Top 10 Pro-Wrestling Baby-Faces of All-Time

Posted: Nov 14th 2009 By: mikeiles

The following is a list of the top 10 baby-faces in the history of Pro-Wrestling. For those that don't know baby-face is a wrestling term that means "good guy".

Check out the list and leave some comments on who you think should have been the top 10.

10) Tito Santana
?Tito Santana was a hero to the Hispanic wrestling fans all over the world. He was an accomplished tag-team and single?s wrestler. Always facing bad guys, Tito never backed down. His flying forearm became a crowd favorite and led him to many victories. ?Arrrrribbbba?

9) Junkyard Dog
?Grab them cakes? is not all that J.Y.D did. He would ?thump? the heels all over the ring with powerful bodyslams and massive headbutts. His signature dog chain around his neck, growling, and crawling on all fours made him a hit amongst fans of all ages.

8) Magnum T. A.
Magnum T.A. could have been the biggest baby face ever if his career wasn?t cut short by a car accident. Magnum had the looks, the charisma, the in-ring ability, and a huge push from the NWA. His feuds against the 4 Horsemen were epic. The ladies loved his looks and the guys loved his toughness.

7) Sting
This bleached blonde muscle man burst onto the NWA scene and was an instant fan favorite with his face paint and crowd pleasing antics. He became a star after his feud with Ric Flair. Even when he adopted a darker ?Crow? look, Sting still was a fan favorite. The Scorpion Deathlock and Stinger Splash were symbolic of his hold over the wrestling fans.

6) Verne Gagne
Verne built the AWA on his back and was a multi-time champion. Generations of fans rooted for Verne as he wrestled well into his 50?s and 60?s. He fought off all challengers, raised a son on camera, and helped train dozens of pro-wrestling?s top superstars.

5) Kerry Von Erich
A member of one of the greatest families in pro-wrestling, Kerry was as popular as most rock stars. He had a ripped body and movie star good looks. He was a huge star for both men and women. At one point Kerry and his brothers were the kings of Texas and the faces of the wrestling world.

4) Ricky Steamboat
Steamboat was probably the best technical wrestler on this list. His matches with Ric Flair have become wrestling clinics. Always in great shape, Ricky could make anyone look good in the ring. His athleticism set him apart from all the wrestlers of his era.

3) Dusty Rhodes
?The son of a plumber? became the working man?s hero. He was an overweight guy who could move like a cat and fight like a bull. Dusty?s mic work was only surpassed by Ric Flair, whom he had many memorable matches with. Dusty had catchphrases and gyrations that are still mimicked to this day.

2) Bruno Sammartino
Bruno became a saint among the Italian culture. At one point he held the world title for over 7 years and beat everyone that he faced. He had an unmatched work ethic and super-freakish strength. Bruno sold out Madison Square Garden 45 times and was the top name in all of pro-wrestling for decades.

1) Hulk Hogan
Arguments can be made the Hulk Hogan was the greatest pro-wrestler of all time. This ?Real American? shot like a red and yellow rocket to the top of the pro-wrestling world. ?Hulkamania? was the most powerful force in the entire universe. He was worshipped by little kids and adored by adults. His big leg drop, pythons for arms, shirt ripping, and catchphrases made him a cultural icon.
