The Scoop

The Scoop

Last week it was reported that someone that claimed to be employed by TNA called in to the Bubba the Love Sponge Radio Show and said that Karen Angle, and her children she has with Kurt, are now living with Jeff Jarrett.

Ever since the mysterious TNA person on Bubba the Love Sponge said that Jarrett and Karen Angle were together, Dixie Carter ordered Jarrett to go home, which has been described publicly as him agreeing to take a leave of absence. At the house show on Saturday night, Angle was telling people that he is going to end up with booking control of the company that Jarrett had and that he won't sign a new contract if Jarrett remains in power. Nobody really know how things transpire from here. Jarrett was booked in segments on last night's show that were either tweaked or removed. The direction of the booking last night was planned before any of this went down as the TVs for the next month were written before the Bubba stuff happened, although everything involving Jarrett obviously has had to be tweaked. Generally speaking, the wrestlers are sympathetic to Kurt Angle on this one aside from those who have naturally close ties with Jarrett. TNA people are playing the tape from Bubba over and over since the guy disguised his voice, attempting to find out who started this mess and made the call.

According to a new report by Mike Johnson of PWInsider, it has been confirmed that Jeff Jarrett and Karen Angle are indeed romantically involved and have been for some time now. Kurt Angle was said to be aware about the relationship dating back to last fall when he was feuding with Jarrett. Another new development is that while it was reported by various wrestling media sources that TNA President Dixie Carter ordered Jarrett to take a leave of absence from the company, the newest reports state that it was Jarrett's decision instead to take time off and was not something forced on him by Carter. A decision was reportedly made by Jarrett to remove himself from TNA for the time being when custody issues arose between Kurt and Karen Angle regarding their children, in hopes to remove himself from the ongoing situation. Until this point both Jarrett and Angle were described as being able to co-exist backstage.

The Jeff Jarrett and Karen Angle story was confirmed to be true by PWInsider.com proving that the anonymous caller from the Bubba the Love Sponge radio show last week was correct. The caller, who identified himself as "James from Orlando" said he worked on the TNA lot in Universal Studios and dropped the bomb that Angle is romantically involved with TNA co-owner Jeff Jarrett. PWInsider.com however shot down the story that the two are living together and Jarrett decided to take his time off on his own rather than being forced by TNA President Dixie Carter. Jeff Jarrett and Kurt Angle had legit heat between them when they were feuding on the screen and it's believed that Kurt knew his ex-wife was seeing Jarrett which is why there were a lot of real emotions involved in the angle. Jarrett's wife Jill died on May 23, 2007 eight years to the day that his best friend Owen Hart passed away.

With Jeff Jarrett out on his leave from the company, Vince Russo is the head of booking.

WWE, who never backed down from a lawsuit, Tuesday filed a motion to dismiss the suit brought against them by Jody ?The Assassin? Hamilton and Deep South Wrestling for breach of contract and emotional distress when WWE pulled DSW as a developmental program in 2007. The main argument of Hamilton?s suit was that WWE did not give him 90 days notice to end their agreement and as a result he incurred financial costs from third parties. In the 25-page filing WWE said that Hamilton?s suit was ?a misguided attempt to use litigation to lash out against WWE over disappointment with WWE?s decision to terminate the parties? relationship.? In regards to the claim of emotional distress WWE said that they should not be liable as Hamilton waited two years to make his claim and the statute of limitations had expired.
