Thanks for dropping by and paying us a visit. Let's grill....

I will be flying to Mexico City this week to take part in a major, groundbreaking, WWE news event on Thursday afternoon. I, along with others from WWE, will be at Vive Cuervo Salon in Mexico City for the 3:30 pm event. It's FREE to the public but I suggest that if you are attending that you arrive early to secure your place in what promises to be a historic event for WWE in the tradition rich, grappling city of Mexico City. The doors open at 2 p.m.

This will be my first ever trip to Mexico City and one of which I'm exited. I am honored that WWE has chosen me to be such a significant part of this function that is sure to make headlines in the sports entertainment world.

Congrats to Hacksaw Jim Duggan on the announcement that 'Hack' is going into the WWE Hall of Fame this year. The Glens Falls, New York native is one of the distinguished, Mid South Wrestling alums who learned his skills under the watchful and demanding eye of Cowboy Bill Watts. Jim became a huge star in Mid South before venturing 'up north' to take his skills to WWE.

The former SMU Pony offensive lineman was one of the toughest men to ever lace his boots. After JYD departed Mid South, Duggan earned the role as the top fan favorite in the company. His rivalry with Ted 'Million Dollar Man' DiBiase in Mid South was big time and was highlighted by their infamous 'Sharp Dressed Man' tuxedo matches for the large Cowboy who loved physicality and true, reality based TV.

Once in the Sam Houston Coliseum Duggan was rammed, I think by the One Man Gang, into the ring post. Unbeknown to anyone, a large bolt extended out of the steel ring post which found itself embedded into Hack's head. It was a nasty gash with plenty of blood but to the best of my knowledge Jim did not miss a single booking and the collision only served to PO the former New York State amateur wrestling champion.

Jim Duggan is a cancer survivor and is extremely deserving of WWE Hall of Fame honors.

Here's a few answers to questions posed here on this site and on Twitter @JRsBBQ:

We have no plans at this time to introduce a dry rub but if I can facilitate it and replicate the dry rub we once sold we will definitely consider it. I'm a big, dry rub fan.

The Road Warriors are certainly deserving of WWE HOF honors and this could well be their year in Atlanta. How could anyone of sanity not think that the Legion of Doom would not be WWE HOF worthy?

Haven't heard any health updates yeah or nay regarding Blackjack Mulligan. Perhaps others can help us with this matter. I do know that Jack Mulligan is a man's man and a bigger than life character who was recruited by the likes of Bear Bryant coming out of high school as a big, raw boned lineman in football. Mulligan is known as one of the all time great promo guys in the biz because he simply was himself with the volume amplified.

No, I am not surprised that it wasn't Sting being revealed on Raw Monday night. I think that I made it about as clear as I could that I did not think that Sting and WWE were negotiating but if they did, and both were of the same mindset, that a deal could be done in the future. It takes two to tango in these negotiations and sometimes things are simply not meant to be or they come along at the wrong time. Who knows what the future holds?

Yes...I am a big Sting fan and a bigger fan of the man behind the paint for those asking.

Yes....if Michael Cole accepts Jerry Lawler's WM27 challenge and that is the WM match that King gets to have I know that Jerry will be MORE than pleased with it. Some have questioned if Jerry would truly enjoy stepping in the ring with Cole in Atlanta and on that one I can unequivocally say 'Oh, Hell Yeah!' Lawler deserves a match at Wrestlemania as much as any athlete on WWE's roster in my biased opinion.

Plus, if it happens, The King will beat Cole like a government mule. :)

No...I don't hate Michael Cole. I also don't hate the screwdriver or hammer hanging in my garage which are also tools.

Can we stop with the TV14 questions? For some reason, folks think that because Rock and then John Cena got edgy with their in ring promos in recent RAWS that perhaps WWE is going back to a more risqu? presentation ala a TV14 format. I don't speak for WWE but going all the way back to TV14 would shock me. I'm not a guy who lives or dies by a TV rating but rather judges a wrestling, TV show by what I see in the ring headlined by high quality, physical wrestling action and not by the use of edgy language even though I do enjoy that too when effectively utilized. I will admit that in the past two weeks that I have been pleasantly surprised by some of the verbiage on MNR. I have grandkids and I would have had no issues with them watching Raw with me.

Have no idea if there will be a MITB Ladder match at this year's WM27. It's a helluva attraction but it also has its own PPV nowadays. TBD I guess.

The NFL did not want the XFL to succeed in my opinion. Why, is a question that I am unable to answer. The XFL was a spring football league that would have provided the NFL with some players, as they did in their only season of existence, for years to come and at affordable costs. NFL media sycophants loved to highlight what was wrong with the XFL but rarely were ballsy enough to point out that the XFL was providing football players with a way to return to the pro football radar.

Another emailer asked what King and I used to do in the commercial breaks of MNR, continue to call the action or not. We usually exhaled, regrouped, listened to instructions from those producing us & discussed what was still to come that we needed to address. More often than not King drew things on his format sheets. I have kicked myself in the butt a million times for not keeping all those cartoons he used to 'doodle.'

Yes...I loved John Cena's return volley to the Rock on the Fresno Raw. Cena was in rare form. A face to face, verbal showdown between the two would be classic some day. Cena is quick and Rock perfected his 'smack talking' playing college football for 'The U' long known for their great players who were brash athletes who loved to talk trash. I've seen this first hand in recent years when OU played the 'Canes.

We are inching toward 100,000 Twitter followers @JRsBBQ and a ton of them hit us Monday night after a couple of JR references by the announce team. I thought the Josh Mathews line about me doing PXP for the Abe Lincoln vs. George Washington bout was funny. It wasn't original but it was funny. For the record, I really like Josh's work.

Didn't you love how Cole sucked up to Mr. McMahon when the 'Voice of WWE' but put himself ahead of other WWE HOF'ers such as Gordon Solie and Gorilla Monsoon in the pecking order of broadcasters of the genre? Cole can say he's better than me all he wants, and he well may be, but when he whines that he's better than Solie and Monsoon it becomes laughable.

I agree that when you mix our Main Event Mustard, our Chipotle Ketchup w/ sweet, pickle relish on a grilled 'dog, burger, or steak sandwich, etc that its' unbeatable.

It's actually 'vintage' if you smell what I'm cooking.

It's been years since I witnessed a more effective TV segment on any wrestling program where not a word was said as I experienced Monday night between the Undertaker and HHH. Amazing stuff for this old schooler as the two, future WWE Hall of Fame icons sold tickets and PPV's with their eyes and well earned reputations. This segment was so good that I went back and watched it again and then had to show the 'moment' to my wife when she arrived home.

Yes....our Beef Jerky is now in a bigger, 2.5 ounce, re-resealable bag and it's more moist and flavorful than ever. Seems as if the low fat, low carb snack has really developed a following of which we appreciate. Thanks to those that suggest our products to friends and that have become 'regulars.'

For the few idiots who blasted me on some ham and egger website that was forwarded to me to read regarding the viability of Friday Night Smackdown going live every week, I will once again remind you that you are still misinformed. Having reviewed the numbers/financials over the years plus the fact that the vast majority of the WWE's outstanding TV crew are free lancers who cover sporting events on the weekend, producing TV on Monday and Tuesday is the only financially feasible alternative that there is. These free lancers are not going to sever ties with other major accounts to get 1 days work per week. When these people can work a Sun-Mon-Tues for WWE it makes sense for them and WWE. That gives the men and women the other days of the week for other 'bookings.'

I'm not saying that Friday night is or isn't the best night for any TV show, likely isn't, nor am I saying that Smackdown couldn't go live on Tuesday nights, theoretically, but that's not what the network wants at this time. Could that philosophy change some day? Of course it could.

Did Michael Cole step over the line Monday night when he spoke of Jerry Lawler's recently deceased mother? Many of you think that he did. I was very uncomfortable with the remark but my wife gasped when she heard it. It would seem to me that specific subject matter will likely not be revisited in upcoming weeks but if it is it won't be without controversy. Very touchy subject matter, without question.

Again, looking forward to visiting Mexico City this week for what should prove to be a major day for WWE. I hope to see some of you Thursday afternoon at Vive Cuervo Salon (Lago Andromaco 17, Colonia Granada) for an exciting and eventful time.

Please take the time to visit our store. Gracious.
