JR's Blog: JR's Monday Blog, Major Ross Report Podcast News, Reigns Build Has To Be Slow, Angst on Lesnar's Next Opponent is Unnecessary, VKM squats 500 Lbs on 69th B-Day!

It's hotter than a fresh fox in a forest fire today here in Norman, Oklahoma. But,what the hell, let's grill...
Big week in podcast land of @PodcastOne and @iTunes as I will have @TonySchiavone24 on the Ross Report which drops Tuesday night at 9 pm eastern time. Tony and I had a superb conversation and it was one that I thoroughly enjoyed. He's been grilling with JR's as of late too.
Thanks to all of those who tweeted and emailed me how much they enjoyed my convo with @SeanGrandePBP. Sean could make the transition to WWE from the NBA announcing seamlessly notwithstanding he'd be a great corporate candidate to be an executive officer in WWE as he's that smart and instinctive about the biz. If you haven't heard this podcast, check it out at podcastone.com or over at iTunes where I suggest that you subscribe to our podcast for free and you won't miss an episode.
Next week my guest for 90 minutes of heavy duty talk about the territory days of wrestling and the Japanese wrestling scene is the legendary Stan "The Lariat" Hansen.
Finally, I'm jumping on the Steve Austin Show this week on podcastone.com which is as much for our entertainment as any thing. I hope that you check Steve's podcast out this week and every week. @steveaustinBSR has more info as I think we are answering folk's emails, etc.
Some fans making a big deal that Brock Lesnar is SO strong and over that WWE has no one to challenge him in a believable way. Those that forget that sports entertainment is show biz forget that no one is unbeatable and great promotions for years have been getting talents ready to challenge the territories biggest star or stars. Bill Watts did it for years with the near bullet proof Junk Yard Dog among others. It can be done with smart booking and timely creative. This facet of the biz is more abut old school booking than it is what the creative department comes up with at least in my opinion.
Hogan pinned Andre with one body slam and a leg drop when many felt that Andre would never lose to Hulk any where or at any time. Even in Andre's heyday, The Giant lost matches but that was before national cable TV overlay reporting on news such as this along with no social media to exploit the info.
This I do know....WWE has be be very careful in how hard they push Roman Reigns as it's easy to push to hard therefore starting an unnecessary backlash. Defiant fans may just discover that's it's "cool" for them to begin booing Reigns for no other reason than to have their voices heard at TV tapings. That one is sad but true. See John Cena for a current example or 'Die Rocky Die' for an older example where fans booed someone for little or no reason. If Reigns doesn't make it to the finish line other talents will be inserted into that role and, who knows, perhaps Lesnar gets over so strong with his style and the current absence of enough heel traits to make him a villain that Brock becomes a fan favorite. Today's fans are hard to predict what they will like or not as many seem hell bent in being more of a part of the TV tapings then ever before with not only their signs but more lately their voices. Being anti establishment IE not wanting to cheer for heroes is unique in today's marketplace.
Anxious to hear the HOF panel tonight that is allegedly going to kick off Monday Night RAW...HBK, Hulk and Flair could be very entertaining if they aren't prisoners of a writer's pen and have to memorize their lines.
Vince McMahon texted me Sunday in response to me wishing him a happy birthday that he squatted 500 pounds on his 69th birthday which is freakish. I just hope that I'm alive and coherent when I'm 69.
Biz is great online for JR's at http://www.WWEShop.com, americansoda.co.uk and beyondtheropes.co.uk.
Autobiography coming along slowly but some interesting people are curious about it. Still mid 2015 is our target to release it.
I will be tweeting some RAW thoughts tonight and will blog more of that and more on Tuesday.
