Got a call Saturday morning on my way to the OU scrimmage from Joel Watts who is living in Tulsa and works for the Outdoor Life Network. Joel was really a head of his time in the video production world, particularly in wrestling, and helped Mid South and UWF in a big way with the overall 'look' of the TV program. Being the step son of the large Cowboy wasn't an easy task. Joel was also a former broadcast partner of mine.

Met a fellow last week that might be able to help us convert our early 90's WSB Radio shows into CD's and perhaps get them on ITunes or something along those lines. These shows featured many well known guests back in the day as well as telephone calls from fans from the 37 states that AM750 WSB covered on those Sunday night programs. This is a project that we want to see come to pass as I feel that many fans, young and old alike, will enjoy these audio blasts from the past.

Summer Slam thoughts the day after....

The return of Daniel Bryan was both a shocker and a very pleasant development on the PPV. The much traveled and highly skilled veteran made an impact on his few weeks of TV time prior to his release from the company. The MMA aficionado showed definitive signs of brilliance during his in ring time at Summer Slam. A very strategic maneuver by WWE to bring Bryan back into the fold and I'm anxious to see how Bryan evolves.

The return of the Undertaker was a boost to the PPV. The Undertaker is one of the few, long term, incumbent stars WWE has on its roster and whenever the 'Deadman' is on a show it is a plus in my eyes as it relates to legit, 'star power.'

The 7 man, Elimination Tag, added to the return of the Undertaker, made the last hour of the PPV special.

I enjoyed the tag which closed the show as predicted. I had no issue whatsoever w/ who won the bout as long as the contest itself was well executed and it was for my money. I've been around too long to get wrapped up in win/loss records but am a stickler for execution and the main event was well executed.

Miz took more steps forward on his way to becoming what seems to be an eventual, long term residence in main event land in WWE. It's easy to see Miz continuing to evolve and then becoming a vital part of the mix at WM27 in Atlanta. Miz has come a long way since his WWE debut and that's a by product of his hard work and him mentally investing into the art form of the genre. Miz truly wants to be a star and one might even surmise that Miz 'needs' to be a star. That's the proper trait for one to possess in any form of entertainment or sports that all big time players need to have.

I thought CM Punk left Summer Slam in good shape and I also think that he will have solid bouts w/ Big Show if that's where this issue is heading. Punk has truly gotten better and better since arriving in WWE and is one of WWE's most dependable assets as Punk can have a good to great match with anyone. He's also a tough guy who has a unique style.

Bret Hart kicking it up a notch was an eye opener. I don't ever expect to see Bret on the road much or even back in the ring as a wrestler that often but what I saw in Los Angeles Sunday night really surprised me and in a very favorable way. Bret's physicality and spring in his step was surprisingly good and I really enjoyed his time in the ring.

Chris Jericho had one of the most stimulating and dynamic interludes of the entire tag match just prior to Y2J getting eliminated. Jericho ignited the crowd and re-engaged the live audience to a fever pitch during his extended, offensive flurry. Jericho was like a maestro in how he played the audience for a hectic albeit short period of time.

Melina's ring attire would have made Elton John or Clay Aiken take a second look. Very creative attire to say the least.

Nexus is still extremely relevant in my eyes contrary to what some fans have said in emails to this site. Too many people are taking for granted the fact that these 7 are essentially rookies in WWE, have miles to travel before they sleep....as main event stars, and were placed into an extraordinary position being thrust into the main event at Summer Slam. I did think that Nexus would pull it out and upset Team WWE going into the show. I was wrong. But I do think that this faction has healthy 'legs' and can do just fine going forward. It's easy for any of us to be a Monday morning quarterback but I like what Nexus has represented thus far and their upside. Nexus is in a marathon and not a sprint as the process to achieve resident, main event status still remains a multi year procedure.

Again, I'm told that beef prices are about to go up somewhat so if you're a JR's Beef Jerky customer you might want to think about placing an order sooner than later.

I hope that you will take advantage of the case price promotion we are getting ready to launch. Smart shoppers are sharing a 12 item case with friends or family and saving money. Plus our products make great gift ideas too.

Thanks and hurry back and see us. The Q&A's are updated and awaiting your arrival.
