NEWS
WWE is advertising the main event of a SmackDown! event in Portland, ME as being WWE SmackDown! World Champion Jack Swagger vs. Edge. This seems unlikely as Edge was drafted to RAW last Monday

Jim Ross posted the following on Twitter last Wednesday: "I've had a blessed and amazing career full of unbelieveable experiences. This wk is memorable 4 what hasn't happened. Blessing n disquise?". As previously reported JR's contract with WWE expired on May 30th.

Jim Ross' WWE contract expired Friday, which will open the speculation on where he's headed. It seems TNA would have a lot better shot of signing Ross if they were doing 1.5 in the ratings right now instead of coming off an 0.5.

Bill Goldberg on Twitter when asked if he read Vince Russo's book: "Russo's a moron... I wouldn't waste my time reading it."

USA won the cable ratings race last week with a 2.3, to 2.2 for TNT and 1.9 for ESPN. Syfy was No. 18 at 0.8, while Spike was No. 21 at 0.7. The two hours of "WWE Monday Night RAW" were No. 11 and No. 14 for the week. The NFL Draft on ESPN (5.3) was first. Also beating Raw included episodes of "NCIS", "Pawn Stars", and "SpongeBob Squarepants" as well as a Los Angeles Lakers vs. Oklahoma City Thunder playoff game. For the first time, neither hour of Raw cracked the top ten in 18-49 or 18-34.

Flair will do a number of personal appearances related to the endorsement including May 8th at the Southern 500 race in Darlington.

Ric Flair and his wife Jackie are still together despite the recent domestic charges.

Rikishi wrote on his Twitter last week that he just "got the call" and is teasing going back to WWE or TNA.

Jonny Fairplay did an interview with the Sports Courier website. He discussed his love of pro wrestling and joked about his TNA run a few years ago. "I had fun there, but I don't think they ever understood the Jonny Fairplay character. I even went up to Jeff Jarrett once and told him I wanted to manage somebody. He said, 'Well go on the indies and start management.' I said, 'Jeff, I meant a wrestling manager for TNA, not an actual manager.'"

Vampiro wrestles for the first time in his home town of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada on May 15th against Hannibal, on a show that also includes Kevin Nash, Lanny Poffo, Scott Steiner, The Honky Tonk Man, and Terry Funk (who will referee the main event).
