Greetings to all from Norman, Oklahoma and here's hoping that everyone had a great weekend...we sure did with friends, food and @Oklahoma_Football. Let's grill....

Here's what's on my mind today...that we can write about...

Enjoyed meeting so many Tennessee football fans over the weekend. Very nice folks who represented their school in a classy manner. Another valid reason that I love college football.

Heading to Morgantown, W.V. this weekend to watch my Sooners step on the battle field with the WVU Mountaineers in what I feel will be a real dog fight or a modern day Hatfield vs. McCoy rivalry in Big 12 play. OU is favored by 11 which I feel is likely too much. Traveling that far as OU will and sitting around the hotel all day before playing a night game is daunting for the players.

Before the game on Fox Sports aka 'Big Fox,' I will be a guest on their pre-game show that will air from 6:30-7:30 eastern time. I will be on the field in WVU while the pre game talents will be in Los Angeles. Check it out.

My contributions to the @USAToday sports department's college football mock selection committee airs in the USA Today every Tuesday.

Considering that I know Adrian Peterson somewhat well, I know that he isn't the type of person to be an abuser of children. Did AD take disciplining his young son too far? I'd obviously say yes just as AD did. Rightly or wrongly, my upbringing was much more heavy handed that getting whipped with a switch of which occurred to me many times. I'd agree that there are many ways to discipline a child but leaving marks on them isn't one of them. I hope this issue is addressed with Adrian who has given much of his time and money to a variety of charities and organization since arriving in the NFL. We all make mistakes and the key is how we learn from those mistakes and then help others not repeat one's individual history.

Some former player's performances on their soapbox preaching about the AD issue was lame.

This week's Ross Report podcast is a special one for me as it features my mentor Cowboy Bill Watts in a no holds barred conversation about the wrestling biz and many other topics. No one I ever worked for had more in ring psychology and booking acumen than did the Big Cowboy. He was a disciplinarian who treated his wrestlers like athletes and not like they were show biz performers. He had structure in his company, a fine system and also one of the most profitable territories in America. Bill headlined MSG in his third year in the business much like @TheRock and @BrockLesnar.

It's free to download the Ross Report Podcast via podcastone.com and via iTunes. If you subscribe for FREE at iTunes you won't miss a show and every show is downloaded automatically for you. You subscribing for free on iTunes really helps us. Thanks to those that will or that already do.

Talking to JJ Dillon Tuesday for a future Ross Report Podcast. Looking forward to catching up with JJ who had an amazing career and he remembers most of it. :)

Expect tonight's Monday Night Raw to have a heavy dose of Lesnar/Heyman/Cena as that is the primary reason most fans will want to invest their time on the Night of Champions PPV that I will watch on the WWE Network. To say that NOC is essentially a one match event might be an understatement.

I think it would be interesting for some of the NXT talents to have a re-occurring role on RAW as it would help promote the future of the WWE which is the @WWENetwork. If fans can see what they are missing by not watching NXT on the Network they may be more inclined to invest the $9.99 month subscription fee.

NXT was the best WWE produced TV of the week last week in my opinion.

Still don't get why more WWE Superstars don't tweet what they are enjoying on the Network on a regular basis. Many young talents can learn from watching some of the great stars from the past as it's like being able to take a college course online.

Heard Ric Flair was in the hospital for some minor surgeries IE not considered life threatening. I've been told that Ric's issues were kidney related but that is merely a 'source says' matter and speculation but which might indicate a kidney stone issue or something of that nature. Nonetheless, I hope Ric gets better soon. I haven't talked to him in months but still have great memories of our time on the road together.

Speaking of Flair, his daughter Charlotte in NXT is special and is the best new, female in ring talent the WWE has trained in years. She's the type of talent that a serious, women's division, if that was desired, can be built around.

Nice to read where HHH is endorsing WWE finding star level NFL players to integrate into the WWE. I've been suggesting that for years and I hope that HHH can make it happen but it won't be easy based on entry level, WWE pay. Same goes for major college football players who are younger and more affordable than NFL vets and whose backgrounds can be vetted thoroughly as well. Obviously, one wants to find athletes from this world who are fans and have the aptitude for the business.

With all these various abuse issues occurring in the NFL I'd assume WWE will further tighten up their background checks, etc on new hires. All companies should but some companies can't afford to do so or won't see it as a priority because it's just "wrestling." Big mistake.

Our tee shirt business is booming at http://www.prowrestlingtees.com/jimross where you get a FREE Ringside with Jim Ross tee with each shirt you purchase. We have several new designs now available in all sizes and worldwide shipping is available.

Counting down the days until I return to PPV broadcasting on the Friday October 3 @GoBGmma aka Battlegrounds MMA event which sees the return of the one night, 8 man elimination tournament with the winner taking home 50K. Check your cable listings for more info. I will be broadcasting the event with Chael Sonnen.
