NEWS
WWE has opposed a trademark for ?Sting? in the United States. Sting International Pty. Ltd., a company from Australia, is trying to trademark the name here in the US. WWE has until September 30th to file an opposition or ask for another extension.

WWE updated their Key Performance Indicators charts last Tuesday with DVD sales information on the top five titles of the last nine months or so. Slam City tops the list in a surprise with 119,000 units, followed by WrestleMania 31 at 92,000, The Best of Sting at 88,000, Attitude Era Vol. 2 at 83,000, and John Cena's Greatest Rivalries at 62,000. So you can see why they're high on more Slam City-esque content when not only is it among the most-watched programming on the network, but it moved DVDs as well.

ECW Press, through their Marketing & Publicity Coordinator, announced in an e-mail sent to several wrestling websites that the publication of the book The Iron Sheik: Listen Jabroni! has been cancelled. ?WWE and ECW will continue to partner on more titles in the future, including an autobiography of Pat Patterson, set to release in June 2016,? the small statement read. There was no explanation given as to why the book was canned. The Iron Sheik?s story can be seen in a documentary titled "The Sheik" which is being streamed on Netflix.

Jeff Jarrett and his wife Karen returned to "Impact Wrestling" last Wednesday night in the surprise of the night and Jarrett announced that he would be part of the King of the Mountain match at "Slammiversary" this past weekend. Sporting a Global Force Wrestling t-shirt, Jarrett said that he got the call last week from TNA management and was asked to come back for one more match. Jarrett recounted his glory days in TNA and all the good times at the Impact Zone but since April of last year all he did was work on GFW. His wife Karen cut a promo and said that Jeff didn?t go out of TNA the way he wanted to and this time, he?s going out his way, in his match. Jeff Jarrett announced his resignation from TNA Wrestling on December 22, 2013, and was completely gone by January 6, 2014. He remained an investor in TNA. On television, Jarrett was fired in December 2012 after he was defeated by Jeff Hardy in a steel cage match at "Final Resolution". You can see a behind-the-scenes video of Jeff Jarrett?s return to TNA by clicking here.

In a video interview with ImpactWrestling.com, Jeff Jarrett explained why he returned and what it means for him to be part of "Slammiversary" this past Sunday. ?I?ve got hundreds, maybe thousands of memories of the Impact Zone,? Jarrett said, recounting some of those memories. ?It?s sort of surreal,? he added, saying that the promo he cut in the ring was as real as it gets. It was a tough decision to leave TNA and start up Global Force Wrestling and he will be giving out more information about his new company as time progresses but this week it?s all about "Slammiversary". He said this is the 13th year anniversary of the company he co-founded with his father Jerry and he?s fortunate and blessed to be given this opportunity and will make the most of his last TNA match and go out the right way. Jarrett said that it?s no secret that there were a lot of ups and downs between the Jarrett family and TNA over the years but he doesn?t want to bring up the negatives and look only at the positives. He?s excited to have this chance and get closure this Sunday being part of the King of the Mountain Match.

Since returning to TNA on last week?s "Impact Wrestling", there has been a lot of speculation about Jeff Jarrett going into the TNA Hall of Fame this year. As noted, AJ Styles previously turned down the offer. It was revealed at Saturday's "Impact Wrestling" tapings in Orlando that Jarrett will indeed be inducted this year. Jarrett will join Sting, Kurt Angle and Team 3D in the Hall. The ceremony with Jarrett?s induction actually took place Saturday. It will air on either the July 29th or August 5th Impact Wrestling. The induction was done by Dixie Carter and Mike Tenay.

It looks like Jeff Jarrett and Karen Jarrett will be appearing on the episodes of "Impact Wrestling" that air in late July or early August. Jarrett revealed that he was at Saturday night?s tapings. He tweeted "Walking back into the #ImpactZone ... Looking forward to tonight with @karenjarrett ..."

While details are still sketchy with everything regarding the Jeff Jarrett deal with TNA, it will include some form of TNA participation at the July 24th Global Force Wrestling TV tapings in Las Vegas, NV. Magnus is believed to be booked on that show and there may be others.

Dixie Carter confirmed on Twitter that she inducted Jeff Jarrett into the TNA Hall of Fame during Saturday's "Impact Wrestling" tapings in Orlando, FL. The ceremony should air in late July or early August. No word yet if TNA is still planning on doing an induction at this year?s Bound For Glory pay-per-view. Dixie tweeted "SPOILER: So proud to have inducted @RealJeffJarrett in to the TNA Hall of Fame tonight. No one more deserving."

PWInsider adds that TNA is very open to working with Jeff Jarrett?s Global Force Wrestling going forward. TNA is more of a TV promotion these days and are adjusting how they do business to fit the model that they use now. It?s expected that more talent situations like these will be happening this year. TNA will likely keep some top talents locked in but they don?t have the revenue they once had to be in a position to guarantee contracts.

There?s said to be a lot more behind Jarrett?s TNA return besides the Slammiversary match and more should be revealed soon. PWInsider also notes there?s nothing to any rumors of Jarrett being interested in buying TNA. Jarrett is focused on growing Global Force Wrestling and that?s where his future is. On a related note, Jarrett did not attend Thursday or Friday?s "Impact Wrestling" tapings.

Regarding the Jeff Jarrett appearance on Impact, we discussed it heavily on the radio show, but at least as of right now he is not in a position of power or ownership. He is scheduled to appear past Sunday as of right now, the as noted earlier, Magnus is scheduled to appear on the GFW TV show taped on July 24th in Las Vegas, so the sides are working together. The deal did just come through and it was hilarious backstage as all the people who had for the last year plus made fun of Jarrett were all acting like they were his long-lost best friend. The morale of the wrestlers wasn't good, feeling the company wasn't being honest with them by hiding it. They already had credibility issues with talent. The deal really did come together in the last week and wasn't finalized until the day of. While not confirmed, the belief is that Jarrett was brought in to be this year's inductee into the TNA Hall of Fame after A.J. Styles turned down the offer.

A real key thing which Jeff Jarrett clearly said to get insiders talking was mentioning how he had just talked with his friend Toby Keith two days earlier.

The rumor going around is that Jeff Jarrett will work with TNA past this Sunday?s Slammiversary pay-per-view and it?s possibly that Jarrett will be the next TNA Hall of Fame inductee this October. It looks like Jarrett?s return is not only good for TNA, but Jarrett has apparently secured some TNA talent to appear on his Global Force Wrestling shows in the future. Jeff and Karen Jarrett?s arrival on Wednesday was kept secret to everybody in the locker room, including TNA champion and Karen?s ex husband Kurt
Angle. According to several rumors floating around, Angle wasn?t too pleased with the ?blindside.? Jeff and Kurt had a pretty rough time in TNA for a while which also led to the temporary suspension of Jeff Jarrett after he was outed that he was going out with Angle?s wife. Eventually all three sorted out their personal problems and worked together for the best of the company. There are also rumors that Jarrett will be taking a controlling interest in TNA, basically a role reversal of the current situation where Panda Energy controls the majority of TNA while Jeff is a minority investor. These rumors are just that and at the moment there?s nothing to them. Jarrett?s future is pretty much Global Force Wrestling and his return to TNA was simply to go out the way he wanted to go out in the first place and get some talent to appear on his shows in exchange.

Jeff Jarrett was not at TV Thursday, nor was he expected there Friday.

There were reportedly good things about this past weekend's "New England Wrestling Fan Fest". Apparently the promoters put Jim Cornette and Eric Bischoff's tables in close proximity to each other, which sounds like an adventure.

This past week, Dusty Rhodes was on the cover of Globe Magazine and Kevin Nash, as part of the cast of "Magic Mike XL", which opened last week, was on the cover of People.
