The Scoop

NEWS
WWE has signed Jesse White, the son of former WWE and WCW superstar Big Van Vader. White did well in a recent tryout, and had been wrestling in Japan.

Dexter Hardaway was the guest on MWA Radio last Thursday. He did make his huge announcement that he had been promising. He will start as MWA ring announcer on May 6th in Spavinaw. He also gave some background of his training and career, and much more. You can hear the show by clicking here.

The all sports station in Raleigh last Tuesday spent a lot of time talking about pro wrestling because they had the Raw draft in the city the night before. Between the talk show hosts, local reports, and people calling in, when the subject of pro wrestling was brought up, most talked like they stopped watching and paying attention around 2001 or 2002. Among the reasons cited were WCW being gone, no superstars in the sports left after Steve Austin and The Rock stopped appearing full-time, lack of great heels like a young Ric Flair, and the believability factor being ruined, among other things.

Believe it or not, the current plan is to book another Jerry Lawler vs. Michael Cole singles match in three weeks at the next WWE pay-per-view, "Over the Limit" in Seattle, WA.

Injuries from Sunday night included Brodus Clay needing staples in the back of his head. Christian was also pretty banged up from the ladder match. Jim Ross' broken hand was hurting. Nobody is expecting to miss any time.

Michael Cole and Beth Phoenix have started a Twitter war so that could be building up a future program.

Jim Ross said in his blog that his X-rays on his hand were not encouraging, but he did compete at Sunday?s "WWE Extreme Rules" PPV.

Joey Styles posted on Twitter that WWE doctors confirmed that Jim Ross competed with a broken hand in the Country Whipping Match with Jerry Lawler against Jack Swagger & Michael Cole at "Extreme Rules" this past Sunday.

In the WWE Supplemental Draft held Tuesday on WWE.com, Jack Swagger and Beth Phoenix were both drafted to RAW.

Mae Young made an appearance at The Rock's birthday party on RAW last night. She was brought out by Vickie Guerrero and Dolph Ziggler as a joke, but Rock said he was glad to see Mae. Rock then said no matter how weight Vickie lost, she would never be as beautiful as Mae Young. He then thanked Mae for coming to his birthday party and gave her a kiss.

Despite internet rumors and speculation, Dixie Carter remains TNA president. However, her tenure as the TNA boss is considered tenuous. Dixie?s mother Janice has gained control of the promotion?s checkbook, but it should be noted that Janice is also the EVP, Secretary, and Treasurer for Panda Energy which owns TNA. The sentiment from those around the office is that if Dixie were to be relieved of her duties, Vince Russo and Terry Taylor would be elected to run the company. However, a source hinted that even though Russo and Taylor are not being big supporters of Dixie, they would prefer her to stay as opposed a new president being named, such as Eric Bischoff. You might remember the WCW incident involving Hulk Hogan and Russo, and even though it is said that the incident is behind them, there is skepticism of the forgiveness.

PWInsider.com is reporting that TNA's plan is to have the "Destination X" pay-per-view in July feature nothing but X Division wrestlers and matches. One of the hooks for the show will be to have former X Division wrestlers such as A. J. Styles, Samoa Joe, and Christopher Daniels return to the division for one night. There has even been talk of bringing back former X Division workers who are no longer on the roster for one night. Styles vs. Kazarian has been talked about as the PPV?s main event.

Reports are circulating that TNA has talked about bringing back the Elevation X match to wrap up the A. J. Styles vs Bully Ray feud.

Despite rumors, Mick Foley did not appear on Raw for The Rock?s birthday celebration.

Mick Foley announced last week: "Two days ago, I announced that #10forRAINN had surpassed it?s goal of $40,000, and that I was hopeful of reaching the $50,000 mark. Within the last 24 hours, we have marched over the $50,000 mark, smashed through $60,000, and surpassed SEVENTY FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS! This is amazing news for everyone who has joined the fight to end sexual violence. Thank you SO much!"
