NEWS
It was announced that Trevor Murdoch's final match of his career was on May 6th in Lebanon, MO at the Ringside Championship Wrestling event. He defeated "Superstar" Steve Fender.

In an interview while in Israel, Kevin Von Erich says he is planning to return to the ring for one more match alongside his sons.

Ronnie Garvin and The Batten Twins (Brad Batten & Bart Batten) were the first inductees into Appalachian Mountain Wrestling's East Kentucky Hall of Fame. Garvin was also presented a Life Time Achievement Award by Perry County, KY presented to him by a local judge. It was also proclaimed May 6th as "Ronnie Garvin Day" in Perry County. Local TV and newspapers did lengthy stories on Garvin last week. They, along with a state wide sports magazine, were there Saturday to interview and cover Garvin's Farewell to Kentucky. Garvin is the most over wrestler of the 70s and 80s of this region with his time in Southeastern and ICW Wrestling.

Jim Ross revealed in a new blog that he will be calling the upcoming WWE UK episodes on the WWE Network with Nigel McGuinness. As noted, the episodes will air some time this month. Ross wrote “I’m excited to announce that I will join the talented Nigel McGuinness to broadcast the recently taped, WWE matches from Norwich, England and these bouts will air on the WWE Network soon. Happy for this opportunity to call bouts involing new wrestlers, for me, and a new broadcast partner which freshens up all facets of the process. Stay tuned as to when these specials will be broadcast on the WWE Network which is still the best value in the land for only $9.99 per month. WWE has other bookings for me as well and we will announce them when they are completely finalized. So, “Business is Picking Up!” I am happy to say.”

The first "UK Championship Special" is listed to air on the WWE Network at 8pm Eastern on May 18th. The show is 90 minutes long and Jim Ross and Nigel McGuinness were previously announced as the broadcast team for it. The specials will feature footage from WWE's tapings in Norwich, England last weekend.

Rumors of A. J. Styles going to RAW have been circulating. He recently said “As far as the shakeup goes, I had no idea what was going on, I heard rumors as well, and I’m glad that they were wrong. Because, I hate when people know what’s going on in our business, it should be our business to surprise you, not your business for someone else to read on the internet. That actually, upsets me that some people know – whoever it is – in the office of WWE, can’t keep their mouth shut. But it’s fun for you guys to speculate and why ‘they need to be on Raw” or ‘they need to be on #Smackdown.’ That’s fun. And to guess, and then to not know- because WWE didn’t know until the last minute who was going where and I have no problem with that, because they [WWE] don’t know, neither does the internet. I think it [had] some surprises and that is a good thing.”

A. J. Styles recently spoke with Sky Sports about his desire to make the WWE United States Title equal to the SmackDown World Title. In short, Styles thinks that he’s capable of elevating the U. S. Title to a higher level by putting on the best matches in the world. Styles calls it his goal at the moment and that’s what matters most to him. “I’m excited about it. I think the United States Championship is as big of a deal to me as the WWE Championship, I’m just not in line for that right now and that’s okay. I set goals and being U. S. Champion is one of those and I want to make that United States Championship as important as the WWE Championship.”

A. J. Styles said his current WWE theme song may not have originally been for him. He said “I gotta be honest, when I told them kind of what I was looking for, cause as much I’m from the southern part of the United States, I’m not that much of a country music fan. Do I like it? Sure. But not that much. So I was like ‘Alright, just that little bit of country, but I love rap. So we’re gonna have to find a way with a cool beat.’ And they found a way to make it work for me. I don’t know that they had made that song specifically for me because I think it was made in NXT. But I think it fit me like a glove. Now I can’t imagine any other music I’d walk out to. It’s great man, I can’t say enough good things about it. It worked. I don’t know how or why it just did. I’m very happy with it.”

A. J. Styles recently talked about his friendship with The Undertaker and how he felt seeing him retire at WresleMania 33. He said “I can tell you I was emotional because he’s my friend. He and I have got a relationship between both of us have the same friend that we’re very close to, so he and I developed this relationship without even knowing each other that well. But it was heartbreaking a little bit because this is the guy that’s been here for so long and has shaped the WWE into what it is now. And, is he gone? I don’t know, but you would assume. I think there were some tears from the fans that were probably – they may have seen the last of The Undertaker. At the end of the day, if he’s done, I respect the heck out of him for doing it his way and doing what he wanted to do in his last match. He is everything to the WWE and I’m thankful I had the opportunity meet him and have a great conversation with him. he’s a great guy, and if he’s gone and that was the last one, he will be missed.”

On a recent episode of Jim Cornette’s Drive-Thru, Corney was asked by a fan why WWE never used the popular match concept. He said, “The War Games I heard because of production. Kevin Dunn said that it was hard to shoot for television, pay-per-view, or whatever. [It was] hard to follow for people. I actually don’t remember truthfully whether Vince has ever mentioned War Games in my presence or not. Cause it’s always just like a thing like: don’t pitch that, we’re not doing that.” Co-host Brian Last mentioned he had heard a rumor saying Triple H wanted to bring in the War Games concept a few years ago between Evolution and The Shield. But it was turned down for production reasons. Cornette said “I don’t know […] And I just can’t remember truthfully, it seems to be odd to me that I would have been sitting at [Vince McMahon’s] table for two years and never pitched a War Games to him. And I’m trying to remember if I did and if he gave me a reason why not. It’s just so much stuff. I can’t remember. He apparently don’t like it, or ain’t gonna do it."
