NEWS
Brad Michaels was spotted at the Texas State Fair in Dallas over this past weekend speaking with talk show host Oprah Winfrey near a Fried Butter concession trailer.

WWE Diva Maria Kanellis and Bill Goldberg were filming in New York City last Friday for the next "Celebrity Apprentice". They are on the show with Poison lead singer Bret Michaels, Sharon Osbourne, former Governor Rod Blagojevich, former baseball player Darryl Strawberry, singer-actress Holly Robinson Peete, 80's pop icon Cyndi Lauper, and stand-up comedian Sinbad.

While in New York, the tabloid show "TMZ" caught up with Goldberg and when the camera guy asked him how much he benches he said that benching is for pretty boys and he trains for functional strength. They then asked if he could bench press the hotel he was currently standing in front of and he said he was going inside to try. The camera man then asked what Goldberg had for breakfast that morning. He responded with 10 egg whites and a pound of turkey bacon. One of the staffers said Goldberg ate turkey bacon because he was Jewish then referred to Goldberg as the largest Jewish person ever to walk the Earth. Their comedy continued claiming before Goldberg, a lot of wrestlers had to hide their identity with a series of funny snapshots featuring Ultimate Warrior as the Ultimate Kvetcher, Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake as The Moyel and The Rock as Rabbi Rocksteinowicz. You can check out the video by clicking here.

The lawsuit Jody Hamilton brought against WWE for breach of contract appears to be moving forward to trial. This dates back to 2007 when Hamilton operated Deep South Wrestling as a WWE developmental group in Georgia. An interesting note in the suit is a claim that when John Laurinaitis and Mike "Nova" Bucci went to Georgia to close the operation down, Laurinaitis threatened to blackball any talent that continued to do business with DSW or Hamilton. This has been confirmed by a few sources but for obvious reasons they are not willing to go on the record. There is one person that did say they would because they are out of the business and don't really care any more.

Jerry Lawler finished in 5th place in the Memphis mayoral elections garnering 4% of the vote out of a field of 24 candidates. Only three runners received more than 4% of the vote. A. C. Wharton, Jr. won the election with 64% in a landslide victory. Lawler was quoted as saying: "I guess we got lulled into that false sense of reality. We thought we were going to do a lot better than this... It is a bitter pill to swallow." He said he is sure Wharton will work hard towards making Memphis a better place. He also said it was unlikely that he would run again for mayor. The Memphis Wrestling TV show last weekend was a Lawler for Mayor Special. They ran videos with WWE talent pushing his bid as well as news clips on him from the local television stations. They even had Pittsburgh Steelers QB, Ben Roethlisberger and Rev. Al Sharpton endorsing him.

Jim Ross did not work the "WWE SmackDown!" television taping on October 13th in Lexington, KY because it was his 16th wedding anniversary and requested to have a week off from his WWE duties to be with his family for this special occasion. WWE granted his wishes and Michael Cole was called in for the duty, putting him ringside at Smackdown for the first time since he moved to RAW during the draft of last year.

ABC cameras showed Jim Ross on the sidelines of the Texas-Oklahoma college football game last Saturday.

Jim Ross confirmed on his website that his WWE contract expires in December. He wrote: "There have been no serious negotiations but WWE seems to want me to stick around and I prefer to do so as well. We'll see how the negotiations proceed. I am fortunate that I have many options that have nothing to do with wrestling. Time will tell but don't believe every thing you read about matters such as this." He also noted watching the TNA show last week which was the Global Impact special taped in January at the Tokyo Dome: "I'm not 100% sure what TNA got out of the Japanese deal but it did not blow me away and simply came off as a TV show from a unique locale."

PS3Obsession.com have added several new high quality screen shots of WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2010 game. Screens also feature Dolph Ziggler, Maria, the animation mode, created story mode, Kelly Kelly, Mickie James, Vince McMahon and more. You can view the screenshots at PS3Obsession.com/ps3images.php?gal=12.

Timing of WWE clips isn't the best as just weeks after WWE did an Undertaker-never-submitted-in-a-match-in-history storyline, WWE Vintage Collection showed him submitting in a match with Mankind.

WWE has started to add the Slim Jim logo to their online WrestleMania XXVI advertising as the meat snacks and dried sausage food company has signed on the be the official sponsor for the event. Slim Jim has a long history with wrestling with Macho Man Randy Savage being their spokesman for a long time. The company also used The Ultimate Warrior, Bam Bam Bigelow, and Kevin Nash in their advertising with Edge being the latest Superstar to participate in their commercials.

Before TNA's "Bound for Glory" came on the air, Comcast OnDemand ran a commercial for "Turning Point" on November 15th which said "A. J. Styles beat Sting at last month's show".

Time Warner onDemand has a 12 minute free preview of the second Dragon Gate pay-per-view and also the 2008 A. J. Styles vs. Sting match from TNA's "Turning Point".

The October 12th edition af "TNA Today" is online with Sting talking Bound for Glory. You can view it by clicking here.

After TNA World Champion A. J. Styles defeated Sting in the main event of TNA's "Bound for Glory" he was still in the ring and called Sting back. Styles said Sting has been wrestling for 23 years and this ring is his spotlight in his home state of California. Sting returns to the ring as Styles yells, "This is your time right now." The fans chant "PLEASE DON'T GO" at Sting. They showed a shot of Styles clapping for Sting on the entrance ramp. Sting gets in the ring and says, "Thank you. Thank you. I really didn't expect to be back here right now because this moment is not about me it is about our new World Champion. But if I'm gonna lose, I'm glad that I could lose to somebody like A. J. Styles. And if I can lose, I'm real glad to lose at home." The fans chant, "YOU'VE STILL GOT IT." Sting continues, "Thank you, thank you. I suppose that since I have this platform right now I should probably cover what people have been asking me the last couple months and at Fanfest yesterday. I've gotta tell ya...(the fans chant "ONE MORE YEAR")...I'm not pulling a Brett Favre on you, but I was not prepared to make some kind of announcement tonight. All I can say is, I'm being real serious, I don't know if I'm going to come back." He closes saying the fans make him want to stay forever and his music hits as the PPV goes off the air. During this promo, the stage manager was going ballistic because Sting wasn't facing the hard camera when he did his promo and they kept motioning for him to turn around.

The planned main event for TNA's next pay-per-view, "Turning Point" on November 15th in Orlando, FL, pits World Champion A. J. Styles defending the title against Kurt Angle.

Mick Foley stopped by "The All Out Show" with Rude Jude and Lord Sear on Wednesday. In the interview he discussed TNA's upcoming Pay Per View : Bound For Glory, Getting yelled at by Vince McMahon when he was a commentator for the WWE, His appeal to the "Urban/Black" audience, His favorite opponent, Coming up with the character "Mankind", Veterans staying in the spotlight in TNA, and not letting the younger wrestlers shine, Hell In A Cell, His injuries in wrestling. Mick Foley did an interview Monday morning on the "Opie and Anthony". He was on promoting a stand up gig on Long Island. He shared a couple pretty good stories, including himself and Kurt Angle running into Mark Coleman at an airport in Ireland and Kurt getting pissed about Coleman forgetting the date of their amateur match, Foley blowing Brock Lesnar off at a UFC Fight Night, and some details about his new book.

Mick Foley was also a recent guest on "Stratgey Room" on Fox News. The appearance is about 22 minutes and he talks about the TNA pay-per-view from this past Sunday and his various injuries during his career, among other things. You can view it by clicking here.

You can add Mick Foley to the list of wrestlers donating their brain after death to concussion research.

Mick Foley is planning to tour the comedy club circuit with Colt Cabana soon.

During a recent radio interview, Ric Flair said Vince McMahon gave him his blessing to come out of retirement for the Hulkamania tour. Flair said he feels in great shape and is working out in the gym every day in preparation."It gives Hulk and I a chance to see if we've still got it going on," he said.

The sale of Ric Flair's original NWA Heavyweight Title belt by Highspots took a new twist when it was revealed another party also holds a claim to the belt as security for a judgment Flair lost relating to the sale of a Gold's Gym in Charlotte, NC. A company called Conbraco Industries holds several of Flair's possessions, including the NWA belt; his WWE Hall of Fame ring, an expensive Gold Rolex watch engraved "To Be The Man," all of his wrestling robes and boots, and other items of sports memorabilia. These are listed in a UCC filing relating to a lawsuit Conbraco brought against Flair. Highspots say they have the belt in their possession with several buyers lined up, including a current major wrestling personality, and are hoping to complete the sale once Conbraco makes a
decision on how to move forward.

Joe Simpson, the TBS baseball broadcaster, regularly references Ric Flair in regard to the item yesterday. He would say "Wooo" at times and would use the term "a looping flair" for a blooper. He was doing the Colorado Rockies vs. Philadelphia Phillies game on Monday, October 12th and called a hit "a Ric Flair to the left."

There is a Jim Cornette interview posted on the web. Among the topics discussed were his new project, The Midnight Express And Jim Cornette 25th Anniversary Scrapbook, his time in the NWA, WWF, TNA, his new role with Ring Of Honor, the passing of Captain Lou Albano and much, much more! Find out how to listen to or download the interview in two parts by clicking here.

The complete list of talent for the Hulkamania tour in Australia next month was released: Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Brutus Beefcake, The Nasty Boys (Brian Knobbs & Jerry Sags), Rock of Love, Aumaga (Umaga), Mr. Ken Anderson, (Mr. Kennedy), Kishi (Rikishi), Orlando Jordan, Black Pearl, Pimp Fatha (The Godfather), Shannon Moore, Vampire Warrior (Gangrel), Heidenrich, Val Venise (Val Venis), U Gene (Nick Dinsmore), Paul London, Lacey Von Erich, and Stephanie Pietz (a model). Tour organizers are asking fans to vote of what matches they would like to see at Hulkamania.com.au.

Several of the wrestlers on the "Hulkamania" Australia tour will be now wrestling under their real names instead of gimmick names. Not Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair, but the undercard guys.

Paul Heyman's "Heyman Hustle" at HeymanHustle.CraveOnline.com has a photo of Pete Rose and Ric Flair taken on Saturday at the Big Apple Comic Con in New York.

The Iron Sheik, Demolition Smash, and Bushwacker Luke were on ?Opie and Anthony? Friday morning promoting a comic book convention autograph signing that they were participating in. They asked the Sheik to respond to Brian Blair?s accusations that were made in a recent shoot interview in which Blair claimed that Sheik molested a ring boy in a locker room and smoked crack out of a box of popcorn with the Junkyard Dog in an airplane. Sheik responded with his usual rants saying these accusations by Blair weren?t true and that Blair and Hulk Hogan would share the same dressing room and have sex. Sheik later said that he is getting back with his ex-wife after promising to clean up his act and stay off the drugs. He did seem a little more low-key this morning, almost like he?s bored of the gimmick. His attorney/agent did say that he drank ten beers this morning before the interview so I don?t know how clean he is yet. Overall, Sheik did seem a little calmer though. Bushwhacker Luke and Barry Darsow (Smash) were along for the ride but didn?t seem to add much. Luke did bring up some stories about Mr. Fuji being a pretty legendary ribber.

Brian Blair has been getting negative press in Tampa recently. TampaBay.com recently ran a story about Hillsborough County Commissioner Kevin White still able to raise campaign funds despite a losing verdict in a sexual discrimination suit. The story mentions Blair not raising as much campaign funds as his opponent Irene Guy. Blair is running for District 47 State House Seat in Florida. You can read the entire story by clicking here.

Oklafan would like to congratulate Nathan Sensation on the birth of his daughter Kylie Ann who was born this past Monday. She weighed 8 lbs. and was 20 1/2 inches long.

Oklafan send its condolences to the friends and family of Captain Lou Albano. While it does not appear Albano ever competed in the state of Oklahoma, he is legendary in pro wrestling. He earned the nickname "The Guiding Light" because he managed several different tag teams to World Tag Team Titles in both the WWWF and the WWF. Among those tag team are The Wild Samoans (Afa & Sika) and The Headshrinkers (Samu & Fatu). In addition he portrayed Cyndi Lauper's father in her "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" music video and also portrayed Mario in the "Super Mario Brothers" kids show.

ESPN Radio's "Mike & Mike in the Morning" (Mike Greenberg & Mike Golic) paid tribute to Lou Albano playing a sound bite from "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun." Golic noted Albano was a great athlete as well an entertainer. Both Mikes talked about being big fans of his and started talking about various 70's and 80's WWWF/WWF stars like The Wild Samoans, The Valiant Brothers, Roddy Piper, etc.
