NEWS
The new WWE DVD "Best of Sting" was released today and it has a career retrospective that runs from his Mid-South days through the final episode of "WCW Monday Nitro". But of interesting note, one of the pictures of Sting on the back of the DVD box, is not actually Steve Borden, the man who portrayed Sting. It is actually of Jeff Farmer, who was nWo Sting in 1997. To see a picture of the back of the DVD, click here and then to see one of those same pictures as a WCW promo picture of Farmer as nWo Sting, click here.

WWE's Sting DVD was released today. There is no documentary as part of the DVD. It's three discs of matches starting with the UWF to NWA/WCW, including several matches with Ric Flair, as well as Steve Austin, Barry Windham, The Steiner Brothers (Rick Steiner & Scott Steiner), Dallas Page, The Great Muta, Butch Reed, Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, Bret Hart, Randy Savage, Jeff Jarrett, Booker T, and more.

Sting is the latest wrestler to tweet about WWE?s ?next generation? teaser for last night's RAW, adding to the speculation that the teaser is related to WWE 2K15. Sting posted on Twitter ?It?s Showtime. 9.22.14?"

According to the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, former TNA & WCW Superstar Sting has apparently signed a merchandise deal with the WWE, and his merch is currently being sold at house shows. While nothing has been officially confirmed by the WWE, Sting will most likely be at WrestleMania XXXI and will most likely wrestle his first and only match with the company there. If he does compete at WrestleMania, his opponent will most likely be Triple H, as Sting has commented recently that if he can't work with The Undertaker, Triple H would be his next choice. WrestleMania XXXI is still over seven months away, so a lot could change between now and then, in terms of what the WWE will want to do with Sting.

Legendary announcer Lance Russell was backstage at last night?s "WWE Monday night RAW" from Memphis, TN. Jerry Lawler brought Russell out in front of the crowd for a quick segment before RAW hit the air.

Ric Flair was released from a hospital in Gwinnett County, GA Thursday after a series of surgeries that resulted in a ten-day hospital stay. According to Jim Ross, Flair is ?doing well and is upbeat.? The 16 time World Heavyweight champion was admitted to the hospital last week to treat appendix and hernia problems. He missed the "NXT Takeover" special on the WWE Network where he was supposed to introduce Kenta and also missed the SmackDown tapings where he was set to referee a dark match. Flair will be resuming his WWE work next month.

Ric Flair will be on the WWE tour of Mexico in November.

WWE has reportedly requested The Honky Tonk Man to stop using his name, although Roy Wayne Ferris, the actual Honky Tonk Man, holds the US trademark. He posted on Twitter "HTM says to @WWE one more time WWE tries to stop HTM from using the HTM name,,HTM will go to the pay window in US Federal Court?"

Samu attended the TNA tapings in Bethlehem, PA with some of his students including Brute, Brandon Scott, and his son Lance Anoa?i. Reportedly, Anoa?i and Scott wrestled on Thursday night.

Eric Bischoff, Jeff Jarrett and Karen Jarrett spent some time together this week and Jeff posted on Twitter ?Great catching up with @EBischoff today? Been way to long!? accompanied by a photo that you can see by clicking here.

Charlie Haas, who announced his pro wrestling retirement back in 2013, has begun taking indy bookings again, mostly near his home in Texas.

The Baltimore Arena, home to many huge pro wrestling events including Sting's NWA World Title win over Ric Flair, Billy Graham's WWWF World Title win over Bruno Sammartino, and Ron Simmons' WCW World Title win over Vader, is changing its name to The Royal Farms Arena.

A fan on Twitter pointed out last week that Bill Goldberg was following Triple H?s Twitter account and asked if that could be a sign of his return to WWE. Goldberg unfollowed Triple H and wrote the following ?Thx for the heads up?.promptly UNFOLLOWED?
