NEWS
As reported last week, Michael Barry was a guest on WrestleOutLoud.com's "The Kingpin & 13 Show" last Thursday. Among the subjects covered was his start in the wrestling business, his training with Sonny Myers, the life of an independent wrestler, hoping to make it big very soon, a night out with Chris Candido at a T.G.I. Friday's in Tulsa, and Excellence Personified. To download or listen to a podcast of the show, click here. Be aware there is some very strong adult language.

Speaking to the Associated Press, WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon said that his wife Linda's opponents in the U.S. Senate race are taking "unfair shots" at WWE to try and discredit her. McMahon was angry that clips of footage from WWE TV shows are being taken and used out of context. Clips used include Linda kicking Jim Ross down under, the necrophilia angle with Triple H, Trish Stratus barking like a dog in her underwear, and more. McMahon added that they conveniently left out the "soap opera" build up to those moments. He also admitted that WWE makes mistakes and that's why they turned to TV PG.

There is talk of WWE releasing a 3 disc set dedicated to both Andre the Giant and The Big Show for a possible 2011 release.

WWE has released the lineup for the forthcoming Chris Jericho DVD. Amongst the matches included is Jericho vs. Cactus Jack (ECW Hardcore TV, March 12, 1996)

Sgt Slaughter was recently a guest on "Right After Wrestling" and spoke on several subjects including who he usually golfs with on the WWE roster, traveling North America while he was an Iraqi Sympathizer during the golf war in 1991, how he got connected with GI Joe, how he enjoys his role as WWE Ambassador and much more. You can listen to the archived show by clicking here.

Sgt. Slaughter was on FAN 590 in Toronto Wednesday, plugging a golf tournament for the Canadian Cancer Society that he's appearing at. He also plugged "SummerSlam" as well as a September WWE house show in Toronto. He said his favorite moment in wrestling was turning face to feud with the Iron Sheik. He said today's wrestlers are better athletes than in his day, they have doctors and three days off per week. He said since Sheik needs a cane to get by, when he sees him, he calls him the Iron Shepherd.

On the TNA web site last Friday, when listing title histories, A. J. Styles was still listed as TNA champion, Rob Terry as Global Champion, Matt Morgan & Hernandez as Tag Team Champions, Madison Rayne as Knockouts Champion (the only one correct) and The Beautiful People as Knockouts Tag Team champions.

Mick Foley had a meeting with executives from Union Square about his life story becoming a movie.

Mick Foley posted the following on Twitter: "Hardcore Justice really delivered the goods last night! Great atmosphere in the Impact Zone and backstage -lots of support from the boys."

There was a cameo appearance by Mick Foley in the new A&E reality show "Twisted" starring Dee Snider of Twisted Sister fame and his family. Mick appears in the episode "Baptism By Snider" in which Dee has his grandson's baptism in the backyard of his home in Long Island. The event is attended by numerous family and friends, and Mick Foley can be seen among the crowd in the backyard, but is never acknowledged on camera on who he is. He is seen standing next to J. J. French, another Twisted Sister band member. Foley calls Snider one of the three famous people he considers himself legit friends with, along with Kevin James on TV's "King of Queens" and Sarah Hughes, the figure skater.

Jim Duggan was inducted into the Capital Region Football Hall of Fame on Friday of last week, but was unable to attend the induction ceremony in Latham. NY because he has prior commitments. The Albany Times Union has a piece on the inaugural Capital Region (High School Football) Hall of Fame and mentions Duggan's college and professional football career and of course his time in pro wrestling. You can read the article by clicking here.

Mr. Wrestling II was thought to have suffered a heart attack last weekend while at the "NWA Legends Fan Fest" in Charlotte, NC. Reports say he is in serious but stable condition but is expected to make a full recovery. Later reports indicated that it was not a heart attack as feared, but was diagnosed today with fluid buildup in his chest and caused pressure on his chest, and that he should be released from the hospital today or tomorrow.
