JR's Blog: EC3 on Ross Report Tonight, RAW Feedback, NJPW, Abyss, Backlund on FoxSports.com, JR's Coming to Ingles Markets

Posted: Sep 30th 2015 By: Jim Ross

Greetings all! Tonight at 9 ET a new, Ross Report podcast drops on podcastone.com, iTunes and here on the homepage of this site. TNA Impact Wrestling Ethan Carter 3 joins me to discuss becoming an antagonist world's champion, his days in WWE and the Bound for Glory PPV TNA is promoting this Sunday October 4. It's a fun show with a young talent who is working hard t become a skilled villain and help lead his company to more stability. Subscribe to the Ross Report for FREE at iTunes and you won't miss a show and they will automatically download into the device of your choice. I also talk about such topics as Sunny's recent woes, a hot, Wrestlemania Texas rumor that doesn't include @steveaustinBSR, WWE Summer Slam decision and much more. Thanks for supporting our efforts on the podcast that the "boys" listen to.

In addition to the EC3 Podcast that drops tonight I also interviewed Bob Backlund and Abyss Monday night for future podcasts and they were two of the most compelling and interesting conversations that I've had with talent in a good while. Both air dates are TBD and that schedule is being addressed today.

The Q&A's here on the site are updated as of Tuesday midday. Submit your questions if you choose on any topic and I will attempt to answer them if I can.

Getting asked about me being a part of Wrestle Kingdom 10 in January and I have not heard a status report of the event as it relates to doing an English speaking PPV of it at this time. I'd love to be involved but that's not my call. I'd even enjoy doing English commentary on the NJPW big events throughout the year on their digital platform as well. I could do them at the events or in an audio facility in the States if necessary. Just an idea.

We have no more RINGSIDE w/ Jim Ross shows booked for this year due to Oklahoma football but we are getting plenty of offers for 2016.

Check out my Facebook story on Bob Backlund almost becoming the NWA Champion in 1977 before he became WWWF Champion in 1978, It's a quick albeit unique story/read. We're at JimRossBBQ on Facebook. My Backlund story on www.foxsports.com is getting a ton of hits.

Next week on the Ross Report I welcome Steve Corino to the show where we will find out that he thought I disliked him for over 20 years which obviously wasn't true and we got a good laugh about it. Steve is a funny guy with some amazing stories and experiences in the wrestling biz. Corino and Kevin Kelly do a stellar job broadcasting ROH Wrestling every week on TV.

We hope to be in all the Ingles Markets throughout the Southeast USA, over 200 stores, by November as they have made their first order. We are hugely excited about this development and feel certain that it will lead to getting us into other major, grocery store chains.

RAW Thoughts:

Enjoyed the physicality of the main event between Reigns and Wyatt but wasn't wild about the countout but at least WWE attempted to add to the closing visual of a brawl which helped me somewhat. Plus the main event segment felt fresh.

Creative booking to give New Day a 'rub' utilizing John Cena and the Dudley's. I'm still of the mindset that New Day, based on the way they are booked and how they execute, will never be hot, heat inducing heels but they, at best, will be annoying bad guys.

Bo Dallas needs heel oriented vignettes badly. Good kid and has an upside but the present creative being utilized for the 3rd generation talent isn't resonating with me.

Interesting push for MSG on this show which is a unique and likely effective way to get the TV audience to want to invest their time and money into the WWE Network.

Would have liked for the US Title Challenge to have returned with more impact. Cena can breath new life into this championship as he did before he lost it to Rollins.

Charlotte needs the women's spotlight which will facilitate the 'chase' from the other women who seek to be champion. Seems as if WWE is trying to get too many of the ladies over at one time and that won't work. They hae assembled the best female roster in the company since the Attitude Era nonetheless. In a nutshell, I guess I expected more from the WWE women on this episode of RAW as they have become one of the freshest aspects of the show.

I assume that Kane is going to be a nostalgic, fan favorite but I can't be sure based on what I've seen. I'm a Kane fan and am biased as it relates to the man and the persona. Could Kane be heated up enough to face Undertaker at Wrestlemania Texas? Personally, I'd love to see a personal issue between Cena and Taker for the mega event.

Really like Luke Harper and he, like Cesaro, seems to be undervalued and underutilized. Head scratcher to me but there could be plans for them of which I'm totally unaware.

I do think that RAW has lost some of it's spontaneity and needs to not be quite so formulaic.

I watched the show on DVR as usual and find that I'm much more objective about it when I don't sit through the entire three hours and endure the duplicity of so many of the same commercials.

Total Divas season finale will be tonight on the E Network. Wife and I will be watching.

Visit www.wweshop.com and www.americansoda.co.uk to order JR's online with fast, easy home or office delivery.

Have a great day!

Unique way to utilize Heyman and I had mixed emotions on that segment but I obviously realize why it was there...Madison Square Garden.
