Loading up the Wolfemobile and making another weekend of fun and frolic in the wonderful world of rasslin later this afternoon. My youngest, Ethan asked why are the trips so far these days. There was a year or so Ethan went everywhere with me. And as much as I complain about the fruit of my loins, Ethan travels fairly well for someone that has no reason to be on the road. Anyway, I told him there just isn?t much work in South Texas for a man that expects to get paid a few dollars. A number of promoters this way won?t use me simply because we don?t get along. Fair enough. Even a loveable, harmless, furball like me has made enemies over time. There are a few that will book me when they have something. And the rest, they seem to bump their gums with all kinds of talk about respect. While wanting to hand a man a $10 or $20 bill for a nights work. Guys, take me out of the equation. How much respect are you showing anyone with a $10 bill, after they took chances with their body? Of course, how do I blame a promoter for doing just that, when a guy is happy with that $10 or $20 bill? A man has to respect himself before another man will. ANYWAY, I tried explaining some of that to Ethan. Two sad parts to that conversation. One ? I?m not sure if he understood the most important part of respecting himself. Two- whatever did get through to Ethan, he will be doing better than about 98% of those that talk the game.
Which made me think of something I came up with while drinking a few years back. I know, the idea of me having a few drinks is shocking?.I wrote all this down. I had a couple of older guys with me who shall remain nameless. I have no idea what they told their luvs back then. If they were protecting themselves by not admitting to being with me, I can?t blame them.
For the kids that talk the talk, here are a few tips on walking the walk, if you truly respect the guys that came before you????
1.Never ask an oldtimer what broadway means. Call your trainer, call your mother, I don?t care how, but find out some other way.
2. Never tell an oldtimer you?ll use/take a back elbow. WTF is a back elbow? You have two elbows. They have an inside and an outside. I dare you to find me a front one and a back one.
3. Never, when the oldtimer calls a tackle, do you ask..?who?s giving the tackle?? If you?re not smart enough to know where you are in the ring, go back to that phone call to your trainer or your mother.
4. NEVER, EVER say the words ?BABY FACE HEAT?
5. Never mention ?workrate? to an oldtimer. If he is in a cantankerous mood that evening, there is a good chance he will SLOWLY stretch your ass up around your eyeballs. The entire time, smiling at the ringside smarks chanting boring.
6. Never discuss ?plot lines?. If you haven?t got enough sense to know rasslin runs angles?go back to that phone call.
7. WTF is a rest hold. This is rasslin. Rasslers use holds. Tell an oldtimer about a resthold?refer to work rate.
8. Never tell an oldtimer you?ll call the match. If he tells you to call it, great, that?s a sign of respect.
9. Never tell an oldtimer, ??and then I?ll grab a chair.?
10. Never try and convince an oldtimer you really were THAT guy under a mask. Or you really are related to THAT guy. If we weren?t there, we have phones too. And we REALLY DO know who we claim to know.
11. Never expect an oldtimer to know who you?re talking about, or be impressed, when you use all the initials. Even in the WWE, someone authorizes your payday. You work for the promoter???
12. Never say??back bump.? That should explain itself.

And my personal favorite
I WATCHED YOU WHEN I WAS A KID. Yeah, well?.I may be your father. So there!!!!!!
Class is dismissed.
