HBO Sports, WWE and the Bill Simmons Media Group announced today that they will produce Andre The Giant, a documentary film examining the life and career of one the WWE Hall of Famer. The announcement was done by Kevin Dunn, WWE Executive Producer, and Peter Nelson, Executive Vice President, HBO Sports. The ambitious and wide-ranging documentary film will explore Andre’s upbringing in France, his celebrated career in WWE and his forays in the entertainment world. “For more than 20 years, Andre the Giant’s larger than life personality and unique charisma captured the imagination of fans around the world,” said WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon. “I will always value our friendship, and I am proud to tell the story of the ‘Eighth Wonder of the World’.” Bill Simmons, who joined HBO in the summer of 2015 and founded The Ringer, will serve as an executive producer of the film. “Going back to 2007 and 2008 when I was creating and developing ‘30 for 30’ for ESPN, Andre’s story rode the top of every single sports documentary wish list I ever made,” said Simmons. “We always hear about unicorns these days - Andre was the ultimate unicorn. He’s a true legend. Everyone who ever crossed paths with him has an Andre story - and usually four or five. I’m delighted to join forces with Jason Hehir and WWE so we can capture Andre’s amazing story once and for all.” Emmy-Award winning director and producer Jason Hehir will serve as the film’s director. HBO Sports and WWE are partnering for the first time ever on this full-length signature presentation, which will combine never-before-seen footage and revealing interviews for a comprehensive and intimate portrait of one of WWE’s most beloved, yet largely unknown figures. Interviews will include WWE Superstars, sports and entertainment executives, athletes, media, family, friends and associates.

Sting made a tweet to promote the WWE Champions mobile game and commented on never getting to face The Undertaker. He posted the following and wrote, “In my entire career, the one opponent I wish I could have faced was The Undertaker! Now I can. #LetsSettleThis”.

Jerry Lawler will be hosting WWE’s “Best of RAW and SmackDown 2016” DVD that hits stores this coming week.

Contenders Clothing, a men's active lifestyle apparel company, has partnered with WWE to co-brand WWE boxer briefs called the WWE Contenders Collection. There will be adult and youth boxer briefs of John Cena, Roman Reigns, A. J. Styles, Dean Ambrose, Randy Savage, Ric Flair and Steve Austin. They will be available for order on February 21st.

Jeff Jarrett and Ed Nordholm, who are now running TNA, met with ITV Thursday in the United Kingdom. They were looking at a deal where Anthem would buy into the promotion and have certain roles. The goal is to make the ITV World of Sport show have television outside of the U.K.

The Warriors of Wresting promotion apologized to its fans for Rikishi not wrestling at their show last weekend. They sent out a post saying that they contacted him months ago, agreed on a price, he was put in full, made money from his autographs, and claimed that he then refused to wrestle on the show. The company wrote on Twitter, "We have never experienced something so blatantly disrespectful to the fans."

Vader posted a sad tweet regarding his health on Twitter: "As I enter my final days, proud of the Father Son Brother Football player Pro WrestlerThe Super Heavy Big Man Goat Im Grateful for the Time."

On Thursday night's episode of the NBC sitcom "Superstore", one of the female characters fell down and it led to a few lines about pro wrestling. The character said when she was a kid she wanted to be the Ultimate Warrior and had arm tassels and poofy hair.

Boris Saarikoski was in a car accident on February 14th. He received some minor injuries from the airbags deploying but nothing serious.
