In regards to the TCBW show on September 19th in Oklahoma City, Oklafan received an e-mail from the ticket provider, TicketStorm.com, that the show has been canceled.

Pro Wrestling Illustrated announced it's Top 50 women wrestlers of 2009 and Beth Phoenix came in at #7 and Cheerleader Melissa (AKA Alissa Flash) came in at #12.

Believe it or not, WWE Hall of Famer Jerry Lawler is considered a legitimate candidate for mayor of Memphis.

Apparently there were some within WWE that didn?t like that the John Morisson vs. Dolph Ziggler match was scrapped at "Breaking Point", thus they inserted the Pat Patterson angle.

Sgt. Slaughter accepted the Commander-In-Chief's Gold Medal of Merit from the Veterans of Foreign Wars on behalf of World Wrestling Entertainment. The 110th national convention was held in Phoenix, AZ, the site of next year's WrestleMania. Vince McMahon is a big supporter of the United States military and is always up there to entertain the troops be it sending WWE Superstars to medical bases, visiting overseas bases and even performing the annual "Tribute to the Troops" television show in either Iraq or Afghanistan. United States military personnel are also entitled to free WWE live events - excluding pay-per-views - if they show up in their uniform at the box office of the arena the day of the event.

The WWE legal department took issue with the advertising for a show in Barnesville, GA for the Georgia Old School Wrestling promotion last weekend. There was advertising for a wrestler named "Warrior" (One Warrior Nation) and "Batista" (as in Jay Batista). According to Bill Bailey, the program director of FUN 101.1 FM in Thomaston, GA, the station received a call from Lauren Dienes-Middlen, the WWE's VP of Intellectual property, concerning a guest appearance by promoter Joey Roberts. The station had aired an interview on Friday morning with a wrestler called One Warrior Nation (which possibly could be owned by WWE, since it was a WCW name and they bought all WCW intellectual property). During the interview, the wrestler made it clear he was not the Ultimate Warrior, although the promoter would refer to him as "Warrior". Bailey said he also received a phone call from someone who claimed he was Warrior, that he was not appearing at the show, and there was an e-mail that was from Jim "Warrior" Hellwig that verified calling the station. The poster listed Batista, as in Carolina's wrestler Jay Batista, but the poster was later changed to calling him simply The Beast, and billed as Carolina NWA Tag Team Champion. The promotion did not receive permission from Bill Behrens, the NWA Georgia member, to use the NWA name and there is no such title in the NWA. Behrens also noted that there was a photo of The Assassin, and Jody Hamilton wasn't booked. He noted the booking of a Batista (as in Jay Batista), One Warrior Nation, and also that promoter Joey Roberts, who plays Big Steel, had claimed at one point to be the guy who played Hugh Morrus in WCW, which he was not.

A recent edition of "Peach State Pandemonium", hosted by Rich Tate and Les Thatcher, featured Jim Duggan as a guest on their latest show. He talks about his work with WWE, giving advice to younger talents, the importance of guys stepping up ,and who he thinks will carry the torch into the next decade. You can listen to the show at BlogTalkRadio.com/PSP.

Ric Flair still owes Ring of Honor money for the dates he pulled out of when WWE indicated to him that they would rather him not work for the group, or at least not appear on their HDNet TV show. Flair was talking about returning to WWE a couple of months ago but he now appears out of their plans due to the Carolinas lottery deal because the company doesn't want any ties to gambling.

Big Time Wrestling canceled its September 25th show in Danbury, CT after Roddy Piper, the top star, pulled out. The Gillespie Agency, which represents Piper, said that due to health issues, Piper had to pull out of both the September 25th show in Danbury and the September 26th show in Malden, MA but that he hoped to be able to make up those dates in the future. More than 700 fans had purchased tickets to Danbury. The Malden show is going on as scheduled with Sgt. Slaughter replacing Piper as guest, and they are offering refunds. Hopefully Piper, who has been battling cancer in recent years, is okay ASAP.

Hillbilly Jim was recently interviewed by ClubWWI.com and he revealed that he currently has heat with WWE. One of the main reasons is that Hillbilly doesn't want to see "old people wrestle." Jim is one of the rare stars who's been able to transition from life after wrestling. He speaks about the pitfalls of older stars who can't seem to get out of the business. One topic he says he's asked about all the time is Ric Flair's age. Not wanting that for himself, he's decided to stay out of the ring. Flair, though, isn't the same case: "You gotta decide. Are you gonna work the business or is the business gonna work you? I decided I was gonna work the business. Now, my brother Ric Flair - I think the business is working him. I love Ricky. He's one of the greatest legends. Listen, I can't tell you how many times he's been world champion here and there. NWA, WCW, WWE, whatever. But you know something? It's like Chief Jay Strongbow told me one time. It's not what you make. It's what you keep." You can listen to the entire view by going to [http://www.clubwwi.com]ClubWWI.com[/url] or WorldWrestlingInsanity.com.
