A special award was given to Abdullah the Butcher at the World Wrestling Council event this past Saturday night in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. The show was honoring Abdullah and was billed as his retirement show. He then danced a bit after the ceremony.

Kamala received an honorary doctorate from the University of Arkansas on December 9th.

The Slammy Award for the OMG Moment of the Year went to CM Punk cashing in his Money in the Bank contract to become World Champion. That match took place in Oklahoma City. Beth Phoenix also won the Slammy for WWE Diva of the Year. The Slammy for Match of the Year went to Shawn Michaels vs. Ric Flair in Flair's retirement match at Wrestlemania 24. The Best Impersonation Slammy went to Charlie Haas and his impersonation of Beth Phoenix.

Charlie Haas was asked about his drug suspension from a year ago by the Winnipeg Sun. Haas said: "I got caught up in it. I thought I was doing something legal. I'd had both my knees reconstructed. I was doing it for maintenance. I'm not going to lie about it. I'm not proud of what I did and I have to live with it. It was wrong, a mistake that I made. I thought I was doing something to suppress the pain. But what I was doing was hurting myself. And it was embarrassing to my family and to the company."

Video footage for a match featuring Jerry Lawler & NBC sports anchor Lance Allen vs. Al Snow & Fox Sports Radio anchor Sparky can be found by clicking here.

Here's one for the "Believe it or not" file. The advance ticket sales for the Highspots.com independent show featuring the debut of Reid Flair was only 170 tickets sold. Only 170 people prepaid to see Ric Flair & Hulk Hogan on a Saturday night in Charlotte, NC. That is astonishing.

On last Thursday's "30 Rock" on NBC, Mick Foley's Cactus Jack shirt was featured. The character of Frank, played be Judah Friedlander, wears trucker hats with different sayings on them throughout each and every show. Last night he was wearing a Cactus Jack "Wanted Dead or Alive" T-Shirt with the words "Foley Artist" on his hat. A Foley Artist is someone who re-records sound for a show or movie to enhance the sound effects. Friedlander also has a role in the upcoming movie "The Wrestler".
