The Scoop

NEWS
Sting will be traveling to the United Kingdom for three Q&A events similar to people such as Jim Ross, Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart, and others do. The former WCW champion will be at The Lyric Theatre in London on October 5th, at The Comedy Store in Manchester on October 6th, and finally at The Garage in Glasgow on October 7th. Limited VIP tickets will include an autograph as well as a photo with Sting with his face painted. Tickets will go on sale on Friday, July 24th at 9am local time. No prices have been released yet. They will be available through InsideTheRopes.co.uk.
Undertaker and Sting will both be part of WWE advertising for SummerSlam on 8/23 in Brooklyn. Details of their postions and matches on the card is not clear other than both are part of advertising that has already been cut. The only thing we've heard is that Sting was scheduled to wrestle in a match but that the original plan for the match has had to be changed.
On the latest "Wrestling Observer Radio" it was reported that there have been plans for Luke Harper to get involved in the Bray Wyatt-Roman Reigns feud. Meltzer also indicated that this angle may be where Sting makes his return. It was also noted that Sting is set to be involved in the same match as Bray Wyatt at SummerSlam, unless plans change.
As seen at WWE's "Battleground" on Sunday, Luke Harper reunited with Bray Wyatt to help him defeat Roman Reigns. This is the storyline where Sting is expected to make his return. While a tag match with Sting & Reigns vs. Wyatt & Harper is expected at "SummerSlam", it may be a six-man match as the original plan was Sting, Reigns, and Dean Ambrose vs. Wyatt, Harper, and Erick Rowan but Rowan is out of action with an injury. Dave Meltzer noted on the latest "Wrestling Observer Radio" that we may see a new Wyatt Family member introduced because Rowan is out. On a related note, WWE is hoping that fans won?t boo Reigns because he will be partnered up with Sting but with "SummerSlam" taking place in New York City, they could easily boo Reigns and cheer Sting.
WWE will release their ?Sting: Into The Light? DVD and Blu-ray on October 13th. The set will feature a documentary with new footage as well as matches. WrestlingDVDNetwork.com has revealed the first matches for the set:
-Sting?s WWE Debut (Survivor Series 2014)
-Sting vs. Rick Rude (WCW Clash of Champions XXI; November 18, 1992; King of Cable Tournament Match)
-The Freedom Fighters vs. David Johnson & The Invader (Memphis Wrestling; November 1985)
Backstage visitors at WWE's "Battleground" pay-per-view on Sunday included Bob Orton, Jr., Harley Race, and Ric Flair.
At "Battleground", Ric Flair's daughter Charlotte defeated Brie Bella and Sasha Banks in a Triple Threat Match. You can see a photo of Flair with his daughter, Paige, and Becky Lynch by clicking here.
The former ?Divas of Doom? Natalya and Beth Phoenix reunited this past weekend. You can see a photo of the reunion by clicking here.
Figures Toy Company has reached an action figure deal with Tama Tonga of New Japan Pro Wrestling. The list of those they have deals with in their new set are A.J. Styles, The Young Bucks (Nick Jackson & Matt Jackson), Brian Myers (AKA Curt Hawkins), Cliff Compton, The Blue Meanie, Doc Gallows, Amber Gallows, Joey Ryan and Kenny Omega.
Bill Behrens, who books for A. J. Styles, said that Styles being on a poster for a October 4th Superstars of Wrestling show in the United Kingdom is false advertising and that they have asked the promoter to remove him from advertising, and said promoter Matt Jarrett had not done so as requested.
