everyone in the arena who wished to take a photo with him had the opportunity, and he took the time to have a brief personal talk with each fan ensuring they felt welcomed and appreciated. For me, this was second only to witnessing my Dad’s favorite female wrestler, Gail Kim, give him a hug and personally wish him a happy birthday at a TNA Impact house show years ago; his face was never more red. LOL.
The performers left nothing on the mat. They poured out their sweat and blood for us fans, literally. Each match was entertaining and a huge thank you to all the wrestlers who performed: Gavin Dixon, Jack Gamble, Dimitri Alexandrov, Stonewall Cole, Armin Syzlack, Psycho Sawyer, Elvis Aliaga, Excellence Personified, Kirk Chalmers, Nathan Estrada, Aaron Anders, Michael Wolf and, of course, Jack Swagger.
However, there were a few standout moments for me. (In no particular order)
It was a great tag team championship match between Excellence Personified (Duke Swellington and Dustin Heritage, with “The Kingpin” Mike Iles) against Nathan Estrada and Kirk Chalmers. I know I wasn’t the only person cheering for the champs (the heels Excellence Personified) but at times it sure felt like it. There was one point where Duke Swellington lifted Kirk Chalmers and dropped him chest first on the top rope. This move was performed twice and, wanting to see it a third time, I began shouting, “One more time!” The champs replied, “You wanna see it again?” Then Swellington performed a different move, at which point Dustin Heritage looked at me and shouted, “We don’t listen to you. We are the champs. We do what we want, when we want.” It was a fantastic interaction. It’s this, personal, interaction with the fans that helps boost the entertainment levels and create that feeling of involvement we fans love; it is also something that is much more achievable in more intimate venues such as this was (that’s why I like house shows).
Aaron Anders and Michael Wolf put on one heck of a street fight match that had the crowd chanting, “This is awesome!” They beat each other with tables and ladders and chairs, Oh My! Anders was put through the table which Wolf had propped up in the corner on the turnbuckle, but that didn’t stop Anders who later used the ladder as a platform to deliver a massive elbow drop to Wolf. They beat each other senseless and we, the crowd, loved every moment of it.
Jack Swagger versus Elvis Aliaga was a fantastic match as well. The fans and I, as was evident with the cheers and praise for Jack Swagger after the match, thoroughly enjoyed watching him perform. He did not let us down. The match was everything and more. And I must give major props to Elvis for his ability to be a great heel and go toe-to-toe with an unbelievably talented superstar in both collegiate and professional wrestling. These two were made to face each other and I hope we get to see more feuds between these two stars.
Compound Pro Wrestling knows how to put on a fantastic show for its fans. Though this was my first time attending one of their events I will surely be attending more.
If you are a fan of wrestling you must attend one of these events at Compound Pro Wrestling and cheer on these wrestling stars. I assure you, you will not regret it.
