NEWS
Victory Crown Championship Wrestling has posted a brief video featuring Kody Kox interviewing Al Farat and Spoiler 2000 after S2K's victory over James Johnson on January 15th. You can view the video by clicking here.

The lawsuit Jody Hamilton brought against WWE was settled out of court for an undisclosed fee, according to Hamilton's attorney out of Atlanta. Hamilton, 72, who was a wrestler in the 60's, 70's, and 80's as The Assassin, reopened his Deep South Wrestling promotion in 2005 as an affiliate of WWE, to train talents signed to developmental contracts. In 2007, WWE abruptly ended their contract with Hamilton and DSW with no notice. In April 2009, Hamilton sued for breach of contract and intentional interference with contractual and business relations. His attorney claimed that, WWE "fraudulently contrived a reason to end the agreement" without giving 90-days notice as laid out in the contract between Hamilton, DSW, and WWE. A key-paragraph in the suit read: "WWE unlawfully entered the premises occupied by Hamilton and DSW and removed property that belonged to DSW and Hamilton. Contemporaneously with its clandestine operation to dismantle DSW's operation and cripple its ability to operate at all, John Laurentis [sic], WWE's VP of Promotions and a member of the Board of Directors [Laurinaitis is actually WWE EVP of Talent Relations], assembled all the independent contractor wrestlers who were committed to DSW's upcoming events and issued an ominous warning. He cautioned them that, 'if they ever set foot in this building again or had anything to do with Hamilton or DSW their relationship with WWE would end and they would never work again in the wrestling industry.'" Apparently there were two former WWE talents willing to come forward and testify that Laurinaitis gave that speech. WWE were unsuccessful in a motion to dismiss so settled with Hamilton before the case went to trial.

In a list published on Gerweck.net this past week, Charlie Haas was listed as the 15th oldest member of the active WWE Roster, at 37 years old. The oldest roster member was Finlay (51) and the youngest was Trent Baretta (22).

Jerry Lawler had a rare Freudian slip last Monday during "RAW" on commentary when he referred to Randy Orton as "Randy Savage" during a video package. He laughed it off telling people after the show that a fan had sent him a DVD of Savage in a cage match from the 80's, watched it over the weekend, and that's what mistakenly came out last night.

Comedy duo Cheech and Chong have been announced as the guest hosts of "Monday Night RAW" for the March 1st edition in Oklahoma City. It's funny that they will have two guys who constantly showed their love for marijuana during their stand up comedies working with WWE considering their tough stand on illegal and recreational drugs. Dr. Black who oversees the Wellness Program will most likely not be in attendance that day.

The latest Sky Sports magazine in the United Kingdom has a feature on the Top 10 Divas to ever hold the Women's title. The mag only lists women currently under WWE contract, so no Trish Stratus, Lita, etc., excludes Gail Kim, and includes Kelly Kelly, Tiffany, Natalya, Maria, and Eve Torres, who have never even held the title. The other Divas listed are Michelle McCool, Beth Phoenix, Mickie James, Maryse, and Melina.

The new WWE DVD entitled "Shawn Michaels - My Journey" is due to be released soon. Here are some of the matches in the set:

-Michaels vs. One Man Gang (WCCW; January 11, 1985)
-The Midnight Rockers (Michaels & Marty Jannetty) vs. Buddy Rose & Doug Somers (AWA "WrestleRock"; April 20, 1986)
-The Rockers (Michaels & Jannetty) vs. The Hart Foundation (Bret Hart & Jim Neidhart) (WWF; November 25, 1989)
-Michaels vs. Mankind (WWF "Monday Night RAW"; August 11, 1997)
-Michaels vs. Ric Flair (WWE "Bad Blood"; June 15, 2003)

Linda McMahon was on "The View" last week. It was pretty much what you would expect. They showed clips of Linda kicking Jim Ross low, Stephanie slapping Linda and Kane tombstoning Linda. Linda said from the clips you can see bad acting (from herself) and evidence she belongs in the board room, but that it was fun. She was asked about her view that the government is spending too much when she's earmarked $50 million to fund her race and if she's trying to buy the election. She said you can't buy an election, only earn votes from people. She said she hopes she doesn't have to spend $50 million on the campaign and noted she was refusing donations from special interest groups.

TNA World Champion A. J. Styles recently toured the offices of Marvel. While there, A. J. was interviewed by Marvel.com editor Ben Morse about his ideas of the House of Ideas, his affection for The Punisher, what super powers he would like to have, and more. Click here to watch the video.

There is talk of AJ Styles bleaching his hair as part of the new storyline with Ric Flair.

Several TNA talents are said to be on the bubble now that Hogan and Bischoff are in charge. Bischoff has been vocal backstage regarding who he likes and dislikes from a talent stand point. The British Invasion, Eric Young, Homicide, and Daniels are just a few of the guys that Bischoff is not a fan of. Hogan is also said to be 100% firmly against the Suicide character so we may see the end of it soon. Regarding those who they see a lot in, Desmond Wolfe, Matt Morgan, Hernandez, and obviously A. J. Styles.

The first set of TNA action figures by Jakks Pacific will be as follows. The "Deluxe Impact" series 1 will include Sting, Jeff Jarrett, A. J. Styles, Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe, and Suicide. The "Cross the Line" 2-packs will include Scott Steiner & Kevin Nash, James Storm & Robert Roode, Mick Foley & Samoa Joe, and Brother Ray & Brother Devon. They will also release a "Legends of the Ring" series similar to the "Classic Superstars" series they did for WWE. The set will include Kurt Angle, Kevin Nash, Hulk Hogan, Scott Steiner, Jeff Jarrett, and Sting.

Alissa Flash (Melissa Anderson) has parted ways with TNA. She has not been used on television November.

Mick Foley will be performing his comedy routine in Las Vegas, NV at the Las Vegas Hilton and Casino on February 6th, the night before the Super Bowl. The Total Extreme Comedy show - which features fellow wrestler Colt Cabana as well - will also be making stops in Baltimore, MD on February 3rd at the Baltimore Comedy Factory and in Manchester, NH at the Palace Theater on March 5th. Foley discusses "inside" jokes and stories about his experience in the wrestling industry, his personal experience with Vince McMahon, and all wrestlers involved in the business as part of his funny routine.

Jim Cornette was a guest with Bruce Snyder on Fox Charlotte's Sports "Got Game" . The clip has been uploaded to their website and can be viewed by clicking here. The clip begins with Magnum T. A. saying when he is in Charlotte, "Got Game" is the sports cast he watches.

Heritage Wrestling Collectibles has just worked out an affiliate relationship with Universal Wrestling Archives to advertise their vast wrestling footage library on their website. See the likes of Cowboy Bill Watts, Steve "Dr. Death" Williams, Ted DiBiase, the Junkyard Dog, Kamala, the Rock-N-Roll Express, and more Mid South stars from the 1980's. Add to your wrestling DVD collection by purchasing Mid South Wrestling, Power Pro Wresting, & UWF television shows & house shows straight from the source.

Jake Roberts recently announced his retirement from active wrestling at the age of 54. He says that 2010 will be his last year in the ring: "Bottom line, it's time. There comes a moment and I regret that it has happened, but I simply am unable physically to perform at the level that I find acceptable. I cannot do what I did 30 years ago, and my God, am I glad that I can't. But my love for what I've done in the last 35 years deserves more than I am capable of doing. I cherish every moment that I've had, good or bad, bottom line is I never had a bad moment in the ring. Any moment was something to treasure, and I can only do so by stepping away. Although the cheers and support are still there from you, the fans, I would be a liar to say that it is not only painful physically, mentally, but worst of all, deep in my heart. It would be unfair to me not to have one more go around the horn. I will do a retirement tour that will last no more than to the end of the year. I honestly feel that it won't last that long, and I hope I am wrong. Regardless of the offers to continue I respect that lady in the ring enough to say "goodbye". I would really love to continue to contribute as a adviser, booker, teacher, etc., and perhaps that opportunity may present itself to me somewhere in the future. For those of you in our business, feel free to contact me for appearances for 2010. The open dates are limited. Thanks to all, here's to a safe and happy 2010. Jake."

There is a 22 minute interview of Jake Roberts available at 2CW.com.

If anyone has results from the Extreme Midget Wrestling Federation events in Enid or Oklahoma City this past week, please send them to us so we can post them.

Oklafan would like to congratulate Michael Barry who surpassed 6 months as MWA Heavyweight Champion on January 10th.

Oklafan would like to send its condolences to Brent Albright and Blake Albright, who's grandmother passed away last week.

Oklafan would also like to send its condolences to the family and friends of Georgiann Makopoulos who passed away on Sunday evening.
Makropoulos was well known and sincerely admired within the pro wrestling industry. For the past 22 years, she wrote her own wrestling newsletter called Wrestling Chatterbox, a postal publication with news and photos. Wrestling Chatterbox was the first online resource to print any show write-ups done by Oklafan senior editor C. M. Burnham in 1999. Although they never met, Burnham credits Makropolous as one of the two people responsible for beginning his career in wrestling journalism. She also spent much of her time working on the WrestlingFigs.com website posting fan reports and pictures from wrestling autograph signings and personal appearances.
