Thanks for stopping by. What a busy week here in Norman with the Oklahoma Sooners home opener Saturday night. I'll be fortunate enough to be on the OU sideline for the game against Idaho State which will hopefully get Oklahoma back on track somewhat after last Saturday night's 14-13 loss to BYU.

The news of Jeff Hardy's apparent arrest on drug charges is disturbing. I have spoken to no one about this matter and only know what info that I have read that was distributed by the police in North Carolina. I hope that there is better news on this matter forthcoming from Jeff or his attorney. Hopefully, Jeff has retained sufficient counsel to help him address these issues. I know that Jeff Hardy is a good young man with endless talents who finished his stint in WWE in grand fashion. Jeff, as are none of us, isn't perfect and I only hope this matter can be resolved quickly and efficiently so Jeff can move on with his life in a healthy and positive way. Jeff Hardy is innocent until proven guilty as there is likely much more to this matter than we know at this time.

Regarding the Undertaker ever losing a submission match, the answer to that question is no. Plus, the Undertaker has never lost via submission. I think, to the best of my knowledge, that both those statements are accurate.

Questions from visitors to the site...I don't know if Scott Hall would make a good announcer or not until I heard him work in that role. Scott definitely understands the business inside and out but I have no knowledge of his broadcasting skills. Scott is a witty and bright guy so my thoughts are that he would have a better chance than most succeeding as a color commentator.

.....I assume the reason that WCW never played Madison Square Garden is because the Garden wouldn't rent the arena to them. Apparently, WCW did not have issues with that as they never sued that I am aware of or threatened a law suit as far as I know. MSG has had a long standing, decades old relationship with WWE throughout the various incarnations of "The Garden."

....I have no personal interest in seeing a Chris Benoit DVD produced at this time. Perhaps I will have a different mindset in the future. I don't know the answer to if or when that might occur. Yes, Chris was a great wrestler but exploiting his image on a DVD after the way the Benoit family tragically lost their lives would be untimely in my view.

....Yes, I believe a storyline such as the Hart Foundation vs. the USA would work today if all the pieces to the puzzle were in place as they were back in the 90's. Nationalism isn't a trend or a fad. It exists in our every day life on a variety of fronts, including politics and sports.

Paul Heyman is 44 today (Friday) and we send out best wishes to "Happy Heyman." There is a misconception that Paul and I have lingering issues that prevent us from having an amicable relationship. If this is true, I am unaware of it. Paul is a unique and controversial individual, without question, but is also one of the brightest creative minds around. Paul's TV persona was that of a classic antagonist and his "on air character" was terribly easy to dislike. Paul and I both have gotten caught up in the moment while broadcasting where our natural passion got the better of us even to the point that I wanted to strangle him. Perhaps he might have felt the same but I can't speak for Paul. However, to me that verbal sparring was good TV and two polar opposites made an intriguing and effective broadcast team. Paul is and always will be one of my all time favorite broadcast partners.

When the attacks of Tuesday September 11 occurred 8 years ago, Paul did not get much of a birthday celebration as many of us in the WWE traveling party were in Houston where we ended up doing the Smackdown broadcast live from H-Town on Thursday night.

Montreal is over 10,000 fans for Breaking Point so it looks as if Sunday's PPV is going to be well over a $700K live gate.

I may have mentioned this in a past blog but for the upcoming Hulk Hogan DVD there are some really unique matches of Hogan versus a variety of opponents including 3 that The King and I narrated especially for the DVD. Two from 1980 when Hogan was a villain managed by Freddie Blassie and the hairy backed version of Hulk faced Bob Backlund for the WWWF Title from Philly and Andre the Giant in Madison Square Garden. We also narrated a Hogan vs. Kamala bout from Paul Boesch's retirement show in Houston in 1987. I think you will enjoy what you see and what you hear on these narrated bouts. Let's just say that the King and I had alot of fun with this project as you will hear.

WWE will be recording two, new Legends Roundtables later this month and will be introducing some new panelists. Jimmy Garvin and J.J. Dillon will join Michael Hayes and a panelist to be named later for two shows hosted by yours truly. The two subjects that will be discussed will be "The Lost Art of Wrestling Managers" and "The Culture of Southern Wrestling." I do not know when these programs will air but one could assume, at the earliest, in late October and sometime in November on WWE 24/7 On Demand.
