NEWS
Jeff Starchild competed with a broken foot this past Friday in the Steel Cage Match in which he won the MWA Heavyweight Title from Michael Barry in Spavinaw. Starchild suffered the injury he suffered while performing in ?Evil Dead: The Musical? in Kansas City, MO. Oklafan wishes him a speedy recovery.

Gerald Brisco will be doing some scouting for WWE at the upcoming NCAA tournaments in March.

On the heels of recent WWE releases (Paul Burchill, Gregory Helms, Charlie Haas, Maria, and referee Scott Armstrong), more cuts are expected, reports the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. More announcements could be announced as early as this week. Apparently the powers that be within the company are pulling strings to save certain talent. A similar attempt was unsuccessful in the case of Helms.

Chavo Guerrero, Jr. needed stitches after his match with Kofi Kingston in Oklahoma City last week.

Despite what Mr. McMahon has said on television, wrestling legend Stu Hart is indeed scheduled to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on 3/27 in Phoenix. The current plan has Bret Hart, Natalya and D. H. Smith being apart of Stu's Hall of Fame ceremony, with Natalya and Smith doing the introduction of their grandfather and "The Hitman" giving the acceptance speech, reports the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. As things stand, the headliners for this year's ceremony will be Stu Hart and Ted DiBiase, and will be featured on the USA broadcast.

WWE's "Hart & Soul" DVD about the Hart Family will be released sometime this year. Among the matches included in the DVD are:

-Keith Hart, Bruce Hart, & Bret Hart vs. Dynamite Kid & The Kiwis (Butch Miller & Luke Williams) (Stampede; May 1979)
-Hart Foundation (Bret Hart & Jim Neidhart) vs. British Bulldogs (Dynamite Kid & Davey Boy Smith) (WWF; November 1, 1986)
-Bret Hart & Owen Hart vs. The Steiner Brothers (Rick Steiner & Scott Steiner) (WWF; January 11, 1994)
-Bret Hart & Davey Boy Smith vs. Owen Hart & Jim Neidhart ("WWF Monday Night RAW"; November 7, 1994)
-Hart Foundation (Bret Hart, Owen Hart, Davey Boy Smith, Jim Neidhart, & Brian Pillman) vs. Steve Austin, Ken Shamrock, Goldust, & The Legion of Doom (Hawk & Animal) ("In Your House: Canadian Stampede"; July 6, 1997)
-Bret Hart, Owen Hart, & Davey Boy Smith vs. Steve Austin, The Undertaker, & Dude Love (Flag Match; "WWF Monday Night RAW"; July 21, 1997)

TNA contacted Harley Race to appear at its Fan Fest before "Bound for Glory" in St. Charles, MO on April 17th. Race told them he would only do it if Vince McMahon gives him permission because he won't do anything to hurt his relationship with McMahon.

ShopTNA.com has added new merchandise including an A. J. Styles t-shirt, an umbrella, ladies apparel, and more.

TNA President Dixie Carter wrote the following on her Twitter page: "Spoke w/Sting last nite. We've renewed his contract & he said he wouldn't miss Mondays live show for anything. Can't wait to work w/Hulk"

Al Snow worked backstage at the live telecast of "TNA iMPACT!" on March 8th in Orlando, FL. Snow is getting a tryout for a job as an agent.

According to the website TotalExtremeComedy.com, Mick Foley will be performing stad-up comedy at the Gammage Auditorium on the campus of Arizona State University in Tempe, AZ on March 27th. That is interesting because TNA didn't want any of their wrestlers in the Phoenix, AZ area during WrestleMania weekend. Tempe is roughly 13 miles from Phoenix.

"Right After Wrestling" hosted by Arda Ocal with Corey Erdman interviewed Hardcore Legend Mick Foley. Highlights include:

- The mood in the TNA Locker room, talking with Ken Anderson before the show
- "The WWE is the jello of gelatin products"
- How both companies can be successful and why Monday nights are important
- Ribbing Eric Bischoff about spoiling on Nitro Foley's first WWF title win
- Whether or not both companies can be successful moving forward

Hulk Hogan appeared on WFAN. He claimed his match on Monday's "TNA iMPACT!" would be his first television match in ten years. On every radio show Hogan does, he brings up how Ric Flair's wife beat him up so he knows he can.

TMZ has the audio of the Ric Flair 911 call on their website at TMZ.com/2010/03/02/ric-flair-wrester-911-call-arrest-assault . Flair's new wife's daughter was the one who made the call, and she said she thought they were both drunk and she thought her mother was punching her stepfather who was bleeding from the forehead, but it wasn't serious and she just wanted an officer there to quell the situation.

The Sporting News web site had a note about Lamar Odom of the Lakers comparing Matt Barnes of the Orlando Magic to Ric Flair. Odom noted how Barnes got the crowd into the game just like Ric Flair would do in a match.

Jim Duggan was in Iowa this weekend to be part of the Variety Club telethon.

The episode of "Cold Case" with Roddy Piper was moved from this past Sunday to March 14th because CBS figured that this Sunday probably wouldn't draw that big of an audience due to the Oscars.

A trial date has been set for Gail Gagne, 27, the granddaughter of WWE Hall of Famer Verne Gagne and daughter to former AWA star Greg Gagne. Ms. Gagne's trial begins July 12th, and she faces two counts of third-degree criminal-sexual conduct. She is accused of having sex with a male student who worked under her supervision when she was 25 and he was 16.

Oklafan sends its condolences to the friends and family of Angelo Poffo who passed away last week at the age of 84. Angelo was the father of Lanny Poffo and Randy Savage and was a successful professional wrestler and promoter is his own right. On July 4, 1945, while serving in the United States Navy, Angelo set a world record of 6,033 sit-ups in four hours, 10 minutes. Lanny Poffo expressed his gratitude for the support everyone gave the family and for the people that were going to fly in for the funeral. Angelo Poffo's funeral was Monday, March 8th.
