NEWS
Bill Apter of 1Wrestling.com recently interviewed Gerald Brisco and they talked about his health and a possible WWE return. You can see the interview by clicking here.

Some notes from WWE Classics on Demand. During the Legends Roundtable that talked about managers, the forbidden "WWF" term was mentioned twice without being edited, once by Michael Hayes and another by Joey Styles. They also had a funny "Prime Time Wrestling" gaffe. It was a Madison Square Garden match where Tito Santana & Rick Martel beat The Islanders (Haku & Tama), and then they came back to studio with Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan. Monsoon brought up Heenan throwing a tantrum at ringside after his team lost. The problem? Heenan wasn't at the match and in the commentary, Monsoon, doing the play-by-play, early in the match noted Heenan not being there.

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has agreed to a WWE contract extension. There are rumors circulating that TNA contacted him and wanted him to appear on the January 4th "TNA iMPACT!" show.

The December 19th, 2009 edition of "WWE Vintage Collection" on The Score showed Jeff Jarrett performing "With My Baby Tonight" and the revelation that The Roadie actually sang the song, not Jarrett.

Santa Claus was portrayed by different people on the December 21st edition of "WWE Monday Night RAW". They were Sgt. Slaughter, Dusty Rhodes, Irwin R. Shyster, Santino Marella, and Chris Jericho.

A story on the author of WWE Battlemania, the new company comic book, Keith Champagne, has been posted at NewsARama.com/comics/091216-WWE-Heroes-Interivew.html He talked about growing up watching Adrian Adonis, Jesse Ventura and Andre the Giant.

WWE has edited their opening video which airs before each of their television shows and took out Hulk Hogan and Mick Foley and replaced them with the "Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase and Jeff Hardy. A Hulk Hogan sound bite was also removed which said "Hulkamania is running wild" and instead DiBiase's "Everybody has a price" was inserted. The clip where Foley gets thrown off the top of the cage by The Undertaker at King Of The Ring was replaced by Jeff Hardy jumping from a ladder.

Hulk Hogan appeared Thursday night on The Fight Network with a 40 minute interview, discussing his book, the death of WCW, Vince Russo, putting over The Rock and Ultimate Warrior, unionization of pro wrestling, and the Shawn Michaels promo the day after their SummerSlam match.

Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that Ric Flair and TNA appear to be closing in on a deal. It appears the sides are close on money, but that Flair is insisting on a guaranteed contract with TNA's parent company Panda Energy and not TNA, just in case TNA would fold. As of this past weekend, Flair still had not signed.

The New York Times over the weekend had a story on New York Jets linebacker Bart Scott, known as one of football's best talkers. As expected, he got his inspiration from pro wrestlers, noting Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair and Roddy Piper. He constantly says "To be the man, you've got to beat the man, Whoo!" He called that the most realistic line in the history of life.

During the Houston Texans vs. St. Louis Rams NFL football game last Sunday, four pro wrestlers were mentioned. They talked about the great rookie season James Laurinaitis is having with the Rams, and mentioned his father Road Warrior Animal, which happens all the time. They also mentioned that Craig Null, the Rams quarterback played college ball at West Texas A&M and mentioned that Terry Funk, Dusty Rhodes and Ted DiBiase all played there (along with Stan Hansen, Bobby Duncum Sr., Bruiser Brody, Dory Funk, Jr., Tully Blanchard, Tito Santana, Kelly Kiniski and others).

During his monologue on his show last Wednesday, Jay Leno poked fun at the newest member of ABC's "Good Morning America" George Stephanopolos and used some midget wrestling footage from the Mid-South Wrestling video library. You can view the clip by clicking here.

"Ultimate Death Match 3", which will feature the likes of Kevin Nash, Shane Douglas, Stevie Richards, Dawn Marie, Tammy Stych, Melissa Coates, etc., is slated to be filming in late January 2010.

Jimmy Valiant was a recent guest on "On The Mat". You can view the interview in two parts by clicking here.

The entire staff of Oklafan would like to wish all of you and your family a very happy holiday season!
