R.I.P. Test

R.I.P. Test

Posted: Mar 14th 2009 By: Claude "Bud" Guffey

I recently heard from one of the MWA stars that former WWE/TNA star, Andrew "Test" Martin, had died at the age of 33. It caught me by surprise, to say the least.

I remember the first time I saw Test, after the Motley Crue performance on Raw, I believe. I thought he was awesome. Young, big, powerful, and a fresh face in the business. Though he did have some success in the WWE, it could be argued that he wasn't used to his full potential, letting yet another superstar pass without a well-deserved second look or push.

Having never known him personally, what is about a superstar like Andrew "Test" Martin that invokes feelings of sadness? Is it the appreciation for what he did for the sport? Is it just the fact that he did, in fact, die? Whatever the reason, I'm truly saddened to hear that he has left this world at such a young age. I appreciated a lot of his work, though, honestly, there was some that I didn't care for...but, he made it to the big time, and deservedly so.

I think I can safely speak for everyone on the MWA roster, and everyone that works for the MWA when I say that our condolences go out to the friends and family of Mr. Martin. Thank you very much, Test, for the memories and the entertainment. Tell the boys that have gone before you that they may be gone, but they will never be forgotten...ever.

Saddened,
