JR's Blog: Tuesday Ramblings...JR @ AXXESS...Brisco @ NCAA's..UFC.."Damage" On Sale Now..Autographed Sauce Bottles

We appreciate you dropping by and paying us a visit. For those of you that are actually placing orders, we "bow down" and pay homage for your support. Now that the obligatory sucking up has concluded, we will get on with whatever is next...

Tune into AM1560 The Game in Houston, also available on the net, this Wednesday at approximately 6 p.m. for my appearance on the world famous "Sean and John Show." It's sports talk at its finest and if you don't tune in or listen on line then Sean and John's minions will hunt you down, pants you, pour JR's HOT BBQ Sauce on your "privates" and make you listen to the "Eyes of Texas" until you cry like a small, spoiled child.

My dear friend and fellow WWE HOF'er Gerald Brisco attended the recent NCAA National Wrestling Tournament in Omaha scouting for WWE. GB told me that he met several athletes who expressed a desire to explore their career options in WWE. Smart move by WWE to send Brisco to Omaha in search of world class athletes with marketable personalities. I wonder if any MMA groups had representatives in Omaha because if they didn't one has to wonder if they are really paying attention? Just asking...

Saw the Oklahoma women play the South Dakota State Jackrabbits Sunday night in Norman at the NCAA Sub Regional. The "Jacks" started five, blond, athletic women, as I so astutely recall, and STILL lost. What the heck?? SDS were well coached and played hard nonetheless and actually outscored OU in the second half. We'll see the Sooner ladies play UALR, that's University of Arkansas at Little Rock for you foreign folks, Tuesday night to see if OU can make it to the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA's. I have a great, off color "sweet 16" story I could insert right here but I can't, however, if you call my 900 #.....

I guess I was channeling "Mean Gene" for a moment as I will see Gene this week for at least one beverage.

BTW...womens hoops officials generally suck and one can easily see why they aren't working the men's tourney.

An emailer asked me if I liked the stipulation whereby a wrestler can win a cage match via escape. In the immortal words of tennis legend John McEnroe, "YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!"

Another emailer, a much respected USMC, told me that he dipped JR's Beef Jerky in his Chipotle Ketchup which is a shameless way for me to "plug" two of our products in one sentence.

I expect to Twitter my arse off this weekend from Phoenix in a variety of states of mind such as sleepy, goofy, grumpy, and most of the other descriptors of the 7 Dwarfs. These Tweets could provide interesting tidbits of "dirt" that we all need and love so much.

Really enjoyed UFC on Versus...dammit I wanted Bull Riding...Sunday night after the Sooners' hoops game. Johnny "Bones" Jones is a future big time, PPV selling star if he avoids injuries and doesn't get off the tracks of sanity and civil behavior in the immediate future. I like me some "Bones" as they say in the BBQ world.

Junior Dos Santos has "it." Plus, heavy hands and a natural, killer instinct. Don't know what Dos Santos has on the ground but thus far it hasn't mattered. It will some day. Love Junior's swagger. The UFC heavyweight division is evolving into something special but make no mistake about who the alpha male still is in that weight class. Brock Lesnar is still the baddest cat in the land TFN.

UFC TV folks nabbing a GSP, satellite interview one week before one of their top stars fights on PPV was timely. Probably sold a few PPV's on a weekend where PPV dollars are likely going to be flying. GSP is a class act and a great representative for UFC. That means he'll likely never be sponsored by "Condom Depot" not that there's any thing drastically wrong with that.

We have several new packages for your purviews in our on line store. Some include signed bottles of our sauces and FREE SHIPPING! Yes, I said FREE SHIPPING. (Sorry, I have no shame.)

Stone Cold is ubiquitous this week promoting his action/adventure film "Damage" which is on sale now on DVD. Steve will be on the East Coast this week including a stop off at Harvard University. The Mrs and I will be buying multiple copies of "Damage" to package with our own products for holiday gift giving for our "loved ones." What says that we love you more than a "Damage" DVD and some Chipotle Ketchup?? Exactly.

Yours truly has worked tirelessly to update our beloved Q&A section of this site. Please read them and help a brother out if you choose to use them on your own outlets. I think that you will enjoy some of the witty repartee that ensues in the latest batch of material.

My thanks to the Monday Night Mayhem radio crew for inducting me into their Hall of Fame Monday night. I appreciate all the crew and old friend Scott Hudson for such a positive experience.

I look forward to attending the WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony Saturday night. It's honestly one of my favorite, wrestling related events of the year. A close, dear, personal friend got us two, really good seats adjacent to the Hart Family Section which ended up being near Tucson. Hey, LOTS of Harts are attending as the patriarch of the family, Stu Hart, is being inducted. Gosh I wish Stu was alive to accept his award as his acceptance speech would be a classic and longer than Superstar Billy Graham's and might even get us into Sunday. BTW I'll be the guy with the fake tan and wearing a black hat sitting next to a very hot, younger woman who I have luckily been married to for 17 years this October right around the time that Oklahoma plays Texas in the Cotton Bowl. Whew....long sentence. I always had trouble with those damn sound bytes.

I found out a few hours ago that I have two appearances at Wrestlemania 26 AXXESS. I guess someone got sickly. Seriously ladies and gentlemen, I will be at AXXESS, just love spelling AXXESS on the keyboard, on Saturday morning bright and early from 8 until 10 a.m. and again Sunday morning for a brunch time appearance from 10 a.m.-noon. I am under the impression that these appearances are affiliated with the WWE Hall of Fame and that we will be signing autographs and giving bone marrow. That last part was just me being silly. I do look forward to seeing and meeting fans from all over the world at AXXESS. If you're at AXXESS, I can't help myself, this weekend drop by and say hello or "hey" as they often did back in the day in Mayberry.

Be well and remember to count your blessings and as Gorilla Monsoon used to tell me, "Okie, every day above ground is a good day." Amen, Gorilla, amen.

Ahem...the store is open for "bidness."

Boomer Sooner!
