NEWS
California based Championship Wrestling from Hollywood has expanded into several television markets outside their home state. They will be airing on Youtoo America affiliates such as KOMI in Oklahoma City, on KWEM in Stillwater, and on Time Warner/Suddenlink in Lawton. They also air on TUFF TV which has KBZC in Enid. Check local listings for times in your area. To see the entire television scheduled for CWFH, go to HollywoodWrestling.com/Television-Schedule.

Added to the WWE Network this month is "Piper's Pit: Born to Controversy" and "Razor Ramon: Oozing Machismo".

The June 30, 1973 show from Madison Square Garden in New York City was added to the WWE Network this past week. The show was headlined by Pedro Morales defending the WWWF Title against George Steele, and also included Victor Rivera vs. Black Gordman in a special match from California, Haystacks Calhoun vs. Moondog Mayne, Chief Jay Strongbow vs. Mr. Fuji, Gorilla Monsoon vs. Lou Albano, and more.

Ric Flair has been in Knoxville, TN lately campaigning for Glenn Jacobs (AKA Kane) in his bid for mayor of Knox County.

Former TNA Knockouts champion Gail Kim announced during last Thursday’s "Impact" that she will be retiring from in-ring competition at the end of this year, hanging up her boots after a 17-year career. “I’ve had 17 AMAZING years in pro wrestling and unfortunately it’s something that can’t last forever. I’m grateful for all the ups and downs because it made me who I am today,” Kim wrote in a post in Instagram. “I always said that I would retire when I couldn’t give all of me ALL of the time. That day and decision has come with some difficulty and peace at the same time but for the remainder of 2017, you better believe you will get ALL of me,” she added, before reminding everyone that she intends to go out on top. The Instagram post featured a quote reading, “Immortality is to live your life doing good things, and leaving your mark behind,” along with two photos of her with the WWE Women’s and TNA Knockouts titles. Kim had two stints with WWE and two with TNA. While in WWE, she won the Women’s Title on her first televised appearance, winning a Battle Royal for the title. Unfortunately her title reign was just four weeks short and it was the only time she held a title in her combined five-year run in WWE. But things got better for Kim in TNA and she found more success over there, winning the Knockouts Title on six different occasions and winning the Knockouts Tag Team Titles once. She had some very memorable matches, especially against Awesome Kong, and in 2016 she was inducted in the TNA Hall of Fame. Her two stints with TNA/Impact/GFW amount to nearly a decade.

During a conference call with the media Wednesday, Global Force Wrestling's Chief Creative Officer Jeff Jarrett said that Alberto El Patron will not be cut out from the shows that were taped last week and for now he will remain the promotion’s World Champion. GFW taped enough episodes of "Impact" that will take them through mid-August and editing El Patron from all the broadcasts would have been a nightmare. GFW suspended El Patron pending the outcome of the domestic violence investigation that he is currently under from the Orlando Police Department. Jarrett also said Anthem Sports is doing its own investigation and trying to figure out exactly what happened. El Patron has been the “chosen one” so to speak by Jarrett and was brought in when Anthem took over the company. El Patron is being advertised for the GFW event in Bridgeport, CT on August 6th.

Greg Oliver wrote a story about Jarrett and the El Patron situation entitled "Jarrett addresses Alberto El Patron situation" which you read by clicking here.

After Jeff Jarrett maintained on a conference call last week that Anthem Sports owns the rights to the "Broken Hardys" characters and said that Matt & Jeff Hardy haven't agreed to purchase them, Matt's wife Reby Hardy struck back on Twitter. She wrote "We had agreement terms as of LAST WEEK. Included non-disparagement clause to the tune of 5k every time I tweet something about TNA...but according to @RealJeffJarrett, there is nothing ? OKAY ! Who's up for another run of #F*ckThatOwl shirts ? They'll be up by 2mor. I haven't said anything FOR WEEKS. Meanwhile, Jeff (Jarrett), Dutch (Mantell) & Ed (Nordholm) all can't seem to be able to keep us out of their mouths. Snakes."

Reby Hardy wasn't the only person who took exception to Jeff Jarrett's conference call, with Shane Helms tweeting that Jarrett would "rather climb a tree to tell a lie than stay on the ground and tell the truth" in response to Jarrett saying that Helms and other agents were let go because they had too many of them.

Pro Wrestling Guerrilla has announced four more participants for this year's "Battle of Los Angeles". The four additions were Zack Sabre, Jr., Sammy Guevara, Mark Haskins, and Jonah Rock bringing the total number of entrants to fourteen.

Kayfabe Commentaries released a new DVD entitled "Jim Cornette's 'Timeline WCW 1990'".

"Hamilton Comic Con" announced its lineup for the event at to the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum in Hamilton, Ontario, on September 30 and October 1. On the wrestling side, it's keyed on the first-ever "Royal Rumble", which was held in Hamilton on January 24, 1988 at Copps Coliseum, and four wrestling legends that participated in the inaugural event are scheduled to be there. They are The Killer Bees (B. Brian Blair & Jim Brunzell), One Man Gang, and Hacksaw Jim Duggan (the winner of the 1st event). "There’s no doubt that the Royal Rumble is one of the better known pay per views that take place each yea, and what better way to celebrate a 30th anniversary than bringing back the same men who made history in Hamilton back in 1988," said Chris Dabrowski, show manager for the annual pop culture event, in a press release. "This is definitely a first, and a huge treat for wrestling fans in and around Hamilton." Shawn Michaels is scheduled to be there too, along with Burt Ward who played Robin in the 1966 "Batman" television series, Ernie Hudson from "Ghostbusters", Jon Heder from "Napoleon Dynamite", Tom Wopat from "Dukes of Hazzard", Karyn Parsons and Tatyana Ali from "Fresh Prince of Bel Air". Oklafan congratulates Lockdown on his engagement to his fiancée Lindsey on July 15th.

Oklafan congratulates Brian Lakewood on the birth of his great-niece Alice on June 28th.

Oklafan extends condolences to Sensei Jamo on the passing of his father.

Oklafan extends condolences to Bob Roop on the passing of his wife Molly who passed away last week from lung cancer.

Oklafan extends condolences to the family and friends of Spoiler #2, who also competed as Buddy Wolff, who passed away July 11th as a result of complications from dementia at the age 76 years old. Spoiler, whose real name was Les Wolff, was a high school football player and wrestler, who at one point was considered for the 1964 Olympic wrestling team. But a meeting with Lars Anderson, who was a teammate of his, resulted in him going to Verne Gagne's training academy. While never a huge national star, Wolff competed in many areas and had feuds with Ole Anderson, Wahoo McDaniel, and Johnny Valentine. He even challenged WWWF World Champion Pedro Morales on multiple occassions. In 1971, Wolff came to TSW and become Spoiler #2, alongside Don Jardine. Together, the defeated The Kentuckians (Grizzly Smith & Luke Brown) in either April or May of 1971 for the TSW United States Tag Team Titles, but then lost them them to Tom Jones & Billy Red Lyons on May 31, 1971. At that point, Wolff appears to have abandoned the Spoiler #2 persona, but others would continue after him. He chose to continue to compete as Buddy Wolfe and ultimately ended up in WCCW, where won the WCCW Texas Title from Al Madril in March of 1975. This title reign would also prove to be short lived as, before the end of the month, he would lose the belt to John Tolos. Perhaps the most famous thing Wolff did in wrestling was compete in one of the three exhibition matches against Muhammad Ali, broadcast on "ABC's Wide World of Sports", in preparation for Ali's famous Boxer-vs-Wrestler match against Antonio Inoki. Wolff retired in the 1980s and went on to patent a device called the "Banner Saver", a flexible bracket designed to keep banners from being destroyed in high-wind situations. Wolff has 12 documented appearances in Oklahoma. The earliest, as Les Wolff, was November 14, 1970 in Oklahoma City, where he teamed with Duke Myers and lost to The Kentuckians. The last was June 18, 1971 in Oklahoma City, where he, as Spoiler #2, lost to Bill Watts.

Greg Oliver wrote a story entitled "Buddy Wolff dies" which you can read by clicking here.
