Maximum Wrestling Alliance announced that "MWA Radio" will be going to a bi-monthly schedule. Their next show will air this Thursday night, October 2nd at 10pm with scheduled guest, Jake Boulder.

Howard Stern talked about the Linda McMahon campaign. Gary Dell'a'bate said how he gets slick mailings from the McMahon campaign daily and nothing from her opponent Richard Blumenthal. They talked about WWE firing 10% of its work force last year and Stern said, "Wouldn't that be a positive? That she was running a company and made some hard cuts to make it more efficient?" They talked about how McMahon should hire former wrestlers to badmouth her in ads, mentioning the Iron Sheik.

According to a report by PWInsider, it was Vince McMahon?s call to have Michael Cole plug Mick Foley?s new book Countdown to Lockdown on commentary during "WWE Monday Night Raw" on September 27th. Reports state it was done as a nice gesture to Foley out of respect for all he had done for WWE. McMahon has been in a good mood regarding WWE Legends of late as he was also the man behind the Bret Hart Appreciation event at Madison Square Garden recently.

When WWE's Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler plugged Mick Foley's book, Foley posted on his Twitter: "Wow! Hearing my name on Raw last night was really flattering and kind of surreal". Foley's book will contain 336 pages and will tackle his tenure as a television announcer for WWE, his ups and downs with Vince McMahon, making the move to TNA, and much more.

Mick Foley?s book Countdown to Lockdown was released last week in bookstore across the United States as well as in digital format. This will be Foley?s fourth wrestling-related book with his previous three being bestsellers which landed him on the New York Times bestseller list on more than one occasion. In a very extreme rare case ? just like when Foley?s book was mentioned on RAW this past Monday ? Joey Styles at WWE.com conducted an
interview with the hardcore legend to talk about his book, his conflicts in WWE with Vince McMahon, announcing and much more. ?A professional conflict with Vince McMahon is the reason you?re no longer with WWE. And who was it that offered you the opportunity to promote Countdown to Lockdown on
WWE.com?? asked Styles. ?From what I understand, it was Vince McMahon?s decision to mention the book on Raw, and it was his decision to offer me the opportunity to talk to WWE.com,? replied Foley. ?It is literally among the craziest things I?ve ever heard of. [Laughs.] I think it?s unprecedented,? he added, mentioning that it shows the kind of respect Vince has for him. You can read the interview by clicking here.

Jeff Jarrett met with officials from Mexico based wrestling fed Asistencia Asesor?a y Administraci?n the weekend of September 24th and 25th in regards to exchanging talent. There are reports that Zorro has signed a deal with TNA and is expected to debut as part of a new faction with Abyss. TNA is also interested in using both Extreme Tiger and Jack Evans while AAA is interested in using TNA World Tag Team Champions The Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley).

TNA was trying to drum up interest for last weekend's show in Columbia, SC, had Jeff Hardy, Jeremy Borash and Shannon Moore put on Twitter they would be giving out backstage passes for the show in front of a store, so many people showed up in the parking lot that the manager of the store called the police. Police were called and it was quite a scene. The funny thing is the same police who were called to break up the mob showed up at the show and were getting photos taken with the wrestlers that night. Ric Flair worked the show Friday night and apparently, even though he and Jeff Hardy were the most over (nobody in TNA touches Hardy for popularity right now), Flair tried to put A. J. Styles over as the big star and not himself.

At the Brad Paisley and Darius Rucker concert Saturday night in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada before Rucker took the stage, there was a video on the big screens of Ric Flair introducing him, using the kiss stealing, wheeling dealing, limousine riding, jet flying line.

"The Spin Cycle" with Jeremy Borash, A. J. Styles, Matt Morgan, Angelina Love, and Shannon Moore talk tattoos as well as who should be in the "Bound for Glory" main event, and their favorite and least favorite wrestlers on Twitter. You can view the show by clicking here.

Tommy Dreamer, Mick Foley, and Team 3D (Brother Ray & Brother Devon) were interviewed by TNA at the house show in Philadelphia, PA at the old ECW Arena. You can see the interviews by clicking here.

The month of October has once again spurred the annual discussion of Sting?s future with TNA Wrestling with his deal set to expire at the end of this year. As with the last few years, Sting comes in mentally prepared to have it be his final year until Dixie Carter talks him into committing for one more year. What might be interesting about this year are two factors: the fact that Sting reportedly has less interest now than he ever has about going another year and the looming possibility of an involvement with WWE next year for the Hall of Fame during Wrestlemania 27 weekend in Atlanta, GA. Sting is expected to be offered his usual $500,000 a year deal and has always worked limited dates for TV tapings and PPV events (he never works house shows), so most feel it will be pretty hard to turn down. He has been bothered all year by a nagging shoulder injury, thus limiting what he can do in the ring. Most feel if he doesn?t re-sign with TNA that he will be invited to be part of next year?s WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2011 with Wrestlemania 27 being held in Atlanta and the Hall of Fame carrying on a ?past WCW stars? theme. One source close to Sting added however that the WWE Hall of Fame is almost a non-factor to him in his decision to stay or leave TNA and is not someone who cares about the Hall of Fame.

In an article from Sky Sports magazine entitled "15 Classic Sporting Showdowns", Hulk Hogan vs. Sgt Slaughter from WrestleMania VII was fifteenth and this is a direct quote: ?They met at WrestleMania VII in an event tag-lined as ?Stars and Stripes Forever?, one of the best match-ups professional wrestling has seen for a while?.

Lots of the WWE wrestlers were at the Texas vs. Oklahoma football game last Saturday. Jim Ross of course was on the Oklahoma sidelines while Mark Henry and Cody Rhodes were on the Texas sidelines. Other wrestlers were in the stands on the Oklahoma side. Mark Nulty noted on Wrestling Classics a couple of days ago that this game, which is a religion in those two states, will be the first one Skandar Akbar (a Texas high school and college football trivia machine) and Jack Brisco will have missed.

Charlie Haas wrote the following on Twitter on Monday: "WWE creative is a joke. Way to kill off Daniel Bryan. Your brightest youngest star. Michael Hayes must have written this sh*t. Please retire. There is great talent in WWE, they just don?t know how or refuse to write for them all. When the Monday night wars were going on, everyone on the roster had a story line. From Crash Holly to Stone Cold. Its an easy formula. Look at ROH everyone on the roster has a story line and is used. Not to be biased, but facts are facts. Every wrestler is unique and brings something to the table, that is what is great about the pro wrestling business. I?m not done. But am done talking about WWE creative. New chapter. A lot to be thankful for. I am thankful for WWE time and the WWE fans. All Japan, ROH, JAP, NWA, Perros del Mal, and WGTT tour in France. What a way to finish the year. And a chance to work with Lagana and Corny.

Ring of Honor has posted a video on You Tube of The World's Greatest Tag team (Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin) vs. ROH Tag Team Champions The Kings of Wrestling (Claudio Castagnoli & Chris Hero, w/ Shane Hagadorn) from ROH's "Glory by Honor IX" event in New York, NY. You can view the video by clicking here.

Christopher Daniels returning to Windy City Wrestling, where he got his start in 1993, at "Battle of the Belts" on Saturday night at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, teaming with Baily Mannix vs. WCW owner Sam DeCero & Mike Anthony. Daniels noted he's never wrestled against DeCero. In the story, Daniels said his all-time favorite match was the 2005 three-way with Samoa Joe and A. J. Styles at the TNA Unbreakable PPV. Abyss is also booked on the show. You can read the entire story by clicking here.

Roddy Piper stars in a new comedy video where he is fighting childhood obesity, literally. He uses chairs and bodyslams on both children and adults. It is quite comical. You can view it by clicking here.

ESPN's Chris Berman recently called Roddy White of the Falcons Rowdy Roddy Piper White" and called Sammie Strougher of the Cubs "Sgt. Strougher".

Matt Diaz of the Atlanta Braves was on ESPN "First Take" last Monday and asked about tripping a fan who ran on the field, which allowed security to catch the kid. He said he wanted to spear him like Goldberg, "but lawsuits kept flashing in my mind, so I just stuck out my foot and let him trip."

Bob Orton, Jr. was a guest on "Right After Wrestling" last night with co-hosts Arda Ocal and Jimmy Korderas. Among the subjects he discussed was getting a kick out of seeing his son wrestle the kids of the men he himself wrestled like Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase, Jr., etc., his favorite guys to tag with, and much more. You can hear the full 13 minute interview by clicking here.

The wrestling movie "Vision Quest", considered by many the best of the amateur wrestling movies of modern times, and "Over the Top" with Sylvester Stallone and Terry Funk are both available on Netflix instant streaming.

Killer Tim Brooks is now hosting a live web show called "The Boneyard" on USTREAM. You can interact online, chat, and ask questions while the show is being hosted. You can view the show every Thursday at 7pm at UStream.tv/channel/pilot-Killer-Tim-Brooks-Boneyard-Show.

After Doberman defeated Texas Red to become the new NAWA Texas Heavyweight Champion, Doberman's tag team partner in the Oklahoma/Mexico Connection, Pablo Chuco, came to the ring while Doberman was celebrating. Doberman extended his hand for a congratulation, but instead had it slapped away. Pablo told Doberman he had to forfeit the title back to NAWA promoter Killer Tim Brooks because they were a team. Doberman refused to give up the title and a shoving match ensued between the two, ending when Doberman clocked Pablo with the belt. Doberman got on the mic and told Pablo if he wanted the belt, he'd have to take it away from him. Brooks then made the match for next month, Doberman vs. Pablo Chuco for the NAWA Texas Heavyweight Championship.

Johnny Mantell's Wild West Wrestling will be holding a unique pro wrestling tournament from April 29th to May 1st in Muenster, TX, with a series of 32 man brackets put in by weight classes. Instead of winning and losing, the matches will be judged by a series of veteran wrestlers including Chavo Guerrero, Sr., Terry Funk, Stan Hansen, Booker T, and Bob Orton Jr. This is the concept Eric Bischoff had years ago for wrestling but it apparently has never been implemented. Nick Bockwinkel wanted to do something like this as well. The overall winner gets $1,000 for training school and a free trip to the Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame induction ceremony a few weeks later in Amsterdam, NY.
