NEWS
On January 15th, Tyler Bateman will be teaming with Funny Bone and Joe Gacy to take on Ryan Kidd, Jaysin Strife, & Akira Tozawa at the Magnum Pro Wrestling/Dungeon Championship Wrestling event in Newhall, CA. It will mark Bateman's 10 year anniversary in pro wrestling.

Jack Swagger vs. Randy Orton is one of the matches that will be on WWE's "Best of Raw 2010" DVD. Also the 3 disc set will be a "Piper's Pit" segment with Roddy Piper interviewing Randy Orton and John Cena. On the Blu-Ray exclusive content will be a Jack Swagger vs. The Undertaker match.

A Jack Swagger action figure will be included in Mattel's "WWE Series 9".

Jerry Lawler worked a WWE house show Sunday night in Memphis. He teamed with Mark Henry and beat CM Punk & Husky Harris. Punk did a promo saying that he beat Verne Gagne in his hometown and would now beat Lawler in his. It should be noted that Gagne retired when Punk was still in diapers. Later, Punk posted on Twitter it was one of his "bucket list" things to wrestle Lawler in Memphis, so now he just has to face Steve Austin and he can retire.

According to reports, both Edge and The Miz are currently scheduled to go into WrestleMania this year as the World and WWE Champions respectively. There has been talk of doing a quick title change from Miz and back to him with hopes that it would boost the Raw rating but nothing is set in stone. The four way originally planned for Royal Rumble with Miz, Jerry Lawler, John Morrison, and Randy Orton is now set to take place on an upcoming edition of Raw most likely after the Royal Rumble PPV.

LexGo.com has an article on the Smackdown brand house show in Lexington, KY. They talk to Cody Rhodes and James Caldwell about some of the current WWE stars and who from the past they remind them of. Rhodes said Kofi Kingston reminds him of Pedro Morales. Rhodes said people compare him to Rick Martel or Rick Rude, but he sees himself closer to Gino Hernandez. You can read the entire article by clicking here.

For what it?s worth there has been some discussion over the last week or so about who will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in April. The names brought up most frequently among WWE people are agents Arn Anderson and Dean Malenko along with Lex Luger, Ron Simmons, The Honky Tonk Man, and former women?s wrestler Debra Miceli who performed as Alundra Blayze in WWF and as Madusa in WCW.

Wes Brisco, son of Gerald Brisco and currently in WWE's developmental program, recently underwent knee surgery with Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, AL. He was scheduled to join WWE's main roster in just a matter of days when he was injured at a house show in December.

As mentioned on TNA's "Genesis" pay-per-view on Sunday, A. J. Styles is indeed injured. He posted on his Twitter account that he tore a hip flexor and according to reports he is expected to miss about four to six weeks worth of action. Abyss took his place in the match with Douglas Williams at the PPV and captured the TNA World Television Title with help from Styles.

A. J. Styles is off the upcoming TNA European tour due to his hip injury and will be replaced by Kurt Angle. Samoa Joe is also not booked on the tour but had said he would be ready. Angle, Ric Flair, Jeff Hardy, RVD, Mickie James and Mr. Anderson are booked as the headliners on the tour.

Karen Angle, the ex-wife of Kurt Angle and now the wife of Jeff Jarrett, made her return to "TNA iMPACT!" at last night's TV taping, making her first TNA appearance since July 2008. Her return will be in an angle with Jarrett and Angle as Jarrett will announce his "retirement" from MMA with his wife by his side, taunting Angle at the pay-per-view saying that finally, the three of them are going to celebrate together. Karen left the company to concentrate on her family and was then in the center of a controversy when an anonymous TNA employee called in on the Bubba "The Love Sponge" radio show and revealed that she was sleeping with Jeff Jarrett. The news led to the suspension of Jarrett and continued the real-life rivalry between him and Angle. Jeff and Karen have been married since August of last year, almost two years after getting the divorce from Kurt. She has two children with Kurt, ages 8 and 4.

Jakks Pacific announced their lineups for upcoming TNA action figures.

Dutch Mantell posted on Twitter last week: "Just heard news that Guy Coffee, long time Memphis wrestling figure found dead of an apparent suicide. He was a good man. RIP Mr. Coffee"

The Bluefield Daily Telegraph in Bluefield, WV ran a story on Monday about a wrestling promoter that was arrested for not paying the wrestlers. Ernest Mack Shell of London, KY faces 10 counts for obtaining services on false pretenses. There were 26 wrestlers in all including Jim Neidhart, Dallas Page, Chase Stevens, Chance Profitt, J. D. Maverick, and April Hunter. You can read the entire story by clicking here.

NoArk Championship Wrestling's January 8th event in Marble City was once again canceled for a townwide coon hunt. Their December 11th show in Marble City was canceled for the same reason.

For those who remember Carolinas wrestler Johnny Heidemann, who just turned 90, he's been hospitalized over the holidays and has to eat with a feeding tube.
