JR's Blog: Hardyz on Ross Report Podcast, Sting rumors, Thoughts on Surviror Series Sunday, More Lesnar

Posted: Nov 23rd 2014 By: Jim Ross

Rainy Saturday with lightning here in Norman which as delayed kickoff between OU and Kansas at least 90 minutes. Gives me time to hit you with this short blog on Survivor Series weekend that I will be watching on the WWE Network. Then Monday Pro Wrestling Torch founder Wade Keller and I will tape a review the Survivor Series event plus the other major pro wrestling happenings for Tuesday nights new, Ross Report on podcastone.com and iTunes. You can also hear the latest Ross Report podcast right here on our website as it's located on the front page where all my scheduled guests are listed through January 2015. Rainy day but let's grill...

My conversation with both Matt and Jeff Hardy on the current Ross Report podcast is getting rave reviews as one of our best ever podcasts. I hope that you will down load it for FREE at podcastone.com or iTunes plus you can listen to it here on the homepage of my site.

It's amazing that some weeks that nearly a million fans or more download our show. I owe that all to each of you that support our Podcasting efforts. I am grateful.

My Twitter timeline lit up Friday night with the conveniently, timed info/rumor that Sting would make a 'surprise' appearance at Sunday's WWE Survivor Series. I have no idea it that's true or not and I'd have preferred if the info, true or not, would not have leaked out. I'm not a major fan of the "Jardine's" aka spoilers. I'm a Sting fan from back in the day and believe that if his first and perhaps only match in WWE is at WrestleMania 31. The man has earned a WrestleMania Moment without question.

With the weather conditions ashey are and a KU team that's improving and has zero to lose Saturday in Norman, I don't see OU covering the 25.5 point spread.

If forced to make a prediction, I'd go with Team Cena winning the Survivor Series main event Sunday in St. Louis which provides WWE the opportunity to truly set the reset button and create some new scenarios that are due with the build to WM31 beginning to commence. If so, Im curious to see how HHH and Steph are repositioned as WWE needs star power and they provide that more than many of the talents.

Seems like Bray Wyatt could win the Wyatt-Ambrose match to keep the hero on the chase or perhaps WWE is going to cut this storyline short, move on and have Ambrose win and revisit Ambrose vs. Wyatt later and closer to WM 31.

My thoughts on the possibility of Brock Lesnar returning to the UFC have seemingly resonated among some. Lesnar is a true jock....not an entertainer....and in the UFC he can be involved in a main steam sport of which he covets while still making big money for working few times a year. I think the amazingly gifted athlete longs for the competition and to see what's left in the tank after his battles with diverticulitis. Perhaps with the additional TV dates that Lesnar has agreed to is for him to lose the WWE Title on Monday Night RAW where the most fans would see it. Who knows?

My new agency in LA working on voice over work for me is ecstatic with how our new venture is being received. I'm hopeful that doing commercial and other voice over work will be a major component of our 2015.

The film that I did last summer in LA entitled 'What Now' has created a buzz within the film world and the enhanced trailer that I saw was funny as hell. If All goes well, we may being doing another film in February which would be another comedy. 'What Now' has a ton of pro wrestling overtones that fans are going to enjoy.

No other match on Sunday's Survivor Series other than the two aforementioned ones really jump out at me but at times those are the ones, with lower expectations, that surprise us. Hope that's the case Sunday. The talents must approach it that way for sure.

I could see Nikki Bella upsetting Divas Champ AJ Lee who's arguably still the most talented, all around, non, 'Total Divas' on the roster.

Been loving watching matches featuring IWGP champion Hiroshi Tanahashi who is in the main event of the January 4 PPV emanating from the Tokyo Dome. This pay per view is going to be widely distributed. Hope you watch it and enjoy an old school, physical style pro wrestling return to PPV with all the whistles and bells one would expect for a major PPV ala WrestleMania. Tanahashi vs Okada reminds me of Jack Brisco vs. Dory Funk and Steve Austin vs The Rock when their rivalry was it's hottest. Each day I get more excited abut returning to ringside to call one more major PPV which could easily be my last one. Time will tell on that but I'm sure looking forward to January 4..

UFC's Conor McGregor having a twitter war with Sheamus is a nice way for McGregor to introduced his heel self to WWE fans who might buy a UFC PPV to see the talented @TheNotoriousMMA get silenced. It's called marketing and promotion.
