JR's Blog: Saturday Blog, Bobby Lashley, Impact Wrestling/ROH Need Biz Relationship, Angle vs. Rusev?, WWE HIAC, Ross Report Podcast

Posted: Oct 26th 2014 By: Jim Ross

I invite you to go back and catch up on the many blogs that I've written the past week or so covering a variety of topics. Plus, I've updated the Q&A's here as well at Ask JR. Please share our site with others and know our support is sincerely appreciated. Let's grill.....

Random thoughts from here and there....

Find it amazing that some simply refuse to believe the truth on some topics and would rather believe a half assed, contrived story that they read on some obscure website about some matters that I address here.

Heading soon to Edmond, Oklahoma to do a signing and to promote our JR's products in the Crest Food store there, just north of OKC.

Perhaps a New Japan Wrestling rep will drop by and purchase some JR's sauces to entice me to sign a broadcasting deal with them for Jan 4. (Come on, it's a little funny.)

Nice win for Impact Wrestling's Bobby Lashley Friday night on @Spike TV MMA card. Bobby's pro wrestling skills have also improved greatly over the past several months.

If Lashley were a free agent would WWE consider signing him as a potential opponent for Brock Lesnar? My guess is no. Hiring part timers isn't WWE's deal.

When I said that I had no issues with Lesnar not appearing on every RAW I never dreamed that he would be absent for weeks/months at a time. This arrangement isn't advantageous but if it's the hand dealt then other talents should be being pushed to the moon to get over especially the impotent IC and US Titles.

Is there any reason that ROH and Impact Wrestling should not have some sort of amicable, working relationship that would create new paydays for their talents in addition to structuring more TV time for key players. It would not have to be promotion vs. promotion necessarily. However, having no working relationship or synergy makes less than zero sense to me for those two organizations that could use every edge that they both can muster to build their respective businesses. It would get Impact on syndicated TV while getting ROH stars on cable thus theoretically making stars more viable with timely exposure.

Getting tons of Kurt Angle questions about him returning to WWE. Firstly, I do not know. I do know that he would have to pass an extensive physical and wold have to work more dates than is Brock Lesnar for the matter to make sense for WWE. I'd love to see Kurt finish up in WWE but it's not as easy as it sounds on paper. Angle working with Rusev and Rusev going over would help make the younger heel.

Speaking of Rusev, I'd book him as the new US Champion in a heart beat.

Don't know nor do I care who closes the show at HIAC Sunday in Dallas but it would help the perception of the younger Ambrose and Rollins to do the honors. Orton and Cena are over and don't need to close yet ANOTHER PPV unless there is some major angle involved in the works.

We are working on more dates that we did in 2014 for next year regarding our one man shows. We hope to announce some dates soon.

Devoting most of next week to working on our book. We're about 50,000 words in with miles to go before we sleep.

Curious to see the booking on TWO HIAC matches in a PG world come Sunday. I'm guessing Ambrose and Orton win...and I do mean guessing.

No Sooner football this weekend...I'm lost...

Check out my HIAC story at FoxSports.com.

We had a huge breakthrough this week on a major new business venture that I hope to be able to talk about in the next couple of weeks.

Excited to be potentially doing many more college speaking gigs in 2015 along with several corporate speaking engagements.

The film 'What Now' in which I had a role has wrapped and I will keep you posted on when and where it can be seen. Lots of wrestling cameos and wrestle speak in the comedy. If all goes well, I may be doing another film in February. I've been offered a role. More to come on that one.

The voice over I did for Grantland's hoops show this past week for ESPN has gotten us some amazing feedback and potential, new opportunities.

Have a great weekend and I will be live tweeting WWE's HIAC and then reviewing it on next week's Ross Report podcast with Pro Wrestling Dot Net's Jason Powell....@prowrestling.net.

Just because you asked....giving a wrestler creative control is pet coon goofy for a variety of reasons.
