NEWS
Kenny Campbell returned to pro wrestling this past Saturday when he was introduced as the new commissioner of Mid-States Wrestling at their show in Harrison, AR. He replaces Danny Hodge, who stepped down as MSW commissioner late last year.

Damien Morte announced in a My Space bulletin last week that the February 28th SWCW would be his last with the company.

At the SWCW show last Sunday, Outlaw announced he was making a comeback to the ring and was targeting all rookies who he called "pathetic".

Charlie Haas was among those that were released by WWE last week. This was Haas' second stint in WWE following his first run between 2002 and 2005. Haas returned to the company in April 2006 and last year he was drafted to the SmackDown brand but was rarely featured on television. His last match was on the New Year's Eve edition of "WWE Superstars", losing to Mike Knox. Others that were released include were Hurricane Helms, Paul Burchill, Maria, and referee Scott Armstrong.

Jim Ross was at WWE headquarters in Stamford, CT last Thursday negotiating a new contract. He wrote on his blog that the meeting went well, but he has not signed a new deal. He did talk about hopefully being part of WrestleMania XXVI.

Jim Ross appeared during a commercial break at the "WWE Monday Night RAW" live telecast in Oklahoma City and stated he hoped to be at ringside for WrestleMania XXVI.

Batista?s security guards on "WWE Monday Night RAW" in Oklahoma City were Mike Two, Brandon Walker, Cody Jones, Brian Breaker, Chad Thomas, and former ComPro camera man Casey.

Gail Kim had to be helped from the ring following the Pillow Fight match on Monday?s edition of RAW from Oklahoma City.

Ted DiBiase, Sr. and Jr. are headed to the United Kingdom this week to help promote WrestleMania XXVI and the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony. They will appear on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. on Sky Sports news.

WWE announced Maurice "Mad Dog" Vachon as the latest inductee to the Hall of Fame Class of 2010 and will be inducted by Pat Patterson.

The Ultimate Warrior was asked and has apparently turned down a WWE Hall of Fame invitation this year at WrestleMania XXVI in Phoenix, AZ where he resides, according to those who would know. It could still happen but there is an issue over money. The standard rate is $5,000 although certain people have been paid more in the past. A week or so earlier, The Honky Tonk Man rejected an offer to be inducted into the 2010 class of inductees.

PWInsider.com is reporting that the Ultimate Warrior originally accepted WWE's invitation to be inducted into this year's Hall of Fame however changed his mind and last week he let the company know that he won't be involved with the ceremony at all. Warrior, who lives in Phoenix, was going to be the headliner at the ceremony but unless there is some divine intervention and he changes his mind again, the late Stu Hart will be taking his spot. Warrior's relationship with WWE came out with a Warrior DVD which purpose was more to mock him rather than to showcase his WWE career. The two parties were involved in different lawsuits in 1996, 1998 and 2006 because of Warrior's failure to show at events, the Warrior trademark name, and the DVD. In September of last year, Warrior lost his latest lawsuit against the company over "The Self-Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior" DVD. The most famous bust-up between Warrior and WWE came at SummerSlam 91 when Warrior blackmailed WWE asking for a sum of money or else he would not show up at the pay-per-view where he was teamed up with Hulk Hogan to take on Sgt. Slaughter, Col. Mustafa, and General Adnan. Vince McMahon eventually gave in to the demand and as soon as Warrior reached backstage he was fired on the spot.

Former five time WWF Women's Champion Wendi Richter was announced as one of the latest inductees to the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2010. Best known for defeating The Fabulous Moolah in Madison Square Garden at MTV's "The Brawl to End it All" and for teaming up with Cyndi Lauper, Richter left the WWF on bad terms after she got screwed by Vince McMahon and Moolah. In 1985, Richter was supposed to wrestle The Spider Lady, a masked female, and after the match started, Spider Lady pinned Richter thanks to the help of the referee who was in on the plan. Richter actually kicked out of the pin however the referee continued his count regardless. After the match was declared over, a very angry Richter attacked Spider Lady, unmasking her to reveal her as Moolah. The whole screw job came after there were reports that Richter did not sign her new WWF deal even though she said she still was under contract. Last year WWE contacted Richter again to be a part of the "Miss WrestleMania" battle royal at WrestleMania XXV but declined the appearance and has not appeared on WWE television since 1985. She will be inducted by Hall of Famer Rowdy Roddy Piper. You can see the whole, original screw job match between Spider Lady and Richter by clicking here.

THQ recorded voice overs for the new WWE video game; including that of the former Paul Bearer, Percy Pringle.

Hulk Hogan on ESPN Radio in St. Louis last Thursday said that he wouldn't be wrestling again after March 8th, including at "Lockdown". He also plugged the match saying that if Ric Flair's wife could beat Ric up, he knew he could. You can listen to the interview at 101ESPN.com/section/wxos.

In an interview with the Riverfront Times, Hulk Hogan said he's wrestling on March 8th because the fans chanted his name and he had no choice but to do it, and then said he thinks Ric Flair is the greatest wrestler of all-time.

Next week, "TNA iMPACT!" moves to Monday nights and will be headlined by Ric Flair & TNA World Champion A. J. Styles vs. Hulk Hogan & Abyss. However, a source indicates that Flair is apprehensive of coming out of retirement in the United States (he wrestled Hogan in Australia last fall) to wrestle on a free television show. Present plans are for everything to go down to the wire and even go as far as the introductions but when push comes to shove the match won't take place.

As things stand, Sting is not on the March 8th "TNA iMPACT!" show, and in fact, his name isn't mentioned in creative meetings. He may be done with the company after missing last month's PPV and the following"iMPACT!" TV tapings.

TNA's "The Best of 2009" DVD will contain the following matches among others:

-Jeff Jarrett vs. Kurt Angle ("Genesis"; January 11th)
-A. J. Styles vs. Kurt Angle (Tables Match; "TNA iMPACT!"; January 22nd)
-Sting vs. Kurt Angle (Empty Arena Match; "TNA iMPACT!"; February 19th)
-Alissa Flash vs. Sarita ("TNA iMPACT!"; July 16th)
-Sting vs. A. J. Styles ("Bound for Glory"; October 18th)
-A. J. Styles vs. Samoa Joe vs. Daniels ("Turning Point"; November 15th)

Mick Foley has just completed his fourth memoir, Countdown to Lockdown, which will be published later this year. Foley will be donating half the proceeds from his book to RAINN, the Rape Abuse and Incest National Network.

Mick Foley was on the Opie & Anthony radio show last week and he noted he watched the WWE Elimination Chamber PPV on February 21st because his kids begged him to order it.

Roddy Piper has bleached his hair totally blond for a role on the CBS TV show "Cold Case" which will air on March 14th. Piper's web site has photos from the show at RowdyRoddyPiper.com/home/index.php?option=com_content&view=frontpage.

Actor Liev Schreiber has signed on to portray Chuck Wepner, the boxer who fought Muhammad Ali and did pro wrestling matches with Antonio Inoki and Andre the Giant, in a movie by Paramount Pictures.

The George Tragos/Lou Thesz Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame announced their 2010 inductees this week on their official website, WrestlingMuseum.org. Their official release reads:

Matt Borne is returning to the ring on March 27th in Freehold, NJ for ISPW debuting his new "Reborne Again" character. If you remember, Borne worked as "Borne Again" back in the old ECW. Borne, who was the original Doink The Clown in WWF, has promised a sick and twisted new approach to the old character at ISPWMANIA. Borne will be wrestling in a Legends Match against "Dirty" Dutch Mantell, who will be making a super rare wrestling appearance in New Jersey. For further information on this event, visit ISPWlive.com. You can also watch Matt Borne talk about the new character at YouTube.com/ISPWRingside.

The Honky Tonk Man was a guest on "The Fight Show" on February 24th. Among the highlights was HTM announcing that he plans to file a lawsuit against Bubba The Love Sponge and TNA after disparaging and slanderous remarks made by Bubba resulting in HTM not receiving as many bookings in the indy wrestling circuit as he could have, talking smack about Bubba, including having "his feet sticking out of Hogan's ass". HTM also said "If Elizabeth had come with me instead of Luger, she might still be alive today". You can hear the interview in a podcast by clicking here.

Even though the Ohio State Fair website is listing a World Pro Wrestling event for August 1st featuring the return of The Steiner Brothers, at this point that is premature. Scott Steiner as of Sunday had not been contacted nor knew anything about the booking. Rick Steiner was called Monday for the first time but as of that morning had not taken the booking

W4CW has opened a training facility in the Dallas area. Anyone interested should contact them at (210) 382-2415.
