JR's Blog: JR To Receive Thesz Award..Shipping Info for the Holidays..Main Event Mustard's on its Way..Survivor Series Thoughts..Bedlam!

Thanks for stopping by and paying us a visit. The grill is hot so here we go with a quick collection of random thoughts and updates.

Huge honor for me to receive the Lou Thesz Award from the Tragos/Thesz Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame next summer in Iowa. I truly humbled to be associated with the great, Lou Thesz in any manner and look forward to my first visit to the Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame in Iowa. My deepest, most sincere thanks to the selection committee and i hope that Lou would have been pleased as, like many of the men that I respect so much like Dan Hodge and the Brisco Brothers, Lou Thesz meant a great deal to me in my formative years as a teen and upon entering the business.

Hope to have our new, JR's Main Event Mustard in stock next week if all goes well. This awesome new product will come in a 12 ounce, plastic bottle with a squeeze top lid and is the perfect tag team of Jalape?o and Honey Mustard. JR's Main Event Mustard has NO FAT, NO CHOLESTEROL, and has only 1 gram of carbs. We will be making it available in a variety of ways including a three pack, in our Sampler and by the case. Stay tuned and I'll keep everyone posted.

In the meanwhile, remember that Federal Express won't guarantee Christmas delivery for orders shipped after December 17 even though Federal Express Ground, which is what we use, normally gets to most places in the USA in 2-3 days. Bottom line is to order early and often and we will do our best to get your order to you on a timely basis and perhaps even with a little surprise. :)

Oklahoma at Oklahoma State is a massive college football game for us Okies as ESPN's Game Day will be set up in Stillwater Saturday which should help put the Poke fans in even more of a frenzy. The winner plays for the Big 12 title in Dallas on December 4 likely against Nebraska who beat OSU by 10 earlier in the year in Stillwater. The Cowboys are red hot, have a prolific offense, and seem to be a team of destiny. For OU to bus up to Stillwater and beat Okie State, it won't be easy and, as Gorilla Monsoon used to say, "Highly Unlikely." I will be on the Sooner sideline pulling for my team but the reality of the matter is that the Sooners must play an essentially flawless game especially on defense to win this one. I'm not waving a white flag here by any stretch but I'm simply being realistic. Nonetheless it's great for the State of Oklahoma and a rousing way to end the Thanksgiving, college football weekend.

The Q&A's here on our site have been updated if you need new, additional reading material.

Cox Cable of Oklahoma had the Survivor Series for $44.95 and wife Jan and I watched it Sunday night....."in the comfort of our own home."

If I live to be a hundred, I will always know where I was when Oklahoma help put Boise State on the college football map the night the Broncos upset OU in OT at the Fiesta Bowl a few years back. What a game and what a finish. BTW I was in Miami, the site of Sunday night's Survivor Series, anguishing in my hotel room while watching in solitary the 4th quarter and OT of the Fiesta Bowl after working on Monday Night Raw highlighted by Cena vs. K-Fed.

The conclusion of the Survivor Series seemed to provide more questions than answers regarding the focal point of the promotion, the free or fired stipulation put on John Cena. One has to assume that there will be significant follow up on this matter on Monday Night Raw from Orlando. Will we be surprised at what we hear on Raw? Will Cena indeed be leaving WWE? How could Cena be reprieved?

Like I said, more questions than answers as it should make for a compelling MNR.

Enjoyed some of the younger talents, in WWE years, Sunday night on PPV. Some guys took advantage of their minutes which is essential and absolutely mandatory especially for young talents trying to establish themselves on the next level.

Thought the PPV started well with Bryan vs. DiBiase. Young Ted is more effective when he is overly aggressive and I enjoyed this match. I'm also a fan of Daniel Bryan and his style.

Good to see Kaval compete in a WWE PPV bout after all his year's of paying his dues. I like Kaval's style and have always been a fan of Ziggler's in ring work. Dolph had some excellent bouts with Rey Mysterio a year or so ago and I feel that Kaval could also really light it up versus Rey down the road.

Morrison vs. Sheamus featured two men that WWE has seemingly advanced more at this time than some of the aforementioned athletes and Morrison upsetting Sheamus surprised me. I did not see that one coming which made the match end up being more enjoyable. IMO Morrison has a 'touch' of a young HBK in him in some shape, form or fashion and we can only hope that some day Morrison will be compared to the legendary Shawn Michaels in more detail. However, there are miles to travel before that might happen as performers like HBK come along once in a generation if we're lucky. Nonetheless, the more physical Morrison is the better I personally like him as opposed to the more 'finesse' version of Morrison. John was very physical at Survivor Series.

Sheamus is a keeper, without question, whose best days are obviously still ahead of him even though Sheamus has had a taste of what it's like to be WWE Champion. And, yes, I get the fact that Sheamus is the first "Irish born WWE Champion." Got it. Check. 10-4.

Good to see Beth Phoenix back on TV and congrats to Nattie Neidhart for winning the Divas Title. I would love to see WWE be able to put more time into the Divas area of the promotion as we get tons of emails from folks who are fans of the female athletes. Nonetheless no one can wave a magic wand and recreate the magic that Trish and Lita, among many others, possessed back in the day.

The irrepressible 'Sign Guy Rick' was sitting at ringside in his normal, WWE event attire. I don't know how he does it but 'Sign Guy Rick' scores great seats while traveling around the country to support WWE. Rick was a semi regular when we had our BBQ joint as I think that he's from the Dallas area and is a really nice guy and a HUGE, WWE fan. He even got a man hug from John Cena last night.

Sporting News Radio's Todd Wright was also in attendance in Miami. I guest on Todd's national radio show from time to time and may be on this week talking OU vs. OSU Bedlam Football.

Speaking of radio, I will be on the air this Wednesday on http://www.sportstalkam1400.com in Norman at 4:30 pm with James Hale and then on http://www.1560thegame.com Wednesday at 6:10 p.m. with Sean and John in Houston. You can listen to both programs on line.

BTW the crimson colored Koozies that we are utilizing for FREE, promotional items are really popular. Check out our store as we have many packages that offer the FREE Koozies along with other, signed swag as a thank you for shopping with us.

We appreciate your support and look forward to your next visit. Thanks!

Boomer Sooner!
