Al Farat recently helped negotiate an agreement for International Wrestling Council to join the National Wrestling Alliance and rename themselves NWA Chicago. Farat will also serve on their Board of Directors.

Matt Riviera was eliminated from VH1's "Megan Wants A Millionaire" on episode 3.

Asylum Championship Wrestling has posted a video of their August 15th show on their website at AsylumWrestling.com. Among the features is highlights is "Dr. Death" Steve Williams defeating ACW Champion Franco D'Angelo for the title in his farewell match and well wishes for Williams from Greg Valentine, Demolition (Ax & Smash), and Jerry Lawler.

Jerry Lawler made it official last Friday and filed his petition to run for Mayor of Memphis. He has a new website at JerryLawler2009.com where you can follow his campaign. He even has Facebook and Twitter.

It has been reported that the "fan" that ran in during the Summerslam WWE championship match pitting Randy Orton vs. John Cena was Brett DiBiase, son of "Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase. He is currently training in Tampa, FL with Florida Championship Wrestling under a WWE developmental deal.

A new trailer for the "Rise and Fall of WCW" triple disc DVD has been released which shows interviews with Dallas Page, Chris Jericho, Hulk Hogan, Goldberg, Ric Flair, and Dusty Rhodes. WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan called WCW "the largest ATM machine" he ever saw. The preview is pretty cool and shows a lot of classic WCW footage from the Monday night wars and ends with the AOL/Time Warner merger "that brought WCW to its ultimate demise." The Wrestling Observer Newletter reports that a major movie on the life of WWE Hall of Famer "Nature Boy" Ric Flair has fallen through due to negotiations with his representatives falling apart. Flair?s attorneys asked that production be held back until 2010, but the production company insisted on not delaying the project. The idea of the 1980's wrestling movie is still alive, but will not feature a character based on Flair's outstanding career.

Jim Ross announced in one of his blogs this past week that he will be appearing on Oklahoma City's Fox 25 Morning Show every Friday morning during football season. He has also been teasing in his web blogs about making a major announcement over the next week.

WWE Superstars, Divas, and other celebrities were in attendance yesterday for the launch party benefiting Betty's Battle in Los Angeles, a non-profit organization started by "Access Hollywood" co-host Nancy O'Dell following her mother's death from the ALS disease. Verne Troyer, Joel Madden, Gilles Marini, Melody Thornton, and others joined Triple H, Maria, The Big Show, Vince McMahon, Roddy Piper and other WWE Superstars at the event which was held at the h.wood club. Los Angeles FOX affiliate KTTV 11 had a live feed from the red carpet with an interview with the funny Big Show and Nancy O'Dell herself. Flyers promoting TNA's October pay-per-view "Bound For Glory" in the Los Angeles area were handed out by company representatives at yesterday's WWE SummerSlam Axxess event and were promoting Sting's final appearance in California.

TNA Wrestling has released the poster for their "Bound for Glory" pay-per-view which features Sting. The poster has three banners hanging down with the PPV logo with a great photo of Sting standing in front of them with the tag line "The Final Curtain?" at the top. Sting is believed to have his retirement match at the pay-per-view. You can see the poster by clicking here.

The Mick Foley and Colt Cabana stand up routine Saturday night at the Hollywood Improv went well. Foley friends Barry Blausten ("Beyond the Mat") and Christy Canyon were both there.

Bill Goldberg was in Raleigh, NC this past weekend for the Jimmy V Celebrity Golf Classic. He told the local paper that he would never return to pro wrestling "in a million years" except possibly in Japan where he has done exhibition matches. He said he has just wrapped another season of "Bull Run" for the Speed Channel that will air in the fall.
