NEWS
During the commercial break before the Jerry Lawler vs. Chris Jericho match on last Monday's "WWE RAW", Lawler got on the mic and explained why he didn't help Ric Flair last week. He said Flair had pride and he knew he wouldn't want the help of anyone despite getting a brutal beating at the hands of the former Undisputed champion. Lawler added that he saw Flair take worse beatings and "The Naitch" will be back.

The WWE Hall of Fame came and was gone pretty quickly as those doing the introductions and the inductees had a time limit. Just across the stage a big countdown timer was there to let the Superstars know when they had to wrap it up, something which wasn't done in previous years. Last year, Ric Flair went way over the limit and Triple H had to constantly tell him to close. The major problem was that while Flair was talking, the show was airing on USA Network on a delay and the WWE production crew had to edit on the fly. Everyone basically kept to their limit except for Bill Watts who went over the limit by three times as much. Even Vince McMahon and Steve Austin had their time limits on although Austin went over by a few, but not as much as Watts.

The Associated Press had a story regarding WrestleMania which a lot of online newspaper websites picked up giving WWE some extra free advertising going in their most important weekend of the year. The story was done with the help of WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan, who was interviewed over the phone for it. Hogan talked about slamming Andre the Giant, his match with The Rock at WrestleMania 18, and other WM moments. "It's kind of interesting, that was going to be the nail in my coffin. It turned out to be the fountain of youth for me," Hogan said referring to how the fans at the Sky Dome reacted to him at WrestleMania 18. You can read the full article by clicking here.

On Monday's episode of "Entertainment Tonight", they showed Mary Hart ringing the bell at Wrestlemania 3 and a clip of Hogan vs. Andre the Giant. Also they showed backstage footage of Dwayne Johnson at Nickelodeon's Kid's Choice Awards.

Tazz has finished up with WWE after last week's Smackdown and is no longer with the company. His commentary on last week's Smackdown was his last. Apparently he was upset over Vince McMahon always yelling at him much like Mick Foley and Jonathan Coachman were and decided not to re-sign.

The fan website of Beth Phoenix (BethPhoenix.org) has shut down after the webmaster received a cease and desist letter from WWE. Apparently WWE has sent cease-and-desist letters to a number of fan-owned Diva fansites, including mickie-vibe.org, lillian-garcia.net, katieleafan.com, jillian-hall.net, k-waters.org and glamour-divas.com. Most of those are due to WWE owning the trademarks for the character names.

16 WWE Superstars, Legends and Divas participated in the annual THQ Superstar Challenge with Legends of WrestleMania being the game played this time around. The challengers were Cody and Dusty Rhodes, Ted DiBiase - both father and son - Sgt. Slaughter, CM Punk, Michelle McCool, Beth Phoenix, Finlay, Hornswoggle, Nikki and Brie Bella, Brian Kendrick, Ezekiel Jackson, Kofi Kingston and Evan Bourne. The finals saw Kofi defeating Cody Rhodes for the title but then Shelton Benjamin - who won several of these THQ challenges in the past - came out and the two squared off in a champion vs champion match to which Kofi came out the winner again. Shelton then shook Kingston's hands after their match but told him he still has a lot to go to reach him when it comes to tournament winnings.

WWE Classics in May will be built around Hispanic and Latino Legends focusing on Eddie Guerrero, plus matches will include Hulk Hogan vs. Sting and Shawn Michaels vs. Owen Hart

TNA has confirmed they will hold an event in Oklahoma City on May 21st at the Coca-Cola Bricktown Events Center. Tickets go on sale Friday, April 10th online at TicketStorm.com, at Oklahoma City area Party Galaxy locations, or by phone at 1-866-966-1777. Listed as appearing live at the event are Mick Foley, Scott Steiner, Samoa Joe, TNA World Tag Team Champions Beer Money Inc. (James Storm & Robert Roode), Rhino, The Beautiful People (Angelina Love & Velvet Sky), Cute Kip, Matt Morgan, Taylor Wilde, Abyss, TNA World X Division Champion Suicide, The Latin American Xchange (Homicide & Hernandez), Jay Lethal, Abdul Bashir, Eric Young, and many more. As always, card subject to change.

Shane Douglas announced he'll be promoting an ECW reunion show in November entitled "November to Remember". When WWE finds out, it won't be called that. Douglas was part of an unofficial ECW convention last past weekend in Allentown, PA. Joey Styles and Tommy Dreamer attended the event during the weekend and both joked they would fired for being there. Other names who were booked or showed up included The Sandman, Balls Mahoney, Axl Rotten, Stevie Richards, Nova, Blue Meanie, Chris Chetti, Joel Gertner, Raven, Terry Funk, Scott Hall, Bob Backlund, Mikey Whipwreck, Kid Kash, Francine, Tammy Sytch and Beulah.

Eric Bischoff and Mick Foley were guests on last Friday's edition of TSN's "Off The Record". Host Michael Landsberg was knocking the WWE for deaths in wrestling and Bischoff was trying his best to put across that WWE isn't to blame and asked the question if the federal government can't regulate prescription drugs from licensed physicians, how can anyone expect the WWE to solve that problem? Landsberg said he thinks the real issue was WWE creating a workplace where guys are taking pain killers because they are in constant pain. Bischoff countered saying there are plenty of guys who work the WWE schedule without abusing pain killers. Lansburg then talked about pain killers being used recreationally specifically listing Vicodin and somas because Vince has his wrestlers working hundreds of days a year. Bischoff said guys who are abusing pills aren’t doing it to work a schedule, they’re doing it to numb the brain and get a buzz like heroin junkies. When Foley came on Landsberg asked him why guys are so unwilling to publicly criticize Vince. Foley said he has always felt he could criticize Vince even when he worked for him. He noted that he is very critical of Vince in his upocoming book and doesn't expect he will ever work for WWE again. When asked what advice he would give to younger guys new to the business Foley said they need to be realistic, that only a small percentage make it big time, and to look after their money. He plugged his match with Sting at Lockdown and that was pretty much it. You can view the interview in its entirety here.

There is a new movie that will be released in the future entitled "Wrestling-Then & Now" and will star Killer Kowalski, Nikolai Volkoff, Don Arnold, Homicide, Louie Ramos, Tiger Khan, and independent wrestlers for the East and West Coast.

The movie "Universal Soldier: The Return" starring Bill Goldberg will be released on BluRay on April 14th.

Towards the end of Hillbilly Jim's "Moonshine Matinee" last week on both Sirius and XM satellie radio, he announced the "Hometown of the Week" next week will be Lone Wolf, OK. This is just something Jim does every week along the lines of David Letterman's "home office" used to be in a town somewhere in the United States.
