NEWS
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that WWE is interested in working with Bill Goldberg. Not to wrestle, but perhaps to sign him to a legends deal and possibly put him into the WWE Hall of Fame next year with WrestleMania XXVII coming to Atlanta in 2011.

Andy Douglas announced his retirement from pro wrestling this past Saturday night after his Steel Cage Match against former tag team partner Chase Stevens at the Showtime All-Star Wrestling event in Nashville, TN. Douglas held the NWA World Tag Team Ttles with Stevens on 3 occasions and was co-winner of NWA Universal's Chris Candido Cup in 2005, also with Stevens.

There has been a lot of talk in the MMA world in recent days regarding Jim Ross broadcasting MMA after the interview with Jeremy Botter was published where Ross talked about how he would like to give it a try and what he perceives the weaknesses are in that genre, in particular that the announcers are trying to get too technical with their calls to satisfy the vocal hardcore fans, not realizing that they are talking above the head of the masses. That?s more of an issue on TV broadcasts than PPVs, as there should be a different approach to each, particularly on CBS where you have to go with the assumption a large percentage of viewers are not familiar with the sport.

Jim Ross also wrote on his web site that he doesn't believe he will be returning to weekly WWE television. Ross has said that he doesn't want to travel every week. "Would I love to work with King again? Certainly. Is this my call? Nope. Do I think that I will ever be paired with Lawler again on a regular basis? Highly unlikely." This is likely a new development since WWE was supposed to be getting back to Ross with their ideas of what they would want him to do if he were to sign a new contract. Ross' deal ends on or around 3/20, but he's also made it clear he is going to Phoenix for WrestleMania.

Jim Ross signed a short-term WWE contract extension. It?s being read that he's involved in some form with WrestleMania since he said it would get them past WrestleMania

A potential WrestleMania XXVI spoiler was leaked during a commercial for a live Smackdown event in Knoxville, TN on May 1st. It stated that Jack Swagger would ?defend his Money In the Bank Title opportunity against Kofi Kingston.?

The April edition of WWE Magazine will have 26 different covers in honor of WrestleMania XXVI. The following wrestlers are on the covers: Randy Orton, Ted DiBiase, Jr, Cody Rhodes, John Morrison, R-Truth, Kane, The Undertaker, John Cena, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, The Miz, Evan Bourne, Santino Marella, Batista, Chris Jericho, CM Punk, Christian, Edge, Montel Vontavious Porter, Drew McIntyre, Jack Swagger, Kofi Kingston, Bret Hart, Sheamus, Rey Mysterio, and The Big Show.

Mattel has announced that their upcoming Royal Rumble 2010 PPV set will include: Beth Phoenix, Edge, Chris Jericho, CM Punk, Cody Rhodes and Triple H. The lineup was determined via voting on Mattel's Facebook and is due in stores in May. Also announced was Drew McIntyre first ever figure which will be released in their Elimination Chamber PPV set in June.

Interesting enough the Ultimate Warrior was added to the opening WWE video that is played at the start of each WWE television show, replacing Ric Flair. The change happened this week and was visible before Monday's RAW kicked off. The history between Warrior and the WWE has been quite rocky with several lawsuits between the two and a DVD release from WWE which, well, served more to make fun of the Warrior rather than showcase his WWE career. Recently WWE informed the Warrior that they want to induct him in the Hall of Fame in his home town of Phoenix. He initially accepted but then changed his mind completely. His addition to the opening video will surely spark some more theories of Warrior's and WWE's relationship being in recovery mode again.

Dennis Condrey (of Midnight Express fame) told Georgia Wrestling History Wednesday night that he signed a contract earlier in the day with World Wrestling Entertainment. He starts Monday, and will be located in Tampa working with the NXT crew.

Sgt. Slaughter has come to terms on a WWE contract that will make him the company's "Ambassador." He is now scheduled for WWE's Fan AXXESS.

The artwork for WWE's upcoming three disc DVD "Hart and Soul: The Hart Family Anthology" has been released. The artwork has a pink background with images of Owen Hart, Bret Hart, Stu Hart, Helen Hart, Jim Neidhart, and Davey Boy Smith around a maple leaf which sits in the middle with the title of the DVD inside it. You can see the artwork by clicking here.

Ata Maivia, mother of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, was in attendance at the Florida Championship Wrestling television tapings last Thursday. Sarona Snuka, daughter of Jimmy Snuka, made her debut in a new faction with G-Rilla, Donny Marlow (son of Haku), and Jimmy & Jules Uso (sons of Rikishi).

Tickets for the Mick Foley/Colt Cabana Total Extreme Comedy show on March 27th in Phoenix were delayed due to a programming issue. The reason for the delay had to do with a 15% discount code assigned to ROH which was not plugged into the system.

Believe it or not, TNA wanted Mick Foley to die his hair blonde, but Hulk Hogan nixed the idea.

Mick Foley appeared on last night 's The Daily Show" on Comedy Central. You can see the part with Foley at TheDailyShow.com/watch/mon-march-15-2010/crumbums---fatcats.

The original plan was for Hulk Hogan to turn heel on the March 8th edition of "TNA iMPACT!", but was changed to Sting's heel turn. Because of Hogan not turning heel, the proposed match between Hogan & Abyss vs. Ric Flair & A. J. Styles went on as planned. Flair was not happy about having to go through with the match.

Ric Flair got a tongue lashing for his Impact promo in which he threw blood at the crowd. The segment was edited for television. Apparently, had it been anybody but Flair, they would have been in serious trouble.

The latest "Last Call with Scott Hall" is up at YouTube.com/watch?v=d-8mpsQeKno, which includes him watching last Monday's "TNA iMPACT!" with Larry Zbyszko while Larry buries guys left and right, including A. J. Styles and Ric Flair.

"TNA Epics", which was to air on Monday at 8 pm before "TNA iMPACT!", has been moved to Tuesday night at 11pm. No reason was given for the late change. The show will feature the A. J. Styles vs. Samoa Joe vs. Daniels match which is considered by many as the single greatest match in the history of the promotion, plus a 2008 Steel Asylum cage match with Kazarian, Jimmy Rave, Johnny Devine, Shark Boy, Curry Man, Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt, Chris Sabin, Alex Shelley, and Consequences Creed, as well as the Ultimate X match from last year's Bound for Glory with Amazing Red, Suicide, Daniels, Homicide, Sabin and Shelley.

Jakks Pacific has updated their new TNA lineups:

-Deluxe Impact Wave 1 (June 2010): Samoa Joe, A. J. Styles, Jeff Jarrett, Sting, Kurt Angle, and Suicide
-Deluxe Impact Wave 2 (August 2010): Hulk Hogan, Mick Foley, Abyss, Amazing Red, Hernandez, and Eric Young
-Deluxe Impact Wave 3 (October 2010): Matt Morgan, Shark Boy, Raven, Kevin Nash, Velvet Sky, and Daniels

-Cross the Line 2-packs Wave 2 (September 2010): A. J. Styles & Daniels, The Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley), and Team 3D (Brother Ray & Brother Devon)
-Cross the Line 2-packs Wave 3 (December 2010): Kurt Angle & Desmond Wolfe, Matt Morgan & Hernandez, and Dr. Stevie & Daffney
-Legends of the Ring Wave 1 (August 2010): Sting, Kevin Nash, Kurt Angle, Hulk Hogan, Scott Steiner, and Jeff Jarrett

ProWrestling.net is reporting that Sting recently underwent shoulder surgery and is currently limited in what he can do in the ring until he is fully recovered.

Rob Van Dam made his long awaited debut on "TNA iMPACT!" a week ago getting a massive pop and defeating Sting in a matter of seconds, however celebrations didn't last too long. The returning Sting got his "revenge" immediately afterward beating the hell out of RVD with his baseball bat. After referees managed to get Sting away from the ring, the former TNA champion forced his way back to the ring and continued his attack as fans kept chanting "RVD, RVD" however there was no comeback from the crowd favorite. Current WWE World Heavyweight champion Chris Jericho tweeted about RVD's arrival, confused as to why he was booked to get beat down so bad on his debut. "The beat down of RVD 20 seconds into his debut in TNA was mind boggling," Jericho said. "I don't understand how so many talented people can be so clueless." You can see RVD's TNA debut by clicking here.

Former WWE Hardcore champ and Tough Enough trainer Al Snow has joined TNA Wrestling as an agent. Snow had several runs with WWE, between 1995 and 1997, 1998 and 2001, and 2002 and 2008 however this will be his first full-time employment with TNA. He did, however, appear once for the company in December 2008 at the "Final Resolution" pay-per-view where he took part in an angle with his long-time friend Mick Foley. Snow started his new job last Monday.

TNA officially announced its fanfest on April 17th from 9am until 5 pm with every major name except Sting, Hulk Hogan, and Ric Flair. They are doing "An Evening with Legends" at 6 pm that night at the Ameristar Casino for $299 with Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair and St. Louis legends of the past. Dory Funk Jr. is the only name heard confirmed. They were also wanting Terry Funk, Jack Brisco (who recently passed away), Harley Race, and others from that era. Race would only come if Vince McMahon allowed him to.

Speaking for the first time since news broke of her leaving TNA in January, the Future Legend Melissa Anderson (AKA Alissa Flash) reveals why she parted ways with TNA and discusses some of her highlights. Melissa also gives her thoughts on returning to SHIMMER in April, her opinion of Wrestlicious and discusses the gimmick with Alissa's zipper going up and down. Fans can listen to the interview by clicking here.

Jim Cornette has announced the NWA Future Legends Cup which will be a four month tournament on the NWA New Beginnings promotion, with the winner facing new NWA World Champion Adam Pearce for the title. It started on Sunday at the Hilton University Place in Charlotte.

Bill Simmons on ESPN's web site had a Q&A were someone asked how Canada could justify not having Bret Hart in the opening ceremonies at the Olympics. It was a funny question joking that it was as bad as if the Olympics were held in Uganda and the opening ceremony excluded Kamala.

There?s a Jesse Ventura interview at ProWrestlingAbout.com/od/interviews/a/JesseVentura201interview.htm. This turned into minor controversy as Ventura said that he has depositions showing that Hulk Hogan got more money at WrestleMania III than everyone else combined, and Jim Ross, who has WWF payoff records, since he was in charge of that department, says that isn't the case. Hogan and Andre the Giant both got $750,000 (Hogan now gives the number at $1,750,000) so, Hogan did not make more than the rest of the show combined. Hogan and Andre together probably did.
