JR's Blog: Post Raw & Pittsburgh Taping Thoughts
Posted: May 7th 2009 By: mikeiles
Random thoughts after watching Raw in the downtown Pittsburgh Marriott & then heading across the street and taping Smackdown & 4 segments for WGN America's Superstars show.
BBQ'ed thoughts.....
Miz had another strong outing. He's got the verbal skills to become a main eventer. Big story will be how he produces bell to bell & Miz' weekly evolution.
I'll say this, Shane McMahon endures a helluva ass whipping which seems to delight many fans. Randy Orton or OR-UN as some say will have to continue to fight the tide as he seeming has a growing fan base especially young, defiant males.
If John Cena beats Big Show at Judgment Day, I'll be shocked.
SD in Pitt had a challenging time following last week's MSG show. Jeff vs Jericho highlights Friday night but Punk vs Edge isn't bad plus Edge does commentary for the Hardy-Y2J contest & Edge is excellent.
Mike Knox debuts Friday night and the younger version of Bruiser Brody, to some of us, had a solid first night. I need to hear Knox talk to get to know his persona better.
Nice McCool vs Gail Kim match Friday night on SD. A. Fox came to the ring w/ Michelle but I'm not sure what going on there. All the Divas have their eyes on Melina's title.
Cryme Tyme seem to be SD's resident comedians. Let's hear it for 'em.
Jericho's movement to SD has been executed excellently. Jericho-Mysterio looks to be on the horizon. Nice.
It seems to me that if wrestler's don't or rarely talk on TV that many fans perceive them to be ham & eggers. I can understand that logic.
Dolph Ziggler had an "interesting" SD. Dolph seems to have some Mr Perfect tendancies aside from the hair. Perfect was a pure athlete.
Charlie Haas had his most aggressive outing on SD that I have seen him have in years. Plus Shelton Benjamin showed more passion, and he didn't even wrestle, than I've seen from him in a LONG time. It was a good nite in that regard for the former tag partners.
John Morrison has something special. Let's hope it continues to evolve. You'll see some great offense from the Shaman this week.
Why do people continue to email me about the style of title belts. I don't care & it doesn't matter to me. Please, let it go.
I'm writing this in O'Hare. Ugh.
SD is a solid program this Friday nite but I can't say it's better them our show from MSG last week shich was special. I still think SD kicks Raw's ass but that's just one man's biased opinion.
