The Scoop

NEWS
Jake ?The Snake? Roberts was at WWE TV studios last week filming future content for the WWE Network. He tweeted several posts about his hip that has been giving him trouble:

-Headed TO WWE TO WORK ON SOMETHING NEW FOR THOSE ON NETWORK. You know it will be good. Can't believe how much pain hip is putting out.
-Hip may make me miserable and you might be able to also. I guarantee I will not make myself feel any worse by using or drinking. BE STRONG
-WWE TODAY can't believe how emotional I got just driving by. Memories crashing thru me and stomach churned. I forgive myself but I remember

Regarding the injury that Sting suffered at WWE Night of Champions, we do know that Sting?s neck is not broken. He was taken to a hospital after Night of Champions and was able to walk but was not well. An MRI he underwent did not show any fractures to the neck, according to Wrestling Observer Radio. Furthermore, PWInsider notes that there was also some concern within WWE of a spinal injury. We don?t know what the prognosis on Sting is yet but it?s possible he could have wrestled his last match, at least for a while. WWE officials will likely be leery of putting Sting back in the ring. As noted, Sting did not appear on last Monday?s RAW because he went home to Dallas, TX to rest and recover. It was also noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that the finish that happened with Sting vs. Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Title was the planned finish but they just went to it quicker because of Sting?s injury.

Amazon has dropped the price on WWE?s ?Sting: Into the Light? DVD and Blu-ray that comes out on October 13th to just $17.99. The Blu-ray is going for $31.46.

Mick Foley posted on Facebook about Sting's injury "It's an old adage in boxing: the legs are the first to go. Well, in wrestling, the neck may not be far behind. My son asked me about Sting's injury ? how something like a turnbuckle bomb, that so many wrestlers have shrugged off, could be the move that ends Sting's career I thought about it for a while, and also thought about how many ordinary moves taken late in my career ? moves that would not have phased me when I was younger ? ended up in injury; concussions that took days, weeks, or even months to rebound from. It may just be, that as we age, we lose the neck strength necessary to keep our chins talked firmly to our chests, in a way that protects us from whiplash like injuries ? be it on the turnbuckle, or on the mat. Hopefully, doctors and scientists who study neck and brain injuries, will take a look into this, so that injuries like the one to Sting on Sunday can be prevented . I don't think anyone is at fault here: not Sting, not Seth Rollins, not WWE But I do think we need to address the reasons why older wrestlers are getting hurt more frequently, doing the same moves they bounced back from easily in younger years."

Outspoken WWE Divas fan Mick Foley wrote on Facebook that he believes Paige?s heel turn promo from last Monday?s RAW was just what the Divas Revolution needed. Foley also wrote how he would like to see the term ?Divas? replaced by women?s wrestling when the time is right, ?feeling that the time will be right soon.?

Later in the week, Foley posted on Facebook "Last night, I was asked a simple question during the Q&A part of my show in Philadelphia: "if you were in charge of ?#?WWE?, what one change would you make?" I gave a simple answer. Push Cesaro. I'm not trying to create controversy or be a pain in WWE's neck - but the recent treatment of this guy on TV is downright baffling to me. Besides, as long as I said it, and it will be reported on (which I'm pretty sure it will be) you might as well read it here first. I know Steve Austin has been an enthusiastic Cesaro - WWE supporter. Maybe he needs a little bit of help. Maybe my opinion will mean something. Maybe yours will too. Tell me about your favorite Cesaro - WWE match. Give this post a like and a comment..maybe even share it - and we'll see if a few thousand comments on the Foley Facebook page (which I KNOW the WWE front-office reads) might make a difference."

Mick Foley was plugging his upcoming stand-up shows on Facebook and mentioned that he talks about his famous feud with WWE Hall of Famer Terry Funk during the routine. Foley noted that he and Funk almost talked Vince McMahon into letting them do an exploding barbed-wire match from a remote location as part of a WWE pay-per-view.

Dustin Rhodes & Cody Rhodes will be presenting the trophies on Wednesday to the winners of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Tournament at NXT. No word if they will be dressed in their Goldust and Stardust gimmick or as themselves.

Lucha Underground sent out a release that Shawn Hernandez has been released from his contract. Hernandez showed up on TNA's "Impact Wrestling" as part of The Beatdown Clan. Lucha Underground claimed he was still under contract to them and TNA took him off TV despite Hernandez claiming he was a free agent. The disagreement ended up indirectly costing TNA the entire Beatdown Clan. MVP was fired since he was the guy who recruited Hernandez, to replace Samoa Joe, who left TNA because TNA could no longer afford to give him the kind of contract he'd had over the past several years. Since then, Kenny King and Low Ki also left TNA.

NWAClassics.com is currently featuring The Dirty White Boys (Tony Anthony & Len Denton) vs. Brickhouse Brown & Tony Torres. Earlier in the week, they were featuring Dusty Rhodes & Junkyard Dog vs. Ted DiBiase & Kamala in a Dog Collar/Bullrope Match.

Former WCW star Glacier recently spoke with AL.com to promote his match at an Alabama Wrestling Federation charity show last week. When asked about his childhood hero Dusty Rhodes, he said "He was such a driving force in my life. I got married in 2003 and he was a groomsman in my wedding, which was a huge honor. Dusty was one of those guys you just knew who had a magnetic personality. He was a great guy and he was Dusty Rhodes all the time. Sometimes the volume was turned up, sometimes it was turned down. He could be an ornery old Texan, too. I went to his memorial service in Tampa. It was sad. We lost one of the greatest ever. But it wasn?t just a sad occasion, it was a celebration of his life. That is the memory he wants to leave this world with ? how much I entertained you and made you laugh. If you look at Dusty, you felt he was immortal. Him and (Rowdy Roddy) Piper both. I don?t know if it?s fully sunk in with me. I still have his name in my cell phone." The full interview can be found by clicking here.

The preliminary hearing that was scheduled for Jimmy Snuka on October 21st has been rescheduled for Wednesday, November 7th at 10am in Allentown, PA. Snuka was arrested on September 1st for the May 1983 death of his then-girlfriend Nancy Argentino. Snuka has been charged with involuntary manslaughter and third-degree murder.
